Can someone explain to me what an escort service is?

Is it really just prostitution? I mean, if I call up an escort service and they send over an escort, do you just have sex with them? Or do you have to take them out to dinner first? Do women use these services too?

by Anonymousreply 4902/17/2015

Yes, it's prostitution. They'll go on dates or to events with you if you want that, but often it's just for sex. Yes, there are services that cater specifically to female clients.

by Anonymousreply 107/06/2010

Are you retarded?%0D %0D If you're talking about male escorts, it's pretty much sex. And no, women don't use these services. Male escorts service men, despite what Hollywood tries to portray.%0D %0D If you're talking about female escorts I have no idea.

by Anonymousreply 207/06/2010

Ah, Datalounge: where all questions are treated like they're stupid. Ignore the assholes, OP. Here are answers to your questions, in turn: [quote]Is it really just prostitution? Yes. [quote]I mean, if I call up an escort service and they send over an escort, do you just have sex with them? If that's what you want, yes. [quote]Or do you have to take them out to dinner first? You can do that if you prefer. But you don't have to do that. [quote]Do women use these services too? Not as many do as men use them, but there are some escorts and escort services that cater to women.

by Anonymousreply 407/06/2010

Do the escorts have to be regularly tested for HIV and other STDs?

by Anonymousreply 507/07/2010

Yes, the Department of Escort Regulatory Commission oversees these services.

by Anonymousreply 607/07/2010

"Do the escorts have to be regularly tested for HIV and other STDs?" How fucking dumb are you, OP? WHO would be making these escorts get tested? The govt? Newsflash - prostitution is illegal and unregulated.

by Anonymousreply 707/07/2010

Yes, it is prostitution. No, women don't often use escort services. Even if they wanted to, most agencies won't service females. Only the very rare agency will service women and in those cases it is lesbian sex. I do not know of any agencies that provide male escort services to straight women and that is probably because it's just not an in demand service. Women don't pay for sex (usually). The only place in the USA where prostitutes are regularly tested for STDs is the legalized prostitution zones in Nevada. And the porn industry, if you want to count that as part of the sex trade.

What I want to know is, what are these "modeling studios" I see along the freeways in my city? Are they brothels? How are they allowed to exist? I fear the women "employed" in these modeling studios are slaves, and I hate that this situation exists. That is, if they are what I suspect they are.

God I guess I was an in alternate universe when I was trying to be an actor in NY (I really wanted to be an actress but lacked the goods so I went to law school). I worked in two different escort services (late hours, pretty good pay) as a booker (NOT a hooker).

The bigger service, which was busier and had an LA branch (two of us worked weekends), had male for male, male for female, female for male, female for female (rare in that era) and couples for whatever, services.

The other service also had women clients who wanted males and some who wanted couples, I don't remember females looking for females there though the women looking for couples may have been more interested in the female part of the visiting duo.

Also there were certain breakdowns: males looking for males into kink (escorts who could get into anything and be sub or dom worked the most), females looking for males/couples into kink (woman in worker couple usually needed to be sub, sometimes female client was dom, sometimes sub), males looking for females into kink (the policy was no woman was sent out alone on this kind of call, male would have to be present and paid for even if not involved in the scene, only exceptions were for regulars who the kink-available ladies knew).

There were males looking for 'twinks', and looking for 'daddies' (about equally divided but good escorts can act and we had some 35 year olds who could go either way), and males looking for 'girls' (everyone who worked for either service had to show a valid ID so was of age but some 25 year old women can look very young).

There were more men calling than women but there were definitely women calling both services. Also both services had male escorts who had their own female clients -- we'd book for them but take 35% as opposed to 50%.

Both services got calls for 'party favors' and/or 'candy' but neither service would provide those (however individual escorts did sometimes).

I only did this for about a year and a half -- it got boring after a while, and you do get some real nutcases both calling and working.

Oh, the bigger service also provided male and female 'companionship'. This meant the client booked an evening, and clients were both men and women. This did indeed involve a date -- dinner, or a cocktail party or a play or even the opera. Whether the couple had sex afterwards was between them -- the fee was high enough to cover it. (There were only a few workers of each sex who did this -- they had to be very presentable and pretty good at putting on a cultured persona -- but I know one girl who married one of her regulars. At least two guys were kept, one by a woman who flew him out to be her companion in LA, one by a guy in NY.)

I never met the owners, but we were never hassled though I didn't work either place that long. One is still open, the other vanished as those places often do (which oftentimes means they simply come back under a different name; madams of all sexes have to have regular clients to succeed big time so it's no big deal just to let someone know -- discretely -- that the number has changed).

by Anonymousreply 1007/07/2010

That was a great post, R10. R7, there are brothels in Nevada where prostitution is legal and regulated and the women are tested regularly.

by Anonymousreply 1107/07/2010

Excellent question! in my point of view an escort is a models who entertain their client or customer as their need. If you need more infomation you can visit or call here.

by Anonymousreply 1202/26/2014

I don't understand people who pay for sex.

How do you block out the knowledge that the person you're getting intimate with is only tolerating your presence and touch because you're bribing them to do so? It's like the pathetic kid in school who would offer you candy if you'd pretend to be his friend.

by Anonymousreply 1302/26/2014

Get ready to be called a frau, R13.

I agree with you completely, by the way.

by Anonymousreply 1402/26/2014

As disgusting as it is I've never met a woman no matter how fat or hairy who had to pay for it.

by Anonymousreply 1502/26/2014

[all posts by tedious, racist idiot removed.]

by Anonymousreply 1602/27/2014

Do you live under a rock, in a cave without TV, or in an Amish community? Why is it that you don't know what an escort service is?

by Anonymousreply 1702/27/2014

I wouldn`t know.

by Anonymousreply 1802/27/2014

I would love Jan Brewer to service me. Something about her turns me on. I get all wet thinking about her pussy in my mouth and mine in hers. She has a great ass.

by Anonymousreply 1902/27/2014

OP is a maroon.

by Anonymousreply 2002/27/2014

[quote]in my point of view an escort is a models who entertain their client or customer as their need.

Really? You're just fucking brilliant.

by Anonymousreply 2102/27/2014

Even though women generally don't have to pay to get laid by any horny guy at a bar, I think if they were looking for something specific (e.g. the kinks mentioned at R10) or wanted a companion who'd keep it professional and whom there'd be no chance of running into socially (and wouldn't be looking to make her his regular booty call or something), then she'd prefer using an escort service. Probably not a huge market, but I can see why there'd be a need even if access to plain ol' sex is easy.

by Anonymousreply 2202/27/2014

I don't buy at all that there are wen who hire escorts for sex. That place in Nevada that advertised itself as the first legal male escort service (which only catered to women) closed because they couldn't get any clients.

However I'm sure there are plenty of older women who have "kept boy" situations. Just look at Madonna.

by Anonymousreply 2302/27/2014

I think when it's a REALLY old lady, and the escort is gay, he's called a "walker."

by Anonymousreply 2402/27/2014

They're chaperones for the prom, Rose!

by Anonymousreply 2502/27/2014

If men could make money selling themselves to women, think about how many men would do it.

by Anonymousreply 2602/27/2014

Ugh women* not wen, wtf is wen?

by Anonymousreply 2702/27/2014

They call it hookin' honey.

by Anonymousreply 2802/27/2014

I got warts from an escort once.

Which was not what I thought I was paying for.

by Anonymousreply 2902/27/2014

I'm sure a lot of straight men think they would *love* to be straight escorts, R26.

But that's because they are picturing all their clients as some variation on Lauren Hutton in American Gigolo. In reality, the job would consist of having to pretend to enjoy sex with a stream of old, ugly, fat and/or smelly women, just as female and gay escorts have to do with men.

by Anonymousreply 3002/27/2014

I've known a few very cute guys who have worked with gay escort services. It's exactly what you think: the service can connect them with more high-paying clients than they could get on their own. Clients who want to pay a good rate don't want to troll online sites forever, and escorts don't want to vet guys they have never heard of before. It truly is a service that earns its cut.

But also, every guy I have known who has escorted has become poz.

by Anonymousreply 3102/28/2014

'every guy I have known who has escorted has become poz'

So there's a downside to the job then, R31?

by Anonymousreply 3202/28/2014

by Anonymousreply 3302/28/2014

R22, you're right. There are a growing number of agencies that cater exclusively to women. One is profiled in the video segment linked below.

Interestingly, the ones that cater to women operate legally. The woman is paying ONLY for the man's time, and that doesn't necessarily include sex (although in many cases it will.) Sometimes the women just want dinner and a movie.

by Anonymousreply 3402/28/2014

r13 I suppose that's just what they're paying for-- access to a sexual outlet, not a person. It's one way for the client.

by Anonymousreply 3502/28/2014

Call me for more information.

by Anonymousreply 3602/28/2014

Wow! It doesn't sound like escorting is a very pleasant job at all.

by Anonymousreply 3702/28/2014

Yeah nope I don't believe it R34. It is a straight male fantasy that women will pay them for sex. It's ridiculous how many movies and TV shows are based on the concept. When in real life it is extremely rare, certainly not common enough for an entire agency to be entirely catered to women.

by Anonymousreply 3802/28/2014

[quote]Wow! It doesn't sound like escorting is a very pleasant job at all.

Well, gosh, it ain't. But Richard Gere got to wear nice clothes.

by Anonymousreply 3902/28/2014

And it worked out really great for Julia Roberts in "Pretty Woman." Come to think of it, Richard Gere was in that too. Looks like he made good after being an escort. In "American Gigolo," I mean. I wasn't referring to the career he had before he starting acting on film.

by Anonymousreply 4002/28/2014

Allegedly.

by Anonymousreply 4102/28/2014

r38, men for women agencies are real. Cowboys 4 Angels on twitter, 21,000 followers. Click through. They're real followers, not bots.

by Anonymousreply 4202/28/2014

That's because that "agency" was featured on a reality tv show about them, R42. It's fake.

by Anonymousreply 4302/28/2014

How could you miss that it even says 'Showtime' in their twitter banner.....

by Anonymousreply 4402/28/2014

If you've seen one episode of that show, which I have, you will know that it is 100 percent fake. Come on.

by Anonymousreply 4502/28/2014

Ted Cruz is so fucking ugly. Why do I have to see his face in an ad every time I come to DL?

by Anonymousreply 4602/28/2014

You don't pay them for the sex, you pay them to leave

by Anonymousreply 4703/01/2014

isnt prostitution illegal ? if u get caught be police what happens , so how is this different from the prostitution that happens on the street

by Anonymousreply 4802/17/2015

R10 needs to write scripts for SVU.
