He had some hot vodka but he couldn’t live forever.

If he looked like this 11 years ago, I can only imagine what he looked like at the end.

Very. Madonna is still wearing his stuff.

He seemed nice when he was a guest judge on Project Runway years ago. Much more down to earth than a lot of high end fashion folks.

r5 Indeed. He may not be as well known as Calvin Klein and Giorgio Armani but he's far from a nobody in fashion.

He made exquisitely embroidered t-shirts before Shit-Head Ed Hardy came along. The cotton was better than that of James Perse. The cut of the sleeves raised it from skank to skanque. I felt so klassy.

Who ?

by Anonymousreply 9April 12, 2024 8:24 PM

To be clear,

He was a designer of sexy underwear.

Not a sexy designer of underwear.

Damning with faint praise.

r14 Did they not get on?

by Anonymousreply 15April 13, 2024 7:00 PM

Eh, he looka like-a some-a kinda gangsta, no?

by Anonymousreply 16April 13, 2024 7:36 PM

r16 I wouldnt quite go that far although admittely Giorgio Armani is to my eye much sexier.

He was a legendary in Florence. Started out selling jeans at a table at Florence's daily outdoor market and from there built his fashion business. He kept his design offices in Florence.

I owned a few of his long-sleeved, slim-fit, tapered dress shirts back in the day ... when we dressed for work.

They were always a good fit for me and high quality.

He looks a little bit like old Tony Danza at OP.
