Last candy: I ate one, snack size, Lemon Creme Kit Kat at Easter. .. I didn't like it and almost didn't finish it.
Theatre: 2002 - I got dragged to "The Scorpion King" starring Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson. .. This might be why I stopped going to theatres and switched to DVD rentals, then streaming to watch films at home.
Mall: 2010 - My sister was visiting from Oregon, and she wanted to go to the then, still-popular Third Street Promenade. The Promenade leads into the Santa Monica Place, and I wanted to see what the architects had done to the mall during its big renovation project to revitalize it, as it had just been completed. .. They'd taken the roof off to open it up, created a diagonal through it to alter the straight line walk ways, and moved the food court up to the third floor. I thought all three changes greatly improved The Place, but I still didn't buy anything.

R71 - It isn't the fear of CoVid that keeps us from going to the theater. Our tickets were free because my friend's partner did some kind of birthday package deal, but the guests had to buy their own refreshments. I paid $27 for a bag of M&Ms and a soft drink -- no food, no liquor, just candy and Coca Cola.

Last Week
2004 was the last time I was in a movie theater, doubt I will ever return, too many irritations. Sound too loud, person behind me kicking my seat back and talking. It isn't like you have to wait forever to get movies on demand or streaming.
by Anonymous | reply 97 | April 27, 2024 10:16 PM |
This thread eminds me a few weeks ago I had a craving for a fifth avenue. When I was a kid my mom used to get them occasionally and I could always cannot find anyone in her room when I was searching for candy. It would either be 5th avenue or the Cadbury fruit and nut bars. Hey occasionally still getting craving for them but usually I can't find them at whatever store I'm at and I don't really make an effort to to then find them. But this particular Saturday I really wanted one and so I started all this going to all the 7-Elevens near me and then a CVS and then finally found one that one of our supermarkets about 8 Miles away. I bought like four of them so that I could squirrel away some others for the next time I got the craving and I wouldn't have to try to track it down. Finally enough the rerun designing women on antenna TV that very night they had a joke about fifth avenue which is pretty remarkable that there was even a joke to be had given how kind of obscure that candy bar is.
by Anonymous | reply 98 | April 27, 2024 10:50 PM |
R98, I sometimes get a craving for Fifth Avenue. They're really rare now. Last time I scratched that particular itch, like, three years ago, I just sent for a box of them from Amazon.
Cherry Mash, Zagnut, and Valomilk are also occasional cravings, all equally rare.
