Gilmore Girls movie confirmed

On the heels of the huge success of the Sex and the City movies, Gilmore Girls the Movie just got greenlighted with all principles returning.

When are they going to do a Friends movie?

by Anonymousreply 4103/11/2013

All I see online is "probably", a quote from Patterson at an interview today, but not greenlighted.

by Anonymousreply 108/01/2010

Success will depend on the writers. If it's not the original team it ain't gonna work.

by Anonymousreply 208/01/2010

I know Lauren Graham has done some film roles, but I can't quite believe she'd come off well on the big screen.

I also don't understand why she would agree to do it. Unlike most of her co-stars, she has a job.

by Anonymousreply 308/01/2010

"Principles" vs "principals." Look it up.

by Anonymousreply 408/01/2010

Any link? My hag is a HUGE GG fan and would plotz to know its headed to the big screen.

by Anonymousreply 508/01/2010

Can't wait!

by Anonymousreply 603/09/2013

I hear Melissa McCarthy is the only holdout. They're waiting on her.

by Anonymousreply 703/09/2013

Melissa McCarthy is probably not interested in playing second banana to Lauren Graham anymore.

by Anonymousreply 803/09/2013

Melissa McCarthy wants third billing. But Scott Patterson is supposed to be billed third, as the male lead.

What to do?

by Anonymousreply 903/09/2013

McCarthy is asking for more money than everyone else combined. What a bitch.

by Anonymousreply 1003/09/2013

R10 she is an Oscar nominee and currently the star of her own sitcom.

She did make a concession to accepting third billing, instead of top billing.

Melissa McCarthy

by Anonymousreply 1103/09/2013

Please. They know McCarthy is hot right now and will bring in more people so they should pay up.

Remember, the second lead is going to be Alexis Bledel. That's a big minus right there. They have to counter-act that somehow.

by Anonymousreply 1203/09/2013

The story is that Rory returns to Stars Hollw for her wedding.

Why would she get married there?

I can't figure out if Amy Sherman-Palladino is involved or not. She better be.

by Anonymousreply 1303/09/2013

I hope the preproduction budget includes a neck lift for Lauren Graham and a general de-bloating regimen. Bitch is PUFFY.

by Anonymousreply 1403/09/2013

Stupid idea. The Sex and the City movies were horrible, overproduced crap.

And McCarthy is a fool for consenting to this nonsense. At third billing, too! You don't scrounge when you've hit big. Who is managing her?

by Anonymousreply 1503/09/2013

[quote]She did make a concession to accepting third billing, instead of top billing.

Why didn't she fight for top billing?

by Anonymousreply 1603/09/2013

Oh, thaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat's where I saw Melissa McCarthy before.

by Anonymousreply 1703/09/2013

Is Jared going to be in it?

Won't care otherwise.

by Anonymousreply 1803/09/2013

This would never be a movie. The Gilmore Girls has ZERO awareness overseas. Zero.

by Anonymousreply 1903/10/2013

A TV movie? That would be more like it.

by Anonymousreply 2003/10/2013

R14, Lauren does not look puffy.

by Anonymousreply 2103/10/2013

They don't need McCarthy. Her role in GG was quite small and non-integral.

by Anonymousreply 2203/10/2013

Any idea what the plot will be?

by Anonymousreply 2303/10/2013

The plot is Rory returns to Star Hollows to attend Sookie's funeral.

by Anonymousreply 2403/10/2013

Rory seduces her Mom's BF and they stop talking for the first time in history.

by Anonymousreply 2503/10/2013

Plot is Rory's wedding.

by Anonymousreply 2603/10/2013

Is this a joke thread? Now I loved GG, but it was on the CW. It had barely a couple million regular viewers and it ended years ago. Who's going to go see it? I won't not if it's something stupid like Rory's wedding.

by Anonymousreply 2703/10/2013

An actual movie in the theatres and not some TV movie? There's an actual audience which is willing to watch this in theatres?

by Anonymousreply 2803/10/2013

[quote] and they stop talking for the first time in history.

That has already happened on the show.

by Anonymousreply 2903/10/2013

Well neither actresses are doing anything so why not.

by Anonymousreply 3003/10/2013

Not true. Lauren Graham is too busy with Parenthood to film this.

by Anonymousreply 3103/10/2013

Lauren has Parenthood, Alexis has a pilot.

by Anonymousreply 3203/10/2013

They don't need Melissa.

by Anonymousreply 3303/10/2013

The plot is that foot-slut Jared finally gets to wear his beloved flip-flops in the movie, and Alexis, Lauren, and Kelly all take turns kissing and sucking on his enormous feets.

by Anonymousreply 3403/11/2013

This show was popular enough for a movie?

by Anonymousreply 3503/11/2013

Yes, R35.

by Anonymousreply 3603/11/2013

No, R36. It ran on an obscure network, starred non-entities and wasn't a hit on DVD. We're still waiting for linked confirmation on this event.

by Anonymousreply 3703/11/2013

WB wasn't obscure back in 2000. GG ran seven years and picked up a lot of nominations and awards during that time.

by Anonymousreply 3803/11/2013

Was the writing for the series as bad as "Bunheads"?

by Anonymousreply 3903/11/2013

Another old thread bumped up. In the nearlr 3 years since this thread mccarthy has become a superstar. The is no market for a gg movie. McCarthy has another almost sure fire summe blockbuster coming out in a few months with Sandra bullock.

by Anonymousreply 4003/11/2013

Alexis Bledel got to fuck Michael Rady that BITCH!!!
