...from Noah Baumbach. %0D %0D They have an infant child. What's the problem? Anyone know?
Jennifer Jason Leigh Files for Divorce...
|by Anonymous||reply 67||12/07/2012|
They're str8 - and str8 people can't seem to stay married.
|by Anonymous||reply 1||11/23/2010|
She probably got around to seeing "Margot at the Wedding." I wouldn't forgive him either...
|by Anonymous||reply 2||11/23/2010|
Fuck off r1.
|by Anonymous||reply 3||11/23/2010|
He's an asshole
|by Anonymous||reply 4||11/23/2010|
And she's crazy.%0D %0D You'd think it would be a marriage made in heaven.
|by Anonymous||reply 5||11/23/2010|
That's surprising. They were together for a while, at least five years or more. It looked like JJL finally found a good mate in NB. Then again, it wouldn't surprise me if what kept them together was trying to have a kid. It couldn't have been easy for her to get pregnant. She's at least 45.
|by Anonymous||reply 6||11/23/2010|
Go back to iVillage, R3.
|by Anonymous||reply 7||11/23/2010|
I still can't believe that for an actress of her caliber, Jennifer has no Oscar nomination, while both Cameron Diaz and Jennifer Tilly snagged one each.
|by Anonymous||reply 8||11/23/2010|
[quote]And she's crazy.
Actually, what I heard from a friend of mine who is an actor and who worked with JJL is that she's very shy and vulnerable. This was ten years ago when she dated a guy who was a bit of a pompous jerk.
|by Anonymous||reply 9||11/23/2010|
Having a baby will fuck up the strongest relationships. They're little crying crapping machines.
|by Anonymous||reply 10||11/23/2010|
Something tells me they're both tiresome people. JJL is a very mannered actress - she has a similar kind of "marbles in her mouth" speech that Mary Louise Parker indulges in. I'm sure he's very full of himself, like so many acclaimed indie directors.
|by Anonymous||reply 11||11/23/2010|
He probably got around to seeing "Mrs. Parker and the Vicious Circle."%0D %0D I wouldn't forgive her either...
|by Anonymous||reply 12||11/23/2010|
Umm...because she's batshit crazy?
|by Anonymous||reply 13||11/23/2010|
He's a pain in the ass...and no not the good the kind.
|by Anonymous||reply 14||11/23/2010|
I think we have a winner at R10.%0D %0D Also, and this is just my opinion, a woman who waits until she is in her 40s to have a baby probably never really wanted a baby in the first place. I've seen my share of women who have that last chance baby panic and impulsively have a baby when they previously were not that interested.
|by Anonymous||reply 15||11/23/2010|
I was unlucky enough to attend a press screening of Margot at the Wedding and got to see the couple in person. He seemed like a real smug idiot, even worse than the Greenberg character he created, and Jennifer seemed like one of these doting wives who'll take any crap a guy throws at them. I found their chemistry very off, and wondered why she was with him.
|by Anonymous||reply 16||11/23/2010|
WOW at R16--so the scene in "Margot" where Ciar%C3%A1n Hinds brutally humiliates Nicole Kidman's character at the library reading is truer to life than we expected!
|by Anonymous||reply 17||11/23/2010|
"Best Little Girl in the World" I hope she eats for the infant's sake.
|by Anonymous||reply 18||11/23/2010|
I'm sure even her filing was quirky and mannered.
|by Anonymous||reply 19||11/23/2010|
Jesus, his name is Noah Baumbach. Isn't that enough?
|by Anonymous||reply 20||11/23/2010|
I don't understand why is everyone so hard on her? So you don't like her acting. Fine. But, batshit crazy? Where did that come from? I never heard any bad stories about her. She seems to be a very low key person.
|by Anonymous||reply 21||11/23/2010|
She's a hardcore Republican.
|by Anonymous||reply 22||11/23/2010|
She's no Phoebe Cates, that's for damn sure.
|by Anonymous||reply 23||11/23/2010|
She was great in Greenberg
|by Anonymous||reply 24||11/23/2010|
Well she probably really liked him after the success of Squid and the Whale. Then just kinda liked him after the bomb of Margot at the Wedding. And then decided to call it quits after Greenburg. It's every actresses dream to hook up with a cool director. But when the director's star starts to dull, the actress bails. Just ask Kate Winslet.
|by Anonymous||reply 25||11/23/2010|
Margot at the Wedding was great. Kidman is delightfully bitchy.
|by Anonymous||reply 26||11/23/2010|
Was The Anniversary Party about their relationship?
|by Anonymous||reply 27||11/23/2010|
R27, you dolt, The Anniversary Party came out way before JJL met/married NB.
|by Anonymous||reply 28||11/23/2010|
JJL is a hardcore Republican? You are joking right?
|by Anonymous||reply 29||11/23/2010|
JJL is not a hardcore Repub. Please.
|by Anonymous||reply 30||11/23/2010|
r28, but it seems to be the exact story of their relationship.
|by Anonymous||reply 31||11/23/2010|
I haven't forgiven Baumbach for almost derailing Wes Anderson's career.
|by Anonymous||reply 32||11/24/2010|
She's gotten really fat and dowdy, for one thing.
|by Anonymous||reply 33||11/24/2010|
She should marry Bridget Fonda.
|by Anonymous||reply 34||11/24/2010|
I always thought she pinged big time.
|by Anonymous||reply 35||11/24/2010|
Considering Baumbach's movies all explore the lives of emotionally dysfunctional people and their ruined relationships, one shouldn't consider it particularly surprising.
|by Anonymous||reply 36||11/24/2010|
[quote]She's gotten really fat and dowdy, for one thing.
Dowdy maybe, but she's not fat.
She looks like she could be Isabelle Huppert's younger sister:
|by Anonymous||reply 37||11/24/2010|
I really liked her in The Love Letter.%0D %0D Of course I drooled over Campbell Scott.
|by Anonymous||reply 38||11/24/2010|
Is their kid normal?
|by Anonymous||reply 39||07/17/2012|
I've worked with her and she IS batshit crazy. She has friends who are actors who love her so I'm sure she's nice to them so I gues it's all about insecurities but nevertheless, she is not nice to others.
|by Anonymous||reply 40||07/17/2012|
Batshit crazy like what? Give us examples.
|by Anonymous||reply 41||07/17/2012|
I think R25 hit the nail on the head. This is something actresses do. Kate Winslet, Rachel Weisz now JJL.
And I don't think she ever recovered from Steven Spielberg killing her father.
|by Anonymous||reply 42||07/17/2012|
Batshit crazy as in sullen, unsociable and unable to commit to anything. In a collaborative art like acting, this can be very trying.
|by Anonymous||reply 43||07/17/2012|
You bitches don't know anything. He was fucking Greta Gerwig, right after Jennifer had the baby. He's a douchebag who humiliated her. Also, she's a lovely person, just painfully shy - shyness comes across as bitchy, but that's not her intent.
|by Anonymous||reply 44||07/17/2012|
Can't commit like cancels appointments or what?
|by Anonymous||reply 45||07/17/2012|
Steven Spielberg killed her father?
|by Anonymous||reply 46||07/17/2012|
Was good in Last Exit to Brooklyn, a very depressing movie. Maybe she lost her head when Vic Morrow died?
|by Anonymous||reply 47||07/17/2012|
Spielberg decapitated her dad with a helicopter.
|by Anonymous||reply 48||07/17/2012|
OMG, another thread from two years ago bumped up? For what possible purpose? So R39 can ask if their child is abnormal? WTF?
|by Anonymous||reply 49||07/17/2012|
Not Steven Spielberg, John Landis was the director on the set of the Twilight Zone movie where her father, actor Vic Morrow was killed in a helicopter explosion scene gone wrong. I think Spielberg was one of the producers and got sued.
|by Anonymous||reply 50||07/17/2012|
John Landis. Not Spielberg.
|by Anonymous||reply 51||07/17/2012|
The current threads are boring as hell. I searched for ones that were even slightly interesting and they happen to be not from today. What's your fucking problem? Start an interesting thread, if you're so against anyone posting to still active threads in the database which happen to not be from this week. Suck it, Cheryl.
|by Anonymous||reply 52||07/17/2012|
|by Anonymous||reply 53||07/17/2012|
|by Anonymous||reply 54||07/17/2012|
There have got to be more insulting things we can say about the people mentioned in this thread.
|by Anonymous||reply 55||07/17/2012|
Ick. Now she's stuck alone with a kid.
|by Anonymous||reply 56||07/17/2012|
He did an adaption of The Corrections that is apparently not going to get aired.
|by Anonymous||reply 57||07/17/2012|
He looks like a Jewish Griffin Dunne.
|by Anonymous||reply 58||07/17/2012|
R1 thru r57 ARE CORRECT!
|by Anonymous||reply 59||07/17/2012|
She's a terrible actress. Didn't anyone see In The Cut? Holy fuck that was bad!
|by Anonymous||reply 60||07/17/2012|
Jennifer was good in Margot at the Wedding.
|by Anonymous||reply 61||07/17/2012|
I think her best performance was Miami Blues.
|by Anonymous||reply 62||07/17/2012|
The self-proclaimed "Method Acting Troll" is all over this thread. (Troll-dar R39 and watch it light up.) You're a bore, darling. What's your real beef with JJL?
|by Anonymous||reply 63||07/17/2012|
I love Jennifer Jason Leigh. No beef with her at all. Just curious about her. Loved Mrs. Parker, Georgia, The Anniversary Party, etc. Tought she wass crap on stage in Proof and Abigail's Party. Loved her Last Exit To Brooklyn, Rush, even Existenz, etc. why don't you provide some actual content instead of stalking posters? Or do you just have nothing to contribute, r63? Are you one of those people whom the world is better off without?
|by Anonymous||reply 64||07/17/2012|
|by Anonymous||reply 65||12/07/2012|
I thought Baumbach and JJL broke up because he left her for Mumblecore star Greta Gerwig, who was the female lead in Greenberg.
|by Anonymous||reply 66||12/07/2012|
[quote]But when the director's star starts to dull, the actress bails. Just ask Kate Winslet.
