This is freaky. I searched for myself and it came up with some detailed stuff (including my wishlist!)

I know privacy is dead but is it right that a company compile everything and make it this easy?

by Anonymousreply 4410/01/2013

Somehow, I'm not on there. Good.

by Anonymousreply 105/25/2010

They have me at the wrong address (Dad's house) and list me as married.

by Anonymousreply 205/25/2010

I share R1's lucky status.

by Anonymousreply 305/25/2010

I'm where I used to live.

by Anonymousreply 405/25/2010

i'm listed as married. and it says my house is worth 1 million plus. LOL to both.

by Anonymousreply 505/25/2010

Mine has pictures of me!

Old address (parents' house). But the picture thing is odd.

by Anonymousreply 605/25/2010

They have me listed as married too. Guess I missed the wedding.

by Anonymousreply 705/25/2010

You can opt out but you have to give your email address. Thats bullshit.

by Anonymousreply 805/25/2010

I dont get it. You put your name in the search engine?

by Anonymousreply 905/25/2010

Apparently, I'm a married Caucasian male in his 20s!

by Anonymousreply 1005/25/2010

it says i'm black!

by Anonymousreply 1105/25/2010

It says I'm a tradesman with no central heating.

by Anonymousreply 1205/25/2010

I'm actually slightly well known (over 100,000 hits on Google) and nothing comes up for me at all.

by Anonymousreply 1305/25/2010

How do you know you have 100,000 hits on google??

by Anonymousreply 1405/25/2010

It had my pandora stations and recent amazon purchase. Sheesh.

by Anonymousreply 1505/25/2010

R14, see for yourself. Go to Google and type in "tina addicted whore."

by Anonymousreply 1605/25/2010

Over 100,000 hits, R13? Sheesh. I'm fairly well known and I have only 65,000 hits. :-( I feel like a loser now.

by Anonymousreply 1705/25/2010

R8 Doesn't everybody have a junk email address for things like this? I used mine, they sent me an email to confirm. I did, and it's gone. Still, it's nice to know that my one bedroom condo is worth more than a million. I wish.

by Anonymousreply 1805/25/2010

I wasn't on there but my mother was, with a combination of accurate and inaccurate info. I submitted a deletion request using a little-used email acct of mine (since I know one of their aims is to collect email addresses) and she's been deleted.

by Anonymousreply 1905/25/2010

R17, don't feel less important becaue you have fewer hits in google, it means nothing. I have around 553,000 hits, but I've also been online as long as there's been an online. I'm sure usenet postings add up.

I pulled my name out when it first launched a few years ago, so it doesn't have correct or current information for me, but it does now have a listing for my name at an old address of mine with an old phone number and incorrect picture. Go figure.

I thought the site was creepy when it launched, and I still think it's creepy.

by Anonymousreply 2005/25/2010

Zabasearch is worse, because there's no way to opt your info out.

by Anonymousreply 2105/25/2010

Boy, what a load of crap that site is. It couldn't find me at all, but when I put in my father's name it somehow managed to find him.

My father has been dead for 28 years. Yes, twenty-eight years. And furthermore, they placed him at my address, where he never lived. He died six years before we bought this house.

I wouldn't worry about protecting anything that stems from that site. If anything, it'll wildly misdirect people who use it to try and search on you.

by Anonymousreply 2205/25/2010

"Apparently, I'm a married Caucasian male in his 20s!"

Ditto. I'm a late 30s, Caucasian male who lives at his Dad's house.

by Anonymousreply 2305/25/2010

Mixed results. They didn't have me at all, but they had quite a bit of info about my sister.

Entered a friend's name. They had the information he was black and in his fifties. He's white and in his thirties. The oddest part was that the photo they showed was accurate.

by Anonymousreply 2405/25/2010

This is what the site said about me:

Gender: Male (yup)

Zodiac: Taurus (WRONG! who finds this?)

Education: College Degree (yup)

Hobbies: unknown (fine)

Residence: Single Family House (WRONG!)

Length of Residence: 3 years (WRONG!)

Neighborhood: Below Average (well, THAT's insulting)

So the veracity of this site is debatable.

by Anonymousreply 2505/25/2010

Every link clicked to a pay for the information page. Is there something on there I missed to get details for free?

by Anonymousreply 2605/25/2010

Great site for psycho stalkers. How the hell do these sites stay online?

by Anonymousreply 2705/25/2010

Yay, I didn't even show up in their results! Thank goodness, because I have a stupid stalker.

by Anonymousreply 2805/25/2010

R27, fucking hell, the info is so erratically placed, a psycho would be wildly confused by it all.

by Anonymousreply 2905/25/2010

I'm listed as the child of my brother! Um, ewwww!

by Anonymousreply 3005/25/2010

my father is listed as younger than I

by Anonymousreply 3105/25/2010

Oh damn, they have that picture of me fucking the goat.

by Anonymousreply 3205/25/2010

The tagline is "Not Your Grandmother's Phone Book".

Yeah it's not. I never had to pay to flip open her phonebook to find somebody.

What a fucking crock.

by Anonymousreply 3305/25/2010

Just click on "privacy" take the link from your page and paste it into there. They'll send you an email, confirm it then no one will be able to find you if you're searched. There are sites out there with more info than this, if you can imagine. I'll find the links and post them soon.

I did this a few weeks ago, now my info is no longer coming up on there!

by Anonymousreply 3405/25/2010 is pretty bad too. Forgot to mention.

by Anonymousreply 3505/25/2010

Mine says I'm a loser who lives in his mother's basement.

by Anonymousreply 3605/25/2010

It had my name, my address, the value of my house (which is just the average price of hosed in my town now) it had the wrong gender, the wrong marital status, the wrong gender of spouse (since I am partnered) the wrong political affiliation (not affiliated, not even remotely politically involved but they state that I am), they say that I like to shop, but they have no idea about my shopping habits since I do not use a personal credit card. Basically any info the have is stuff that anyone with nothing to do can try and get off the internet, but they don't have any real information. It's all public information. BTW don't be surprised that anyone knows how much you pay for your house, that gets published in the newspaper.

by Anonymousreply 3705/26/2010

It said I was married. HA!

by Anonymousreply 3805/26/2010

Hmm... I searched to see if we had a thread on these types of search engines. A fellow I met who recently said he turned 37 (born in 1976) is listed on these sites as 45, 46, or 47. Since they are all consistent I was thinking they're correct, but I guess they could be wrong based on what people here are posting.

If he's mid- to late- 40s, he looks damn fucking good.

by Anonymousreply 3909/29/2013

Omg, they have every address I have ever lived at! Even pre-Internet days.

by Anonymousreply 4009/29/2013

Wow! Apparently my father was male, and my mother was female!

by Anonymousreply 4109/29/2013

This works! I have DeleteMe by They do all the scrubbing for you. They have a database of which companies in BigData are keeping tabs on you. It's about $90.00 annually and you give them the info they require, along with a faxed copy of your DL or state ID, and they contact companies like Spokeo to get you opted out. You can try to do this yourself and good luck to you in tracking down all of Big Data's sites. Delete me does all of this for you. It's worth the money.

by Anonymousreply 4209/29/2013

No, no, send ME your money, and I will protect it for you. I will dig a hole in my garden, and put it in a black velvet bag, and put it in the hole. Come back in three days, and we will dig up the bag. It will be empty. Your curse will be lifted. This works!
