Did anyone see "Machete" the movie?
It was so astoundingly and wonderfully over-the-top violent and ridiculous. Torture porn, indeed, with a social commentary about Mexican immigration, lol.
I thoroughly enjoyed it. One note: unlike many movies geared toward straight guys, it didn't partake it ANY stupid homophobic jokes. I guess it was too focused on the killing and blood.
Lindsay Lohan's minor appearance was very funny. Jessica Alba was probably the weakest link, though she was fine. Danny Trejo was great.

I should have said "social satire" more so than "commentary".

OP, you must be tenured somewhere. You sound ridiculously out of touch.%0D %0D "Machete" isn't "torture porn." It's a big-budget exploitation film. It's based on a fake trailer made for "Grindhouse."%0D %0D Not that I think any of that makes any sense to you.

But, did you like the movie, R2? Did you see it?

That guy I've seen in the pics for it is the ugliest man I have ever seen.

[quote] "Machete" isn't "torture porn." %0D %0D No, its not. Its violent, but its a Quentin Tarinino black-comic type violence. Torture porn is things like The Hills Have Eyes or the Saw movies.

My mistake for the "torture porn" characterization. Just wanted to talk about the movie and what people liked or disliked about it.

Maybe, R4, but Danny Trejo is a damned good actor and VERY sexy in his way. You should give him a chance. %0D %0D And he's equally good at comedy, drama, and action. He was hilarious in an episode of GROUNDED FOR LIFE.
