Which one is better? Why?
The Atlantic Ocean versus the Pacific Ocean

Atlantic: salt air, sea shells, beautiful sunrises, warm enough to swim in, powdery sand%0D %0D I only visited a Pacific beach once and it was disappointing. Rough sand, not a single shell or any wild life that I could see. Some driftwood was on beach but nothing else. No misty, salty air either which was odd to me.

The Pacific for very good reasons. It is much bigger, if you get my drift. Size always wins her on DL.%0D %0D Now the big question is which ocean is the top and which is the bottom?
|by Anonymous||reply 2||11/17/2010|
The Pacific Ocean has an insatiable bottom.
|by Anonymous||reply 3||11/17/2010|
NYC is not on the Pacific. That should answer your question.
|by Anonymous||reply 4||11/17/2010|
The Pacific Ocean? There's no there there.
|by Anonymous||reply 5||11/17/2010|
The Atlantic is a bad ass ocean. Storms, hurricanes, noreasters, the treacherous North Atlantic, shipwrecks, icebergs, the Bermuda Triangle.
The Pacific gets a few cyclones here and there. Meh.
|by Anonymous||reply 6||11/17/2010|
The Bermuda Triangle is an insatiable bottom.
|by Anonymous||reply 7||11/17/2010|
I thought I was the insatiable bottom.
|by Anonymous||reply 8||11/17/2010|
Bah, they're both posers. I was the cradle of Western Civilization, but does anyone remember that? Nooooo....
|by Anonymous||reply 9||11/17/2010|
Girls, girls... You're all insatiable bottoms. I, on the other hand, am always on top.
|by Anonymous||reply 10||11/17/2010|
Girls, girls, you're both salty~
|by Anonymous||reply 11||11/17/2010|
ok, r11 made me laugh.
|by Anonymous||reply 12||11/17/2010|
The Atlantic can beat the Pacific with one hand tied behind its tide.
|by Anonymous||reply 13||11/17/2010|
THe atlantic is GROWING!
|by Anonymous||reply 14||11/17/2010|
Do syringes still wash up on NY beaches?
|by Anonymous||reply 15||11/17/2010|
[quote]I only visited a Pacific beach once and it was disappointing. Rough sand, not a single shell or any wild life that I could see. Some driftwood was on beach but nothing else. No misty, salty air either which was odd to me.%0D %0D You do know that the Pacific Ocean covers more than just the Californian coastline? For s start, the Great Barrier Reef is in the Pacific Ocean. Is that enough wildlife for you?
|by Anonymous||reply 16||11/17/2010|
The Atlantic has the Bermuda Triangle. Case closed.
|by Anonymous||reply 17||11/17/2010|
R1 needs to get out more. Hawaii is on the Pacific, one of the most beautiful sunsets and sunrises on earth. Who wants salty air when you can have a nice tropical breeze?
|by Anonymous||reply 18||11/17/2010|
R16 and R18 really need to take the sticks out of their asses.
|by Anonymous||reply 19||11/17/2010|
Pacific Ocean has the Mariana Trench, deepest point on Earth. It's the insatiable bottom.
Atlantic Ocean, having the Bermuda Triangle, is the power bottom.
|by Anonymous||reply 20||11/18/2010|
I have been told that the Pacific is not as salty as the Atlantic. The Pacific is a fat old queen and the Atlantic is built like a Roman god! Well, hell, y'all started this!

I read the opening and thought this would be a thread about Woody Allen's movie Radio Days.
** sigh **
One of my favorite lines from that movie is Aunt Bea's "a bromo is too good for him! He deserves an enema!"

The Atlantic is in my blood. I am a New Englander, descended from Irish immigrants from the Aran Islands. No other ocean makes me feel as energized as the Atlantic.
|by Anonymous||reply 23||11/18/2010|
Between those two, definitely the Pacific Ocean wins.
But personally, I prefer the Mediterranean.
|by Anonymous||reply 24||11/18/2010|
My fecal blooms may be Slavic but my squid are tender.
|by Anonymous||reply 25||11/18/2010|
So what r18? Where the fuck are WE?
|by Anonymous||reply 26||11/18/2010|
I've heard that the surfing is better on the Pacific than the Atlantic.
|by Anonymous||reply 27||11/18/2010|
The Atlantic is dirtier.%0D %0D Everyone knows this.
|by Anonymous||reply 28||11/18/2010|
The first ocean I ever traversed as a young man of 19, was the Beautiful Blue Pacific. I saw it from military transport planes that carried me from the Mainland to Hawaii, Guam, Kwajelein and Aniwetok atoll. Islands look like fantasy Oasis, beautiful corrals and unbelievably clear waters. Islands were decorated with Palm or coconut trees. The Pacific is Calm, Clear, beautifully Sky Blue and Happy.
The Atlantic seems to be forever churning and stirring as if agitated and unpleasnt. The waters always look dirty, and filled with crap of some kind. The Atlantic is angry and dirty and smelly.

Why do people forget the Southern Ocean?
|by Anonymous||reply 31||01/11/2013|
The Pacific has the Great Garbage Patch. Gavel down!
