Best Fight Scenes In Film History

What's your top choices?

Mine in no particular order:

Beatrix Kiddo vs. Elle Driver (Kill Bill Vol 2) Pure visceral bitch fight

Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon vs. Darth Maul (Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace) Masterfully choreographed. The only good scene in a shitty movie.

Ellen Ripley vs. The Alien Queen (Aliens) "Get away from her you BITCH!"

T-800 vs. T-1000 (Terminator 2: Judgement Day) Revolutionary special effects for it's time

Dan Gallagher vs. Alex Forrest (Fatal Attraction) You felt Dan's anger and you wanted that bitch DEAD

by Anonymousreply 1107/15/2010

Vicki Frederick and Laurene Landon vs. Ursilene Bryant and Tracy Reed in "All the Marbles." Great action choreography and subplot with Richard Jaeckel as a crooked ref. Frederick's jump onto Reed's shoulders at 3.20 is better than anything Emma Peel or Buffy Sommers ever did.

by Anonymousreply 3308/02/2013

Matt Damon as Jason Bourne, can't remember which of the three movie's it was but it was the one when he ends up strangling the guy with a telephone cable or something, then he stuffs a magazine into the toaster and opens a gas valve and blows the place to kingdom come.

Precious vs Mo'Nique - this takes the cake:

by Anonymousreply 4708/02/2013

I'm sorry, R44, but I had never seen that before and I'm not familiar with the movie. However, that is the FAKEST fight sequence ever. It's just silly.

by Anonymousreply 4808/02/2013

Every fight scene in Kung Fu Hustle was beautifully choreographed.

by Anonymousreply 4908/02/2013

Eastern Promises - without equal.

by Anonymousreply 5008/02/2013

Hugh Grant and Colin Firth in "Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason". Most realistic fight I've ever seen - but the rest of the movie sucked.

by Anonymousreply 5108/02/2013

Kung Fu Hustle link. It's a great movie if you haven't already seen it.

by Anonymousreply 5208/02/2013

by Anonymousreply 5608/02/2013

[quote]Dan Gallagher vs. Alex Forrest (Fatal Attraction) You felt Dan's anger and you wanted that bitch DEAD

Speak for yourself. Alex was a sick woman and Dan coldly used her and belittled her plight.

by Anonymousreply 5708/02/2013

Lucy and the Italian peasant in the wine stomping vat. Cracks me up every time.

R57, Dan had no idea that she was fucking nuts.

by Anonymousreply 5808/02/2013

I wanted Glenn Close to get her revenge in that movie on that aspirational prick.

by Anonymousreply 5908/02/2013

Why only film and not TV?

Alexis V. Crystal comes to mind

by Anonymousreply 6008/02/2013

The two girl scouts fighting in the bar in Airplane.

by Anonymousreply 6808/02/2013

r62 beat me to it! EXCELLENT sword fighting ( with swords, kids) though it helps if you know the back story to said fight: Archibald ( Tim Roth) raped Rob Roy's ( Liam Neeson's) wife ( Jessica Lange) . Besides that, he was just an all around asshole. "Rob Roy" is a GREAT movie, BTW.

by Anonymousreply 6908/03/2013

Hallway fight scene in (the original Korean) Oldboy...the whole film is damn good:

by Anonymousreply 7008/03/2013

r57 = Mrs. David Letterman

by Anonymousreply 7108/03/2013

Roger Moore and Christopher Walken in "A View to a Kill". The old man screaming out "MAX! MAAAX" makes me cry with laughter every single time:

by Anonymousreply 7208/03/2013

As old-fashioned and lame as that VIEW TO A KILL clip is, you gotta love Walken's little laugh when he realizes he's going to die. I remember being really disturbed by that when I first saw the movie in high school.

by Anonymousreply 7308/03/2013

Don't laugh, but the fight scene on the rope bridge in Kung Fu Panda.

by Anonymousreply 7408/03/2013

Indiana Jones vs. the Swordsman, "Raiders of the Lost Ark."

by Anonymousreply 7508/03/2013

Gypsy catfight in To Russia, With Love. Especially when you consider the two actresses trained for weeks but, once the camera started rolling, they forgot everything and just went for it.

by Anonymousreply 7608/04/2013

Not one mention of BRUCE LEE!!! How dare you people?!! Enter the Dragon, Fists of Fury, Game of Death..Any Bruce Lee fight scene tops ALL YOUR FAVS!! Watch the master at work!!

by Anonymousreply 7708/04/2013

Liam Neeson and Tim Roth in Rob Roy (1995).

by Anonymousreply 7808/04/2013

Mark Wahlberg and Ted the Teddy Bear in "Ted."

Goop and Christina Applegate in "View From the Top."

Both are pretty funny but Ted is laugh-out-loud. Goop gets her head pushed into a round loaf of bread in VFtT.

by Anonymousreply 7908/06/2013

on the small screen it was Doreen and Maya.

in comics, Tony Stark pretty much told SHIELD to go fuck itself after they bought up Stark stock that gave them controlling interest.

Tony handed SHIELD 200 resignations from the company and reminded SHIELD that all his weapons patterns were privately owned -- by him; effectively taking the wind out of SHIELD's power play sails.

Not a single blow was struck, but it was a great scene. Iron Man No. 130, I believe.

by Anonymousreply 8008/06/2013

John Wayne vs. Randolph Scott (over Marlene Dietrich) in "The Spoilers."

by Anonymousreply 8108/06/2013

Lauren and Sheila's fight in the lab on "The Young and the Restless" in 1991. I know it was television but it was highly cinematic. Sheila was a fabulous villain:

by Anonymousreply 8208/07/2013

Please, R82, the sisters do it way better. Jonelle Allen and Vivica A. Fox in their legendary catfight from "Generations." I love how they prepare for battle by taking off their jewelry.

by Anonymousreply 8308/07/2013

Susan Hayward and Patty Duke in "Valley of the Dolls".

Paulette Goddard and Rosalind Russell in "The Women".

by Anonymousreply 8408/07/2013

Marlene Dietrich and Una Merkel in Destry Rides Again.

by Anonymousreply 8508/07/2013

Can I really be the first on the entire thread to nominate the obvious winner: Faye Dunaway vs. Diana Scarwid in MOMMIE DEAREST?

by Anonymousreply 8608/07/2013

Joan Collins vs. a giant papier-mache ant in EMPIRE OF THE ANTS

by Anonymousreply 8708/07/2013

That is so damn hilarious, r83!!

I love it. The whole lead up with the shoes flying. Good times!

by Anonymousreply 8808/07/2013

Joan Crawford vs that can of Bon Ami in Mommie Dearest.

by Anonymousreply 8908/07/2013

Oh HELL yes! That Generations fight was the best thing ever.

by Anonymousreply 9008/07/2013
