Funny how she went from wanting to be on the run and now she wants more attention than ever now she’s out of jail.

Here's the thing–the miniseries they made about her (The Act) was popular during the shutdown. People, including myself, found her to be a somewhat sympathetic character. The truth is that movie is fiction. When she was released from prison I was happy she'd have a chance at real freedom, but her constantly changing stories and behavior led me to look into things more.

Gypsy, in all her texts with men, including the guy she had murder her mother, did not mention medical abuse. She told a story about being left on the porch all night, but how likely is that when they had neighbors all around and the mom sure as hell didn't want to get caught. All the abuse is from her word, and it clearly suits her to paint as dramatic as possible tale of suffering. She said she was chained to her bed, but unlike the Turpin and Franke children there were no injuries, her bed did not have anywhere to attach chains, and the police never found any chains in the home.

The medical abuse stories did not come about until she met her defense attorney. The evidence is her word. She says he mother has her on chemo. Find an oncologist who gives chemo without monitoring. That's bullshit. She didn't go to trial so her claims were never truly investigated. The nearly retarded autistic guy never changed his story from the first interrogation until now. Her interrogation video is all lies, except the fact she always knew she could walk. Her story has changed multiple times since then.

She likely has a chromosome disorder (look at her face and then google micro deletion of chromosome 1q21.1 if you're curious) that causes things like lazy eye and too much saliva. I think she had genuine medical issues and her mother used that to grift. Once she got a taste of it, she made that their lifestyle.

Frankly I think her mom wanted to keep her home to avoid losing the grift and being exposed. Gypsy really liked dick and wanted more. If she called the police or simply left, her mother could have said that Gypsy was complicit in their grifting. You know, taking make-a-wish trips away from actual sick children.

Obviously the mom was a piece of work and did very very wrong by Gypsy. However Gyp had enough access to the internet for sexting and sending a billion messages. She could have reached out for help. She snuck out to fuck, she could have snuck out to call the police like the Turpin girl.

Now Lifetime has given her a reality show and filmed cutesy videos of "Gypsy bowling for the first time! Gypsy seeing the beach for the first time!", they are financially invested in the "Gypsy Rose the Munchausen innocent" narrative. There's a lot of PR protecting her.

A former mall employee talked about knowing Gyp and her mother over many years. They came in at least once a week to get freebies the store offered. My impression is her childhood was happily filled with not school, but rather dressing up as Disney princesses and being the guest of honor at charity events.
