Greatest Massive Attack single

So which is it? Can you pick a favorite? Is it one of the biggies: Protection, Karmacoma, Unfinished Symphony, Teardrop? Or maybe a smaller one you grew to love after countless late-night chill-outs?

"Angel," followed by "Teardrop."

Live with me. Saddest video - really disturbing.

by Anonymousreply 206/28/2010

I tried to do a poll, but it didn't take. Sorry, folks.

by Anonymousreply 306/28/2010

Inertia Creeps. Great song to have sex to...

by Anonymousreply 406/28/2010

Unfinished Sympathy.

by Anonymousreply 506/29/2010

Unfinished Sympathy is one of the ten or twenty best songs in the past fifty years.

by Anonymousreply 606/29/2010

Unfinished Sympathy - I have a cd single release with 4 terrific versions on it ... %0D %0D ground-breaking video as well !

by Anonymousreply 706/29/2010

"Teardrop," though House using it as a theme song has dimmed it somewhat.

by Anonymousreply 806/29/2010

Another vote for Unfinished Sympathy. Gives me goosebumps just thinking about it.

For me, the other would have to be Mezzanine. Just fantastic. So trippy-chill, with amazing beats.

And Live With Me IS a heartbreaking song.

[quote]Unfinished Symphony

Leave this house.

by Anonymousreply 1006/29/2010

Unfinished Symphony. It's a beautiful song.

by Anonymousreply 1106/29/2010

"Bittersweet Symphony" was by The Verve

"Unfinished Sympathy" is by Massive Attack

by Anonymousreply 1206/29/2010

I'm partial to "Shelter." I had it on heavy rotation when I met the guy who'd become my husband.

by Anonymousreply 1306/29/2010

All hail Shara Nelson. Whet to her? Loved her solo cd too. Down that Road is amzing

by Anonymousreply 1406/29/2010

"Unfinished Sympathy", hands down. I also love "Angel".

by Anonymousreply 1506/29/2010

Shara Nelson is still around.

She suffered from Sophomore Album Syndrome.

But "What Silence Knows" is one of my favorite albums.

by Anonymousreply 1606/29/2010

The first time I ever did Ecstasy, I heard Unfinished Sympathy (also for the first time) as I was coming up. One of my most delicious memories ever. And before y'all wag fingers, I can count on my hands the number of times I've done it, and my first time was after watching people do it for years and saying no.

by Anonymousreply 1706/29/2010

I agree about Shara too...What Silence Knows is magnificent. I also liked the second cd. She was part of that Brit soul movement that put all American soul at the time to shame.

by Anonymousreply 1806/29/2010

I've always liked "Hymn of the Big Wheel" off BLUE LINES.

by Anonymousreply 1906/29/2010

I read somewhere that Massive Attack will be collaborating with Annie Lennox on her new album. I hope so. She really needs to update her 'sound'.

by Anonymousreply 2006/29/2010

Unfinished Sympathy is my all time favourite song and has been since I was about 14. It was actually someone here who turned me on to Inertia Creeps (someone recommended it in one of the 'sexiest songs' threads), and I do love that too.

by Anonymousreply 2106/29/2010

I love their cover of Be thankful for what you've got. The video for it is great, too.

by Anonymousreply 2206/29/2010

The messy video of Live with Me. Been there.

Their singles boxset is great. Nice heat sensitive touch design and the remixes are fab, some better than the originals or rivalling them.

by Anonymousreply 2505/18/2013

Why don't they play the House theme, "Teardrop," on syndicated eps of House?
