Barcelona Footballers in love.
|by Anonymous||reply 600||06/29/2010|
Straight guys in Europe always hold hands and do "intimate" things.
|by Anonymous||reply 1||05/08/2010|
That's quite intimate, even for European men. I would be surprised if they hadn't fooled around at some point.
|by Anonymous||reply 2||05/08/2010|
I love Pique. His true love isn't Ibra. It's Bojan.
|by Anonymous||reply 3||05/08/2010|
Ibra's response at the link.
|by Anonymous||reply 4||05/08/2010|
That's very sweet.
|by Anonymous||reply 5||05/08/2010|
very, very cute.
|by Anonymous||reply 6||05/08/2010|
Can't one guy lean on a car as another seductively lean toward him, whispering s story of love, without people automatically thinking gay?
|by Anonymous||reply 7||05/08/2010|
That pic is so hot & tender.
|by Anonymous||reply 8||05/08/2010|
They're both ugly. One has an ugly nose while the other is fat.
|by Anonymous||reply 9||05/08/2010|
Masculine men showing affection. Gay or straight.
It's still a big bastion in society and will be the last to fall.
|by Anonymous||reply 10||05/08/2010|
R9 will die alone.
|by Anonymous||reply 11||05/08/2010|
In other news, Andy Towle's desperate little site that never happened still exists?
|by Anonymous||reply 12||05/09/2010|
I wonder why the one on the left is so upset. If they are just friends then good for them. Women shouldn't be the only ones allowed to show their friends affection in public.
|by Anonymous||reply 13||05/09/2010|
One of them is fat? Oh dear.
|by Anonymous||reply 14||05/09/2010|
Here is another tranlation of Zlatan's response:
"Now, Ibrahimovic has been confronted about the snap by a female reporter. His testy response? Translated: "Come to my house to learn if I am a faggot [maricon]. Bring your sister, too." The reporter responded with, "Don't get angry, man!"
What a douchebag!
|by Anonymous||reply 15||05/09/2010|
wonder what Zlatans coach Pep Guardiola thinks of him using the offensive term maricon, especially since Pep being gay/bi is an open secret in Barcelona since forever.
|by Anonymous||reply 16||05/09/2010|
r16, really? I haven't heard that rumor... wow.
|by Anonymous||reply 17||05/09/2010|
That photo is gayer than at least 90% of the gay things I've ever done.
|by Anonymous||reply 18||05/09/2010|
Looks like one friend comforting another friend who's in some emotional distress.
|by Anonymous||reply 19||05/09/2010|
quote from TheSun article:
"Nasty, unfounded urban myths dogged Guardiola towards the end of his playing days with Barcelona, to the extent that the man who discovered Leo Messi, agent Josep Maria Minguella, recently published a book where he claims Guardiola was partly inspired to seek pastures new because “people around the club and in the media began to speculate about his private life and to claim he was gay”.
|by Anonymous||reply 20||05/09/2010|
The Pep is gay/bi rumor was started by some on the Barca board of directors in 1999/2000 when Pep's contract was about to expire. Pep was an extremely popular figure as player and team captain and the board feared that in his position Pep had amassed too much power. This rumor and the rumor that he had an "incurable disease" (i.e. AIDS) were spread as a way of undermining him. Pep had been laid up an entire season after surgery (on his knee, I beleive) and instead of supporting him the board basically shat all over him.
Pep is not your typical footballer. He was studying law when he got called up to the first team and has always associated with poets, authors, and film makers in Catalonia. This fed into the rumors that he was a "poof." The same thing happened to Graeme Le Saux in England.
Pep handled all of this with dignity. He never addressed the rumors or even commented on them.
The link is to an article (in Spanish) written by one of his friends the director and writer David Trueba. It describes "Pep Guardiola's Worst Year."
|by Anonymous||reply 21||05/09/2010|
Oh, please! Those men are just talking, they are not gay lovers.
|by Anonymous||reply 22||05/09/2010|
If Pique is gay, I'm moving to Barcelona and camping outside his door.
|by Anonymous||reply 23||05/09/2010|
What kind of car is that?
|by Anonymous||reply 24||05/09/2010|
There was whispers about Guardiola long before the transfer mess, he was also rumored to have had a on/off fling with Alejandro Sanz that lasted about 7 years. No smoke without fire is what I usually say. That Barca chose to use it against him when it suited them is no shock.
|by Anonymous||reply 25||05/09/2010|
How is it Christian Reinaldo has managed to dodge these rumours when he is just as affectionate with men?
|by Anonymous||reply 26||05/09/2010|
"Looks like one friend comforting another friend who's in some emotional distress."
Looks like the PR people are trying to earn their money.
|by Anonymous||reply 27||05/09/2010|
ronaldos scandals with skanky prostitutes are so well publicized in the press that apart from his flamboyant ways are just seen as shallow and narcissistic, not gay. I would go to YouTube and check out Ronaldo parodys done by Crackovia. It's funny, I promise, they do make him seem very effeminate, but they also make fun of his womanizing. The one where he sits infront of the mirror with a tweezer crying about his eyebrows while his equally flamboyant team mate Guti tries to console him, is probably my favorite.
|by Anonymous||reply 28||05/09/2010|
What makes me think that this might be post-tryst is the fact that Zlatan never immediately said that Gerard was comforting him. Instead, when asked, he ignored the question, finally exploding several hours later with the "I'm not queer" comment.
|by Anonymous||reply 29||05/09/2010|
Oops, that first sentence is not correct, it should just be: "his flamboyant ways", not "apart from his flamboyant ways".
|by Anonymous||reply 30||05/09/2010|
The question I have is, if this just one friend consoling another after some horrible incident, why aren't they saying as much? No need to explain what that incident is, just say "I was going through a rough situation and my friend was there to help me."
Instead, we get a homophobic response, which only fans the flames further, making the situation and speculation worse.
|by Anonymous||reply 31||05/09/2010|
|by Anonymous||reply 32||05/09/2010|
This is a good example of why men should not emotionally intimate unless they're gay.
|by Anonymous||reply 33||05/09/2010|
"Gerard .... I swear...."
|by Anonymous||reply 34||05/09/2010|
This picture is nothing. Google "joick" and get a gander at how close Joe Jonas is to his brother, Nick. Now, if Americans barely bat an eye at their odd relationship, why the drama over these two?
|by Anonymous||reply 35||05/09/2010|
I wish I knew...
|by Anonymous||reply 36||05/09/2010|
|by Anonymous||reply 37||05/09/2010|
But they're related, R35... That kind of behavior can be expected between brothers.
|by Anonymous||reply 38||05/09/2010|
R38, Joe has 3 brothers, but he only carries on this way with Nick. As a matter of fact, he seems to dislike his elder brother.
|by Anonymous||reply 39||05/09/2010|
That's not abnormal, r39. It's very common that some siblings are closer than others. I have a great relationship with my brother and one sister, but am very distant from my other sister.
|by Anonymous||reply 40||05/09/2010|
R40, you obviously haven't seen JoeJonas in action. Even their loyalest fans are like, "whoa, dude!" Joe is obssesed with N ick. The parents should have separated them years ago. Fans even call them joick as if they were a couple like Brangelina.
|by Anonymous||reply 41||05/09/2010|
That pic is..Whoa! I like it.
|by Anonymous||reply 42||05/09/2010|
Hot, R41. They should get it on, just like the Peters Twins.
|by Anonymous||reply 43||05/09/2010|
Interesting R16. Who knows? One reason I thought that the rumors had traction is that Pep's wife is sooooo mannish. I wouldn't go as far as saying she's ugly, but definitely not attractive. Their kids are very cute, though.
I must say that the Barca player that has always set off my gaydar is Xavi. Any rumors about him? He has taken a woman described as his girlfriend to Barca team dinners, but maybe she's just a friend.
|by Anonymous||reply 44||05/09/2010|
Xavi is also rumoured to be gay, he is still living with his parents, although this could be due many different reasons, it is also the easiest way for a single gay celebrity to avoid much scrutiny.
There is no mention of a GF ever, but you are right that he shows up to dinners with a female companion.
And have you seen his EYEBROWS!
|by Anonymous||reply 45||05/10/2010|
Oh, I forgot to mention Crackovia. The actor who plays Ronaldo is great. My favorite sketch is the one where Ronaldo confuses Guti for Paris Hilton (at link with English subtitles). What will they do now that Guti is moving to Galatasray? At least they still have Sergio Ramos to parody.
Speaking of Guti, he's had his own rumors. Years ago he dated a transvestite for at least a couple of weeks and later denied knowing she was a he. Lordy!
|by Anonymous||reply 46||05/10/2010|
oh Xavi, he's adorable, and has been dating a girl named Elsa, maybe a friend that helps him beard?, he does set of my gaydar as well. What a great player he is for Barca and a gentleman to boot, hope he is gay actually. Pep was and still is rumored to have a long time fling with his good friend Manuel Estiarte, they've known each other and have been quite close since the early 90s. Both are married, but the rumors persist. Viva Barca. I love that team, and love that Barcelona is such a gay friendly city, hopefully they'll have the first out player! I can dream.
|by Anonymous||reply 47||05/10/2010|
haha, got to love Xavis eyebrows, he leaves them alone, which is a good thing when you think of what Ronaldo has done to his brows.
|by Anonymous||reply 48||05/10/2010|
Although Ronaldo beds every skank who looks in his direction, he's totally queeny. It's also easy to imagine that he's a walking STD factory.
|by Anonymous||reply 49||05/10/2010|
I once knew a girl who was completely in love love with Christiano Ronaldo. And then she died.
|by Anonymous||reply 50||05/10/2010|
What is so weird about the "joick" mthing, is it seems to be women and girls who are really into it. Weird huh?
|by Anonymous||reply 51||05/10/2010|
R16 - Manel Estiarte is he water polo player, isn't he? When Pep was accused of steroid use while at Brescia back in 2001, Estiarte was the first person he called and he was on a plane to Italy right away and got him a lawyer ASAP (his wife is Italian IIRC).
|by Anonymous||reply 52||05/10/2010|
That's me R21 posting at R52.
|by Anonymous||reply 53||05/10/2010|
Yes, he is a water polo player, there is several videos of him from last year I think, talking about Pep and their friendship. I typed in "Estiarte Guardiola" in YouTube and there it was, one of the videos features Pep going to Manel's book release party, you see them together talking briefly. Manel did go to Italy to support pep, i didn't know Manels wife was Italian though. All I know about pep's wife is that he met her at her parents clothing store when he was 19-20 or something like that.
|by Anonymous||reply 54||05/11/2010|
Hmm, my post isn't registering. I'll try again.
Manuel Estiarte is indeed a water polo palyer, a pretty good one at that, took gold in the Atlanta olympics. I didn't know Manuels wife was Italian though, buy he did go to support Pep during his doping scandal in Italy. All I know about Peps wife is that they met in her parents clothing store in Barcelona. I typed in "Estiarte Guardiola" in Youtube and there's are some videos from last year or so, where Manuel talk about the friendship with Pep, how they met ect. They are very close, clearly.
|by Anonymous||reply 55||05/11/2010|
Oh, my first post DID register, lol. Oh well, double post..
|by Anonymous||reply 56||05/11/2010|
My friend who lives in Madrid was sort of cruised by Guti at a party. My friend told me that if he didn't know that he was a famous player, he would have assumed - no quesiton - that he was a young gay boy. Guti paid no attention to my friend's female companion.
|by Anonymous||reply 57||05/11/2010|
OP's photo makes me hard.
|by Anonymous||reply 58||05/11/2010|
I mispoke earlier. Apperantly Guti dated a transexual who was a B or C list actress. How far along in the process she was, I don't know.
Here are some older pictures of Guti (including wedding pics!). He had two kids with his wife from whom he's now divorced. He has a huge party boy reputation so much so that his late nights led to tardiness or no shows to training sessions. The consensus is that it damaged his career and led many of the coaches that Real Madrid has had (six in six years, I believe) to keep him on the bench
|by Anonymous||reply 59||05/11/2010|
The gal who Guti dated. NSFW.
Not a bad body, but harsh looking.
|by Anonymous||reply 60||05/11/2010|
|by Anonymous||reply 61||05/11/2010|
Gerard is hot as fuck. The other one is a neck downer. I'd still go for a roll with him because he has a hot body, is famous, and has big dick face but definitely a neck downer.
|by Anonymous||reply 62||05/11/2010|
Bibi Andersen is very famous in Spain. And she has been in several Almod'ovar movies. If you do not know who she is--when she appears in "Law of Desire"--you are missing a hell of a joke.
|by Anonymous||reply 63||05/11/2010|
Ronaldo, Raul and Nadal
|by Anonymous||reply 64||05/12/2010|
I HATE what Ronaldo is wearing in that photo r64, just no no no. What the hell is he thinking.
|by Anonymous||reply 65||05/13/2010|
Any other big-name footballers rumoured to be gay? Graeme Lesaux was just a straight a guy who liked books. There have been a few about Beckham being bi, but nothing about my favourites like Didier Drogba, Thierry Henry, Michael Ballack or Francesco Totti.
|by Anonymous||reply 66||05/15/2010|
Ronaldo is classic Eurotrash. He has the fashion sense of a $2 pimp.
|by Anonymous||reply 67||05/15/2010|
Freddie Ljungberg is rumoured to be gay, but I doubt he is, again like all soccer players, tacky new money trash. Why do all soccer players dress like the male version of Eddie Monsoon?
|by Anonymous||reply 68||05/16/2010|
Why do all soccer players dress like the male version of Eddie Monsoon?
Blame David Beckham. His metrosexual look gave him a ton of endorsement deals. Now every football player is trying to become noticed by Armani, D&G and other high end business companies.
|by Anonymous||reply 69||05/16/2010|
Good point, R69.
|by Anonymous||reply 70||05/16/2010|
If I ran and label, I certainly wouldn't want Beckham or any football player to endorse my brand, They make everything look cheap.
As a friend said to be, he only looks at the Grammys to find out which designer cloths he has to throw out.
|by Anonymous||reply 71||05/16/2010|
I think the current climate keeps any footballers deeply closeted. I haven't heard any rumors beyond Guti. Justin Fashanu came out in 1998 and was absolutely grilled about it in the press, by his manager and hiw own brother.
The denunciations began with Justin Fashanuâs own brother, John, himself a professional soccer player. John Fashanu said bluntly, âMy gay brother is an outcastâ and disowned him. His manager, the often-lionized Brian Clough, followed suit calling Fashanu a âbloody poof.â Fashanu was denounced by many blacks in England for âbringing shame on their race......â Given the response of family, coaches, and members of the media, it is hardly surprising that the British publicââ¬â¢s response to Fashanuâs coming out was largely negative. The groundwork for the homophobic chants that would follow from the terraces of stadiums across England was laid by the attitudes of those in power. Fashanu committed suicide in 1998 and the response to his coming out surely played a part in the tragic end to his life.
Fabio Cannavaro has openly said that he would not share a dressing room with a gay man.
On the brighter side, Unai Emery coach for Valencia has said:
Emery said: "Everything has a process. The world is opening up, though the world of football is difficult to open.
"In the dressing room no (have I come across gay players), but in the environment I work in. I think I have had gay colleagues and they have never said anything to me.
"If a player was to admit it, I would be delighted. I think then we can control what happens."
Good blog post at the link.
|by Anonymous||reply 72||05/16/2010|
Damn. That second quote has the three paragraphs in it.
|by Anonymous||reply 73||05/16/2010|
Let's be honest, most soccer players are very common, from very poor areas and chav families, hence when they get money they buy and act like tacky shit and date tacky soft porn models. They have no manners or eloquence they are incredibly ignorant, in social matters and education. As are the people that follow soccer, that is why gay players won't come out.

Quote from Guti made this season:

Fabio Cannavaro needs to be gang banged by a pack of savage male flight attendants

Watch out for him playing central defense for Spain in the World Cup starting June 16th. Schedule for Spain's group matches at the link.
Ibrahimovic will be sitting out this WC since Sweden didn't qualify.

Even when woman are touching in public, it never looks gay the way these two do.
|by Anonymous||reply 82||05/21/2010|
|by Anonymous||reply 83||05/21/2010|
Tons of hot pictures of Gerard Pique at the link:
|by Anonymous||reply 84||05/31/2010|
Need to note that the link at R84 has material that is NSFW!
|by Anonymous||reply 85||05/31/2010|
Pique is gorgeous. And he looks gay.
|by Anonymous||reply 86||05/31/2010|
Publically turning his back on his own brother ... I don't know how John Fashanu sleeps at night.
|by Anonymous||reply 87||05/31/2010|
The Graeme Lesaux rumours turned out to be false. I'd say Guti is the only famous footballer likely to be gay.
|by Anonymous||reply 88||05/31/2010|
I think the pic is adorable and very, very gay.
Both, Ibrahimovic and Pique have gay rumors surrounding them. Ibrahimovic was caught by the cameras checking out another football player during a match in Italy last year.
|by Anonymous||reply 89||06/01/2010|
pique has major gay face. and the pic of the two of them is sooo gay, it's beyond gay. men do not show intimacy like that with each other - unless they're gay.
|by Anonymous||reply 90||06/01/2010|
R89, I think this is the moment you're talking about:
|by Anonymous||reply 91||06/01/2010|
Gerard Pique is fuckin' beautiful!
|by Anonymous||reply 92||06/01/2010|
Straight guys don't touch each other and stand so close like this:
|by Anonymous||reply 93||06/01/2010|
So fucking gay!
They are way up in each other's bubble, Pique is tilting his head looking in Ibrahimovic's eyes...their dicks are rubbing against each other....
|by Anonymous||reply 94||06/01/2010|
I love the Pique/Ibrahimovic photo. So full of lust and anguish...
|by Anonymous||reply 95||06/02/2010|
I have seen gayer photos from footballers on the field. That said I see nothing platonic about that pic.
|by Anonymous||reply 96||06/02/2010|
I think that everybody is used to see football players kissing, hugging, touching each other during a game. That doesn't mean they're gays.
What makes this pic so special is that these two footballers were caught in a parking lot in Barcelona....
|by Anonymous||reply 97||06/02/2010|
Incredibly hot in R91's video
|by Anonymous||reply 98||06/02/2010|
You know, if OP's linked pic were on a book cover about a gay themed coming out / love story I'd totally buy it.
|by Anonymous||reply 99||06/02/2010|
Thanks for those joick-Pics. Now I feel very dirty.
|by Anonymous||reply 100||06/02/2010|
I never thought that Zlatan Ibrahimovic could be hot but that pic with Pique and the clip at R91 have made me change my mind.
|by Anonymous||reply 101||06/02/2010|
I don't think they are gay, gay men don't play football.
|by Anonymous||reply 102||06/02/2010|

|by Anonymous||reply 107||06/03/2010|

|by Anonymous||reply 108||06/03/2010|
R108, Who else in Barca is rumoured to be gay?
|by Anonymous||reply 109||06/03/2010|
Bojan. The coach Pep Guardiola. And of course, Piqué.
|by Anonymous||reply 110||06/03/2010|
Lots of pics of Ibra on what appears to be a boys vacatuin at the link. Girlfriend and two kids nowhere to be seen. The tattoos are just gross.
|by Anonymous||reply 111||06/04/2010|
The tattoos may be gross but Ibra has a killer body.
One thing's for sure: these new pics aren't going to help him to quash the gay rumors.
|by Anonymous||reply 112||06/04/2010|
I don't mind his tatoos, but his face is kind on the butter side, isn't it?
And I find it hypocritical that SJP is constantly referred to as horseface(d) and connected to all sorts of horse jokes, but nobody seems to acknowledge Pique's horsey features.
I don't mean that both guys are ugly at all, but they aren't exactly uber-perfect. Still OP's picture is very nice.
|by Anonymous||reply 113||06/04/2010|
I don't think Pique is horse faced at all, he's even better looking with less facial hair though, his jawline becomes a bit more prominent. Besides, isn't SJP's face more foot shaped than horsey anyway?
|by Anonymous||reply 114||06/04/2010|
ever heard any specific stories about them? Please tell.
|by Anonymous||reply 115||06/04/2010|
Those tattoos just ruin everything. yuck.
|by Anonymous||reply 116||06/04/2010|
R114 is right; Piqué doesn't have a horse face at all!
More nice Piqué/Ibrahimovic moments:

|by Anonymous||reply 126||06/04/2010|
Pique has been spotted out and about in Barcelona looking cozy with another guy.
|by Anonymous||reply 127||06/04/2010|
R127, If you didn't talk so much to yourself on this thread, I'd believe you.
|by Anonymous||reply 128||06/04/2010|
They look so intimate in that pic, how I missed this?
|by Anonymous||reply 129||06/04/2010|
"Straight guys in Europe always hold hands and do "intimate" things."
I love it when 'mericans get all superior and say this sort of thing. Then how come the European publications are saying the same things the American gay sites are saying? Huh? Huh?
|by Anonymous||reply 130||06/04/2010|
holding hands with this guy? Hugging, kissing, lol What type of "cozy"? Come on, don't leave us hanging.
|by Anonymous||reply 131||06/05/2010|
I actually think it would be hotter if they were straight but just were so in love with each other platonically like the bestest of best buddies, they are oblivious to how their intimate moments come across. It doesn't even dawn on them how it might come across.
|by Anonymous||reply 132||06/05/2010|
Footballers are very precious, over-pampered, emotional creatures. If you add into the mix, that this is Spain (people are v. touchy-feely), then it's possible they are showing platonic affection for each other.
The only element that makes me doubt it's platonic is the hip action - look how close their hips are. Two straight French, Italian or Spanish men (or women) will not embrace that close when greeting or parting.
|by Anonymous||reply 133||06/05/2010|
They aren't gay. But it's a hot idea.
|by Anonymous||reply 134||06/05/2010|
It's ridiculous to think that there aren't ANY gay footballers out there.
These gay players are hiding behind girlfriends/wives/children. Football world in Spain is as homophobic as in other countries.
And Pique is one of the footballers who has always being rumored to be gay.
Helguera, from Real Madrid was also rumored to be gay. When the rumors started to hound him, he married a sport journalist. Now they have a children.
Sometthing similar happened with Barcelona coach, Josep Guardiola. It seems it's an open secret in Barcelona (and in Spain) that he's gay, but he's married and has three children.
Bottom line is that in Spanish football, having a girlfriend and being married with children don't mean that those footballers are straight.
Regarding footballers' sexuality, Spain is not different from other countries.

r135 speaks the truth. I was surprised at the extremely homophobic comments by the "Iberian machos" when I translated a Spanish blog who posted this photo, (using google translate, sadly I don't speak Spanish), Spain does have gay marriage but the old views still reign supreme it seems. A gay la liga footballer would have to beard to have a career, even today in 2010. I can't even begin to imagine the amount of abuse an openly gay football player would get from the team supporters all over Europe.
|by Anonymous||reply 136||06/05/2010|
While most of his team mates frolicked in the coast of Spain, Gerard Pique opted for the glitzy Las Vegas scene where he was photographed relaxing and enjoying the company of friends.
Is that lingo from the fifties telling us that he was taking some gay time off?
|by Anonymous||reply 137||06/05/2010|
Thanks for the link, r137.
Those pics of Pique & 'friends' have GAY! written all over them.
|by Anonymous||reply 138||06/05/2010|
I didn't know Las Vegas was viewed as a popular gay destination.
|by Anonymous||reply 139||06/05/2010|
I just don't think Pique is gay.
|by Anonymous||reply 140||06/05/2010|
From the comment section:
"If anyone in Barcelona is gay*, it's probably Xavi who has been caught on video holding hands with dudes several times. *Not that there's anything wrong with it. I personally think Xavi being gay (if true) is actually pretty cool."
I wonder if that video is on Youtube...
|by Anonymous||reply 141||06/05/2010|
Sorry forgot the link:
|by Anonymous||reply 142||06/05/2010|
The pictures of Las Vegas were posted by Gerard and his friends on facebook so it had absolutely no value.
The picture of Ibra and pique was taken on clear daylight, and was taken out of context, it was more of a joke to make them look gay-which is homophobic so stop it guys. It was "news" for a couple of days beceause nobody truely believed it- it was more to tease Ibra beceause of his bad performance on the pitch.
Both of them are straigt, Gerard and girlfriend.
|by Anonymous||reply 143||06/05/2010|
I'd actually speculated earlier on this thread about Xavi. He pings big time to me.
|by Anonymous||reply 144||06/05/2010|
Xavi has a girlfriend Elsa Egea, you can google her and Xavi. If there were real pictures of Xavi holding hands with guys (not on the field after a goal, or joke picture like Ibra and Gerard)they would be al over the internet, the whole gay world would go crazy outsport,advocate, queerty- can't find them.
|by Anonymous||reply 145||06/05/2010|
Xavi has been single for a year already. He gave an interview a few days ago adressing the gay rumors, girls, life, football ect ect..
|by Anonymous||reply 146||06/05/2010|
R124/125/126/143/145 = Pique-is-straight! fangirl
Maybe she thinks that she have a chance with him, lol
|by Anonymous||reply 147||06/05/2010|
I have no idea if Ibrahamovic is gay or not.. Perhaps not since he's married and has kids (yeah, I know he can still be gay and married). But Pique, the way he stands and leans into him and the way he looks at him. It seems like he has feelings for him, something deeper than just friendship. I do get the gay vibe from him too.
|by Anonymous||reply 148||06/05/2010|
No straight man, not even in Barcelona, express this level of intimacy with just friends.
I don't care if they are married or have a girlfriend; those two clearly have something deeper going on.
|by Anonymous||reply 149||06/05/2010|
I know, R149. And even if it was just Pique comforting his friend.. It's still something very emotional and lover-esque about it. It seems like they are lovers and something happened and he is comforting someone he loves.
|by Anonymous||reply 150||06/05/2010|
Piqué says he has always liked writing short stories, novellas and letters, it eventually became a book, an autobiography of sorts about his own life playing for Manchester and Barcelona. He wrote it himself, no ghost writer. His favorite movie is The Notebook, which I remember as a very emotional and romantic movie, something of a chick-flick so to speak. I think Pique might be straight, but a bit more emotionally mature and intelligent than your average straight guy, not afraid to give his friends a hug or show emotions, which is pretty cool. He recently adressed the photo saying he and Zlatan had seen it in the dressing room and just laughed. Piqué at least doesn't seem the least bit bothered about the photo or the rumors.
|by Anonymous||reply 151||06/06/2010|
After seen what Ibrahimovic told that reporter "Come at home with me and I'll show you I'm not a faggot! Bring your sister too!!!", I wouldn't say that they 'laughed at the pic in the dressing room'. Pique is obviously lying about it.
Besides, Pique said that when that pic was taken, Ibrahimovic and him were 'talking about his book'.
Look at the pic. Which book they were talking about? The Kamasutra?
Besides, Pique's unknown 'girlfriend' (a plain looking girl) is right now, appearing everywhere on Spanish media. Damage control, anyone?
|by Anonymous||reply 152||06/06/2010|
"Which book they were talking about?"
The Gay Man's Kama Sutra.
|by Anonymous||reply 153||06/06/2010|
Is it just her R152 or all of the WAGs?
|by Anonymous||reply 154||06/06/2010|
No way is Pique gay. I have a friend who looks a lot like him, and he is straight.
|by Anonymous||reply 155||06/06/2010|
I'd say that many WAGs as used as damage control to hide footballers' gayness. Pique is not the exception.
Ibra's reaction to the pic the fact that Gerard Pique was obviously lying (they were just talking about a book???) the 'girlfriend' suddenly appearing everywhere on Spanish media = Pique and Ibra has something to hide.
|by Anonymous||reply 156||06/06/2010|
Perhaps it was Ibra's first time and Pique was consoling him, telling him that he'll get use to the pain in the ass and learn to enjoy it.
|by Anonymous||reply 157||06/06/2010|
Sure they have something to hide so they make love on clear daylight! It was perhaps one day news in Spain- even for the gay press in Spain it was one day news- i guess it is only news here on datalounge!
|by Anonymous||reply 158||06/06/2010|
They were not caught making love, r158, but in an intimate moment that neither of them have properly explained.
BTW, Datalounge is a GAY GOSSIP board; if you don't like it , go back to your Gerard Pique fansite with the rest of fangurls.
|by Anonymous||reply 159||06/06/2010|
I like to remind you that is only news on Datalounge, you know what that means! I'm a gay man living in Barcelona and even in the gay press it is was a one day joke not even news! But you are right datalounge is for gay fantasy so they are GAY, GAY, GAY, GAY, GAY, GAY, GAY!
|by Anonymous||reply 160||06/06/2010|
No way is Pique gay. I have a friend who looks a lot like him, and he is straight.
WTF r155? Somebody isn't gay because he looks like your straight friend? So people that look like your gay friends are definitely gay?
|by Anonymous||reply 161||06/06/2010|
I for one have no problem with us at Datalounge to still discuss the picture and the soccer players involved while the outside world has already moved on.
|by Anonymous||reply 162||06/06/2010|
If r160 is a gay man, I'm the Queen of England.
The damage control continues. Many clips about the infamous Pique/Ibra pic are being removed from youtube.
Too much for a "one day joke", don't you think?
|by Anonymous||reply 163||06/06/2010|
There is nothing wrong with fantasy! The are GAY GAY GAY GAY!
|by Anonymous||reply 164||06/06/2010|
the damage control continues. Many clips about the infamous Pique/Ibra pic are being removed from youtube.
You're right. The youtube video at R93 link, has just disappeared after being posted for a month.
|by Anonymous||reply 165||06/06/2010|
There are still many clips, So no damage control!
|by Anonymous||reply 166||06/06/2010|
I didn't say that ALL the clips have been deleted. I said that MANY are being removed, which is true. It's happening since a couple of days ago.
|by Anonymous||reply 167||06/06/2010|
It's sad that this incident is now just the object of ridicule in the media. If both were (voluntarily) out, it would have been a sweet and lovely moment of affection captured on picture. Denying everything turns it into the total opposite. Now everybody learns again that public affection is a horrible thing. It doesn't just have a chilling affect for gay men but also for platonic (straight) men who shouldn't be afraid to show some emotion.
|by Anonymous||reply 168||06/06/2010|
It seems that Pique likes to kiss guys....
|by Anonymous||reply 169||06/07/2010|
Awww...that is very sweet.
|by Anonymous||reply 170||06/07/2010|
That last pic is very, very gay.
|by Anonymous||reply 171||06/07/2010|
Obvious you peoples in America not heard about ZaZa.
|by Anonymous||reply 172||06/07/2010|

|by Anonymous||reply 173||06/07/2010|
Love the last photo. He's so cute.
|by Anonymous||reply 174||06/07/2010|
Pique looks better without the beard. BOTH beards.
|by Anonymous||reply 175||06/07/2010|
R169: "It seems that Pique likes to kiss guys..."
Sure he likes it.
Here's Gerard kissing Ibrahimovic:
|by Anonymous||reply 176||06/07/2010|
Gerard just needs to come out.
|by Anonymous||reply 177||06/07/2010|
What about wives and gf? Are they beards or have they been fooled into it? And don't they have kids?
|by Anonymous||reply 178||06/07/2010|
I guess some WAGs are beards and others have been fooled into it.
Barcelona coach, Pep Guardiola, is married and has three kids.
And everybody in Spain knows he's gay. The director of Spanish gay magazine Zero almost outed him when he mentioned that the coach of one of the most important teams of Spanish football league, was gay although he was married and had kids.
|by Anonymous||reply 179||06/07/2010|
|by Anonymous||reply 180||06/07/2010|
Guardiola's wife has always struck me as rather mannish and homely. Couple of pics at the link.
|by Anonymous||reply 181||06/07/2010|
thanks for that info, I agree, that pretty much outs Pep.
|by Anonymous||reply 182||06/07/2010|
It's funny, Manel Estiarte, Peps longtime rumored lover, works for Barca FC now, and for Pep as his spokesman. He has a solid relationship with the players too, and gave the last speach when Barcelona celebrated the 2010 la liga win at camp nou. I've wondered if the players knew Manels real relationship with Pep, and I think they do. Here's a great interview with Manel about Pep and the team:
|by Anonymous||reply 183||06/07/2010|
I remember when Pep was still a player at Barca. He always came across as smart and educated (studied law) unlike the typical footballer.
So gay rumours only about Pep, Pique and, now, Ibrahimovic? I'll say I'm suprised because he doesn't ping at all. Makes me wonder, what's the gossip, gay or otherwise, about other current and previous Barca stars? Anything on Messi, Puyol, Eto'o, Henry, Toure or Ronaldinho?
|by Anonymous||reply 184||06/09/2010|
Who's girlfriend r156?
|by Anonymous||reply 185||06/09/2010|
I agree, Zlatan does not ping. The only gay rumors I have heard of the Barca players are Pique (and the jokes that he gets it on with Bojan), Xavi, Henry (who's rumored to be on the DL with Longorias husband Tony Parker) and Rafael Marquez.
|by Anonymous||reply 186||06/09/2010|
Those who think that Zlatan doesn't ping should watch the youtube video posted at R91 link. Zlatan was caught by a camera blatantly checking out another footballer when he was still playing in Italy. The gay rumors about him started then.
Also, Zlatan is married to a woman who is 13 years older than him and looks like a tranny.
|by Anonymous||reply 187||06/09/2010|
"It seems that Pique likes to kiss guys...."
But then who DOESN'T?
|by Anonymous||reply 188||06/09/2010|
Dang, R187 - that was a full-fledged scan! Zlatan is cute too, in that gruff Slavic way.
|by Anonymous||reply 189||06/09/2010|
Awww, Zlatan isn't so bad after all. Love his top 5 feminist statements, who would have thought.
|by Anonymous||reply 190||06/09/2010|
straight guys and lesbians? And certantly not on the lips, unless it's a cultural thing where they live.
|by Anonymous||reply 191||06/09/2010|
I hope that Pique s tapping this ass. They make a cute couple:
|by Anonymous||reply 192||06/09/2010|
That one guys is smokin hot, though, right?
|by Anonymous||reply 193||06/12/2010|
No straight guy would say that his favorite movie is The Notebook.
|by Anonymous||reply 194||06/12/2010|
The Notebook is a total chick flick. Either he came out as gay or it's one of those "I like long walks at the beach, looking into the sunset" sort of frau pleasers straight guys say to seduce a woman.
|by Anonymous||reply 195||06/12/2010|
Cute photo of Pique and Bojan.
|by Anonymous||reply 196||06/12/2010|
Bojan looks like his kid brother.
|by Anonymous||reply 197||06/12/2010|
Uber-gay Taylor Lautner (from the Twilight saga) has just said during the promotion of "Eclipse", that his favorite movie is The Notebook.
|by Anonymous||reply 198||06/12/2010|
Check out this website for Bojan and Pique. For Bojan must be heartbroken.
|by Anonymous||reply 199||06/12/2010|
|by Anonymous||reply 200||06/12/2010|
Bojan will survive, he has found love with Henry:
|by Anonymous||reply 201||06/13/2010|
Very cute Henry and Bojan.
|by Anonymous||reply 202||06/13/2010|
Henry is gay now? Anyway, Bojan is so cute, I doubt anyone gay or otherwise could stand next to him and not hug him.
|by Anonymous||reply 203||06/13/2010|
Spain against the Swiss on the 16th. I always root for spain, hopefully Spains World Cup curse will come to an end this summer.
|by Anonymous||reply 204||06/14/2010|
R202 This is cute.
|by Anonymous||reply 205||06/14/2010|
Well if Pique is gay, he's a top.
|by Anonymous||reply 206||06/14/2010|
The pics of Gerard Pique with Bojan are too cute.
But his pics with Ibrahimovic are HOT:
|by Anonymous||reply 207||06/14/2010|
true, they look great together.
|by Anonymous||reply 208||06/14/2010|
Pique isn't gay, Ibrahimovic might be.
|by Anonymous||reply 209||06/14/2010|
R209 I think most likely both are bisexual or bicurious. I just believe there is very little these guys would turn down.
|by Anonymous||reply 210||06/14/2010|
It looks like a scene from a gay romantic movie:
|by Anonymous||reply 211||06/14/2010|
I'm sorry r209, but Pique pings to high heaven.
|by Anonymous||reply 212||06/14/2010|
I agree. I'd say it's the other way around, R209. Pique pings. I don't get a reading from Ibrahimovic though, but he might be bi or something. Pique seems gay, and him and Bojan together just reinforced that.
|by Anonymous||reply 213||06/14/2010|
"The pics of Gerard Pique with Bojan are too cute. But his pics with Ibrahimovic are HOT"
Yes, very true. That must be the reason Barcelona is trying to tranfer Ibra to another team.
Is that Pep Guardiola doesn't like the gay rumors about his footballers?
Oh the irony!
|by Anonymous||reply 214||06/15/2010|
A player on the Paraguayan team was shot in the head back in January! OMG. This is so awful.
|by Anonymous||reply 215||06/15/2010|
Pique's reaction to the controversy was to shrug it off and laugh about it, while Zlatan got worked up and even went into slinging around the world 'faggot' to a journalist. From the clip and pics that I have seen of Pique and Bojan, Pique seems like a very touchy feely guy, who clearly cares very little about how people react to it. Zlatan is most likely in the closet and any threat to his straight image he reacts with aggression.
|by Anonymous||reply 216||06/15/2010|
What kind of car is that?
The one in the original pic that started this thread? It kind of looks like an Aston Martin DB8.
And those two soccer dudes are gay, period.
|by Anonymous||reply 217||06/15/2010|
R216, that seems very likely. I think it's something like that too. Clearly he wouldn't react like he did if what happened with Pique was nothing. I think he's hiding something and it's obvious from his "excuse" to why it happened.
Pique is like most other Spaniards, no problems what so ever with gay people. Zlatan is eastern european, and therefore has an eastern european macho attitude. Typical homophobic people.
|by Anonymous||reply 218||06/15/2010|
I believe the one who invents a proper gaydar device that works (with little adjustments) all over the world should win immediately a Nobel prize.
|by Anonymous||reply 219||06/15/2010|
I think Pique's reaction proves he isn't gay, Zlatan's suggest he might be.
|by Anonymous||reply 220||06/15/2010|
Yes, R220. I would agree, it's just that I get a gay vibe from Pique, and the way he looked at Ibrahimovic, there was obviously something there. He seems very close with most other team mates too. I think there's something there. I think he's gay. Sure, some people are naturally touchy feely, and he may be too, I just think there's more to it that that..
And like I said, you have to see where they come from. Pique is Spanish, they are very gay friendly, unlike the eastern european countries.
|by Anonymous||reply 221||06/15/2010|
How did the photographer manage to capture this moment? Did she just sit and wait outside and just caught it by incident? Or did she get a tip off?
|by Anonymous||reply 222||06/15/2010|
I agree with R221. Pique may be a touchy guy but his pics with Abrahimovic are very different from the other pics. The way he was looking at Ibrahimovic, the way they interwined their fingers...
Besides, Pique obviously lied when he said that while that pic was taken, they were talking about a book. As someone has said before, which book they were talking about? The gay Kama Sutra?
|by Anonymous||reply 223||06/15/2010|
I live in Spain and I'm tired of hearing comments like "hey, they're not gay, they're European!' or Pique is straight because "straight guys in Spain touch each other like that all the time".
That's simply NOT TRUE. That doesn't happen.
In Spain, when you see a couple of guys acting like Pique and Ibra in the famous pic, is because they're GAY.
|by Anonymous||reply 224||06/15/2010|
R223 Maybe they were discussing a romance novel and one was showing the other how the characters in the book would interact. LOL!
|by Anonymous||reply 225||06/15/2010|
well said, I was about to say the same thing.
|by Anonymous||reply 226||06/15/2010|
If it's gay football gossip you want, just google any of the main football forums. The same gossip tends tends to circulate. But football fans notoriously make up shit about rival teams' players so take anything you read with a pinch of salt.
|by Anonymous||reply 227||06/15/2010|
Is Pique or Zlatan playing in the World Cup?
|by Anonymous||reply 228||06/19/2010|
Only Pique is in the World Cup. Spain plays Honduras on Monday. Sadly for Zlatan, Sweden didn't qualify.
|by Anonymous||reply 229||06/19/2010|
R229 Ok thanks.
|by Anonymous||reply 230||06/19/2010|
I'm a little late to the party but this quote from Peruvian footballer Roberto Silva cracks me up:
"I have suspicions that there are some gays in football. Sometimes you can't help but wonder about it. I am not a gay, but if I was, or if I was a woman, which is similar, I would do David Beckham. But that's just my individual opinion."
|by Anonymous||reply 231||06/19/2010|
R231 Everyone would do David Beckham, that isn't proof of anything!
|by Anonymous||reply 232||06/19/2010|
R230 I never said it was proof of anything. I said the quote is funny.
|by Anonymous||reply 233||06/19/2010|
That must be the reason Barcelona is trying to tranfer Ibra to another team.
Is that Pep Guardiola doesn't like the gay rumors about his footballers?
Ibra hasn't adjusted very well to Barca's style of play in the first season. There really isn't anything definitive suggesting a transfer. It's the silly season where all sorts of rumors about sales and player movements come up.
|by Anonymous||reply 234||06/19/2010|
Pique during press conference.
|by Anonymous||reply 235||06/20/2010|

|by Anonymous||reply 238||06/20/2010|
He is one beautiful man....sigh
|by Anonymous||reply 239||06/20/2010|
I hope something happened these two guys but still frames doesn't prove much. The photographer would have certainly taken out a couple more pics, if something was actually happening in that parking lot.
|by Anonymous||reply 240||06/20/2010|
Is there another sport with hotter players than football? I'm watching the World Cup and DAMN!
|by Anonymous||reply 241||06/20/2010|
Pique has such beautifully manicured hands.
|by Anonymous||reply 242||06/20/2010|
Agreed. But it looks like it's all natural with him, I think he's just been lucky. The hands, the lips the and the piercing blue eyes, so many nice details.. :)
|by Anonymous||reply 243||06/20/2010|
Pique is one well put together guy, who I think is straight, unfortunately.
|by Anonymous||reply 244||06/20/2010|

How do people draw conclusions? Is "gay" considered like a plague or something?
|by Anonymous||reply 245||06/20/2010|
"who I think is straight"
Well, you may think that he's straight but that's not the rumor in Barcelona....
BTW, the pic was accidentally taken by a Barcelona fan who happened to be at the parking lot. No paparazzies there so it makes sense that he/she only took one picture.
|by Anonymous||reply 246||06/20/2010|
That could have been just a brief moment of indiscretion, R240. Not even openly and proudly gay men will make out on a street during daylight.
|by Anonymous||reply 247||06/20/2010|
you mean there are rumors about Pique beyond the Zlatan photo? Even before the photo?
|by Anonymous||reply 248||06/20/2010|
Yep. That's what I've heard.
The same goes for Barcelona manager Josep Guardiola.
|by Anonymous||reply 249||06/20/2010|
There is no question that Pique is straight, anyone who thinks otherwise is wishful thinking.
|by Anonymous||reply 250||06/20/2010|
I think we have a fangurl on this thread wishing that Pique is straight.
|by Anonymous||reply 251||06/20/2010|
There is no question that Pique is straight, anyone who thinks otherwise is wishful thinking.
Straight as in "straight" but fucks guys. He's "hotter" that way.
|by Anonymous||reply 252||06/20/2010|
"Straight as in "straight" but fucks guys."
That's how alot of these macho footballers class themselves, Pique and Zlatan included.
|by Anonymous||reply 253||06/20/2010|
Like people who consider themselves vegans or vegetarians when they occasionally do eat meat and fish.
|by Anonymous||reply 254||06/20/2010|
This whole situation is hard to place. If Pique is gay he is way too bold to be considered closeted. He is constantly touching, hugging, and nudging his little shadow Bojan, in full view of cameras, it is either he is not straight and doesn't care if anyone catches on, or he is straight and secure enough in his heterosexality to behave in that manner with another guy, or he is very European. And why would two guys, who are attempting to hide something, openly display this degree of affection toward each other in an parking lot of all places?
|by Anonymous||reply 255||06/20/2010|
I know, the message on DL is clear, if you are gay and want to get laid by other men, get married, call yourself a bisexual (unless you already are a legit closeted bi) and butch up. That way there won't be any more gays, just "straight" guys as far as the eye can see, just like Datalounge gays and religious fundies like it!
|by Anonymous||reply 256||06/20/2010|
This guy facinates me. Gerard Pique's nonchalant attitude about the photo is very telling. Footballer's are notoriously homophobic. Recent examples include England's Rio Ferdinand calling a presenter "faggot" before realising he was on live radio and then tried to backtrack and apologise; Italy's World Cup winning captain, Fabio Cannavaro, sayx he doesn't think there are any gays in football and that he wouldn't tolerate a gay teammate.
BTW, I know he's probably straight, but what came of the scandal with Ashley Cole and that DJ? Everyone in England assumes he's straight.
|by Anonymous||reply 257||06/20/2010|
@R252, in the pics of Pique with Bojan they look like brothers. Pique's pic with Ibrahimovic is something totally different.
Regarding Pique's reaction after the pic I wouldn't say that he had a nonchalant attitude. Sure, he was more subtle than Ibrahimovic but the very first thing he did, was parading an unknown 'girlfriend' at a public event with lots of paps and mentioning said 'girlfriend' in the interview where he was asked about the pic.

I don't know.. I'd say both are gay, they just come from different countries, with different attitudes to gay people. It's the way Pique looks at Zlatan, I think it's very telling. He probably figures there's no need to hide because a) him being gay is an open secret or b) attitudes towards gay people are relaxed in Spain. He doesn't need to be homophobic to prove he isn't gay. Zlatan on the other hand, well.. That's a different story.
This whole thing is kinda tricky to figure out, and I guess we never will. Football is, and will forever be, a homophobic sport. No gay football player will come out in the near future.
BTW, I know he's probably straight, but what came of the scandal with Ashley Cole and that DJ? Everyone in England assumes he's straight.
Outcome of the Cashley and DJ scandal is at the link. I do think that Cole has as problem with alcohol that leads to disinhibition, so who knows what really happened. This problem also put him in situations with all of those women. If I'm not mistaken, most reported that he was quite drunk. One even said that he paused during their "lovemaking" to throw up on the floor next to their bed. All of them said he didn't use condoms and one said she was paid for an abortion.

More Pique info from his profile:
Gerard was born in Barcelona on Feb. 2, 1987. He’s 1.92 m tall and weighs 85 kg.
His father was a lawyer, and his mother the director of a hospital clinic in Barcelona. At the age of 8, he entered La Masía and stayed there for the next seven years. Geri’s idol as a kid was Fernando Hierro. He has released an autobiography entitled “Viaje de ida y vuelta.” He listens to Lady Gaga [please tell me he also dances like her] and Rihanna, and his favorite song is Edward Maya’s “Stereolove.”
Geri is very popular with females, and has a girlfriend. At times he also works as model.

More from the site:
Gerard Piqué - he likes to play practical jokes, and has been known to switch his teammates’ yogurts for mashed potato. He said, “the day I fall in love is the day I’ll get married.”
|by Anonymous||reply 265||06/20/2010|
Well, R265, I guess he doesn't need to worry then. When he finds the right guy he can get married. They do have gay marriage in Spain. Oh and btw, thanks for posting that. Interesting to read.
|by Anonymous||reply 266||06/20/2010|
I don't know one straight guy that would admit to listening to Lady Gaga and Rihanna. Or maybe I need to get out more.
|by Anonymous||reply 267||06/20/2010|
You just have to go to any football forum discussing the picture and it is a clear indication as to why footballers are better off perpetuating the straight male image. The homophobia and bigotry are stewed to perfection. Anyone willing to come out, will have all the respect from me, but he has to except his footballing career will be over.
|by Anonymous||reply 268||06/20/2010|
Or r268, he'll make a change in our culture that desperately needs it.
|by Anonymous||reply 269||06/20/2010|
Link from OP's post. This is pretty cool. I wish more footballers and officials would do something like this.
|by Anonymous||reply 270||06/20/2010|
If Pique were to come out, the effects would be seismic. The fact that Pique:
1.Plays for arguably the world's biggest and best supported club.
2.)Is a ruthless take no prisoners defender who's genuinely one of the best in the world at what he does.
3.)Is both conventionally and unconventionally beautiul (if that makes any sense).
4. Unlike David "Overrated" Beckham, has a personality and some semblance of a working brain.
|by Anonymous||reply 271||06/21/2010|
Who is Thierry Henry currently dating? His English wife certainly didn't expect the divorce he sprung. Is he really on the DL?
I find Ashley Cole very sleazy and I'm glad he's straight. The only Cole worth looking at is Carlton.
Pic, sort of NSFW.
|by Anonymous||reply 272||06/21/2010|
I wonder if the players know that Pep is gay and accept it and simply don't care. Or if it's an open secret no one dares mention. If it's the first one, it would be easier for a gay player on Barca, he could maybe be out to his team, even if he's not out to the media.
|by Anonymous||reply 273||06/21/2010|
Ted Casablanca is running Blind Items about a couple everyone believes is Tony Parker and Eva Longoria. They are swingers, and both prefer men. Since Henry and Parker are such close friends, people mentioned that maybe Henry was on the DL as well, as a joke. Longorias BI name was Secretia Ohio and Parkers was Marky something or other.
|by Anonymous||reply 274||06/21/2010|
Correction, that would be Secretia Ohio and Chester Shorts-Off.
|by Anonymous||reply 275||06/21/2010|

|by Anonymous||reply 276||06/21/2010|
Beckham is probably one of the only few gay friendly football players out there, I'd also say Lee Sharp was too, but both are straight. So I would think it's a pretty safe bet Pique is not gay, but belongs to that tiny group of gay friendly football players. It's the homophobic ones who are more likely to be closet cases.
|by Anonymous||reply 277||06/21/2010|
R277, you're assuming too many things.
There are straight footballers that are homophobes ( like Cannavaro).
And there are closet cases that are gay friendly, especially in Spain.
|by Anonymous||reply 278||06/21/2010|
R268 is right though, most of the tosh on football forums, well I wouldn't say it represents ALL of the football fan fraternity but it constitutes a large chunk and man, they are stupid in the most part.
You wonder what age these people are stuck in?
|by Anonymous||reply 279||06/21/2010|
"Henry is gay now? Anyway, Bojan is so cute, I doubt anyone gay or otherwise could stand next to him and not hug him."
Actually back in the day when DL was dear old DL, not egomegasonic DL V or whatever it is, there were a few footballer threads. This would be about 2005/6.
Someone actually posted that Thierry Henry was indeed gay and that was the reason he had left his club and his wife and taken off aboraod from England. Supposedly he was escorting a young boyfriend about openly in Europe around this time.
That's not to say it's true but it was out there even back then.
Other things I've read/seen from around the web that are quite juicy (believe or disbelieve I don't know if they're true), so allegedly, here's what I got:
Liverpool's Steven Gerrard seen kissing a guy at one of the Liverpool nightclubs a few years ago.
Chelsea's Michael Ballack(?) in a relationship with another man.
Guti seen out and photographed kissing someone who looked suspiciously like a guy who was later dismissed as 'his sister'. A feat even Nan Michygan Wymen could never achieve and that's saying something. (It was a man, baby!)
Guti divorcing his wife and later showing up in various star-spangled jackets and trouser sets looking like a memeber of Rainbow Brite's playset and doing othing to dispel the rumours.
Ronaldo supposedly dating a male doctor while at Man U.
Jose Mourinho allegedly being the one-time lover of Sir Bobby Robson while at Barca.
Thierry Henry: see above.
Maradonna being somewhat closeted and still pulling mystery women from his ass in interviews (and still getting their descriptions confused), then verbally attacking Pele for once kissing a man.
Sol Campbell. Bisexual by some accounts and has a genuine girlfriend or possible beard. Has been dogged by horrid rumours he has AIDs and has been tormented by 'fans' for years about it.
Liverpool's Fernando Torres: once read on a forum he told someone he was 'bi curious'. Someone else claimed he was in a relationship with Man City's Stephen Ireland though this could have been a joke based on the fact Ireland had just been photogrphed in a bright pink car.
Ashley Cole: or if you live in England: Ca$hley Cole. Rumoured he is gay and was one of the infamous bunch caught dildoing themselves into oblivion with their mobile phones. Subsequently rushed marriage to alleged 'racist' Cheryl Tweedy of Girls Aloud fame, and his later well-tabloided 'indiscretions' with all kinds of female slappers (not very convincing imo), but still, anything's better than bieng gay right? Even being sick halfway through sex with said slapper. (Too much info, Ca$hley, too much info).
Have since read both he and Tweeders are in a marriage of convinience, both are gay and it allows them to carry on while maintaining a public image. Tweedy is current UK "public darling no 1" (aka, she gets rammed down our throats) so as such nothing would be a surprise at this point.
Ally McCoist (the Great)
Here's a few more (mostly British gossip) I gleaned off the net:
"Rumours abounded about a certain player from Aston Villa that was caught in a gay club close to Villa park.(ex Leeds Utd,Notts Forest and England).Villa immediately placed him on the transfer list rather than the story come out."
"Surprise surprise, Stevie G has tendencies."
"Mido is gay.Van Persie is bi."
"Ryan Giggs, Steven Gerrard, Cesc Fabregas and Joe Cole are gay.
Wayne Rooney, Robbie Keane, Tim Cahill and Elano are bisexual."
"Well, while I was at Aston Villa I copped off with Juan Pablo Angel! Hes rough and tough, hes gone to New York now, plenty more gay bars there!
I also know many gay footballers. I shared a kiss with Shay Given, hes a great ball catcher Got to say, Van Persie is a sex god! Also, I told the papers David Beckham wasnt gay."
"last week in a bar in gateshead i had a steamy encounter with an ireland footballer who plies his trade with sunderland. he is a ginger defender,formally of West Brom and Man U and has the initials PM"
|by Anonymous||reply 280||06/21/2010|
Some more, see if you ccan work thse intitaials out:
From late 2008 footy forum gossip:
"Club by club, there are rumors around
(Man Utd) WR R vN GN WB RG
(L'pool) RK SG
(Portsmouth) MT SC"
"David Prutton is. Fact."
"Just a few roumours i've heard over the years
Paul ince and ryan giggs were VERY close, James mcfadden, and john o'shea had a fling with wll young. Jesper blomquvist (ex man utd and palmer winger) was gay Alan smth, ruud van nistelrooy, are ment to be gay
But most speculation surrounds arsenal,
Van persie, overmars, fredrik ljungberg, henry, sol campbell, ashley cole, jermaine pennent, david bentley, senderos, have all said to be gay and played for arsenal at sometime and all played under Wenger who is always had rumours about his sexuallity,
I personnally think it is wrong and should not be encouraged but each to there own and i'll stick to woman,

|by Anonymous||reply 283||06/21/2010|
Forgot to add: Ally McCoist, some guy claimed this year he'd been at a urinal and McCosit had turned up, checked him out and they had a fumble.
Oh and just to say there might be a grain of truth to one or two of these names, here's a newsflash from Mr PR himself (the same guy who repps Simon Cowell):
"(Max)Clifford added: "I've had two high-profile Premier League football clients in the past five years who've been gay or bisexual and my advice has been not to make that public. For a top player to come out, I would envisage they'd be a hard man, with an established reputation, and perhaps a year or two at most left in the game, so if coming out brought too much hardship, it wouldn't matter so much professionally."
|by Anonymous||reply 284||06/21/2010|

Pique and Fabregas are actually very good friends since growing up together living at La Masia academy, and Pique has been very vocal on bringing Fabregas to Barca, which they are trying to do now. the Fabregas gay rumors become even more easy to believe when you see photos where the guy poses cutesy like this:
|by Anonymous||reply 287||06/21/2010|
Oh and yeah, Fabregas also plays for Arsenal under Wenger, maybe the conspiracy is true, lol.
|by Anonymous||reply 288||06/21/2010|
Which forums have you gleaned this gossip from R280, R281? Links? The reason I ask is that, as already meantioned, so many football forums are terribly homophobic, not just with reference to the Pique/Ibra picture. The best way these unintelligent troglodytes think they drum up support for their club and put down opposing club players is to make slurs against players.
From late 2008 footy forum gossip: "Club by club, there are rumors around (Man Utd) WR R vN GN WB RG

|by Anonymous||reply 289||06/21/2010|
Rooney gay/bi? Hard to believe, not beause of the way he looks, but beause of the way he acts. He's like the anti-ping.
|by Anonymous||reply 290||06/21/2010|
Yeah and we all know how reliable the 'anti ping' is.
Nobody thought this guy (link) was gay either, a black metal musician imprisoned for assault and torture.
He's just won Gay of the Year Award in Scandinavia so....
|by Anonymous||reply 291||06/21/2010|
I'm Norwegian and the Heavy Metal scene pinges like nothing else, not everyone was that suprised he came out. Dressing up in costumes and make-up and all the theatrics, puhlease, GAY!
Rooney on the other hand, now that would suprise me.

|by Anonymous||reply 294||06/21/2010|
R263 I've read in various places on the net that Ashley Cole is bi. He was married to Cheryl Cole and they are divorcing because he cheated on her (with a girl, before anyone asks).
|by Anonymous||reply 295||06/21/2010|
There's rumours two of Girls Aloud are lesbians, maybe it's her.
|by Anonymous||reply 296||06/21/2010|
They might have known it in Norway r292 (who just happens to be Norwegian), but other cultures didn't expect it judging by a lot of the metal feedback.
You could argue the same about footballers actually; a bunch of men using any excuse to cry, fall and hug/jump one another and shower kisses when a goal is scored = gay.
The point is, pingdar isn't always reliable acoss different cultures.
I'm not convinced myself about Rooney but I do know that these stories about one night stands with random slappers are usually planted to cover up much more meaningfull indiscretions.
|by Anonymous||reply 297||06/21/2010|
I didnt say it was impossible he was gay, I just said it was highly unlikely if we are to go by any sensible gaydar, the stereotypes don't come from nowhere either. So yes, Rooney could be gay, but my-oh-my do I think the odds are against it, if we are going to go by what "pings" at least. It's not like I know him personally. But I do get what you mean, it's not impossible.
|by Anonymous||reply 298||06/21/2010|
R294, Gerard has also been hit very hard in the balls just before half time.
|by Anonymous||reply 299||06/21/2010|
R292/8, with ref to Rooney the only things I could find about him (which was little) was that someone claimed he was bisexual, not gay. In UK footie culture that could be no more than mock kissing a man as a dare in the dressing room = becoming 'gay' overnight.
I wouldn't have taken it seriously if it had been in a list of 'gays' because I know these rumours can be started by rival fans. It caught my attention because it was put into a subcategory of bisexuals. The average football mad nut doesn't even know bisexuals exist except for women in porn. They'd just call all men gay as an insult, esp a rival team member.
The other rumour was that is was 'a rumour' (see top of page with initials) but didn't specify about what or whom, just that some sort of same-sex issue was implied. Rooney has a wife and child (who I believe he is very genuine about) but it is still easier for us to believe that Pep Guardiola (also with wife and children) with a law degree and clean cut looks is gay (on equally no evidence) than Rooney, who is actively in physical contact with men all the time.
I only mention it because it cropped up with a slew of other names that would also be considered under the radar.
|by Anonymous||reply 300||06/21/2010|
Oh, yes, that too, r299. It looked like it took a while to walk if off.
I've always though it strange that footballers don't wear cups. It would help a bit. Freeballing.
|by Anonymous||reply 301||06/21/2010|
You forgot about the church fires, R291.
|by Anonymous||reply 302||06/21/2010|
I like that you took the time and posted it, we get a feel of what's out there. And yeah, football fans are quick to call the rival team players gay, for nothing usually. The only rumor that seems very believable to me so far is Guardiola, I believe he is the coach that the Spanish gay magazine editor was talking about. And sure, it doesn't help his case that he fits many of the gay stereotypes either :P
|by Anonymous||reply 303||06/21/2010|
Over on ONTD, yeah I know I know but those girls get the gossip first, there was a huge flap some months ago when Pep mentioned 'homo' in Italian and because nobody could translate everyone assumed he was declaring his homosexuality. I don't think anyone ever did translate the interview but it sounded as if he were addressing the rumours to some extent.
Ah 302, glad you mentioned the churches. That would be sir Varg of Vikernes of black metallers Burzum who set fire to Bergen churches and was jailed after for the murder of fellow metaller Euroymous. And yes there was a homophobic element to it. Black metal might be deemed a bit more gay friendly now but back in the 80s/90s with the spate of Satanism, church burning and murders over who was the biggest 'fag' in the eyes of Satan, it wasn't so comical.
Dark times were they.
Anyways, back to the footy....
|by Anonymous||reply 304||06/21/2010|
I like that pic of Cesc. I'd have to agree that he does look kinda gay. Him and Pique being friends is cute. The idea of him and Pique being more than friends is hot! They are both good looking guys.
|by Anonymous||reply 305||06/21/2010|
I watched the Spain/Honduras match in Caracas and when Pique was hit in the balls the commentator said: Ooooohhh, I bet Zlatan is crying".
It's understandable that the players choose the closet in this kind of environment

R306 The announcer said that?? I am a bit torn it is both funny and insulting at the same time.
|by Anonymous||reply 308||06/21/2010|
Perhaps what's happening between Pique and Zlatan (and many other closeted footballers around the world) is something like this:
|by Anonymous||reply 309||06/21/2010|
I think the rest of the civilized world realises that gay and bisexual footballers exist, it would just take football as a sport a while to accept this and move forward. R309 Thanks for that video.
|by Anonymous||reply 310||06/21/2010|
Yeah [r308], and the other announcers in the studio laughed, but what makes it worse is that all the announcers were a bunch of ugly, fat fucks that would probably melt if they saw Pique in person
|by Anonymous||reply 311||06/21/2010|
What I never got is the WAG culture within football. Are all footballers so superficial that every one of them must have an empty headed supermodel or former beauty on his arm?
|by Anonymous||reply 312||06/21/2010|
|by Anonymous||reply 313||06/21/2010|
I don't think any other picture or Hollywood poster depicting two people in love, that I will ever see in the future can surpass the level of affection and love of these two guys have shown in a single picture. Too bad the footballing world, is too small- minded for such a relationship to exist freely and openly. Please check out a series in Argentina called 'Botineras' on youtube. I can't help but think the series' main cast, are representative of some famous footballers.
|by Anonymous||reply 314||06/21/2010|
A selection of love scenes between the two footballers on "Botineras," probably NSFW:
|by Anonymous||reply 315||06/21/2010|

|by Anonymous||reply 318||06/21/2010|
Terry was disciplined for screwing one of his teamates WAGS not to long ago, it was public and very messy. I don't see any gay rumours surrounding him any time soon.

No but it doesn't stop him and Lampard's 'close' relationship being speculated on. The fangurls love it.

The last few pages of this thread are hilarious.
You lads have decided half of Europe's footballers are gay. The truth is they are man whores who will stick their dick in any willing Vag.
Steven Gerrard isn't bi or gay and Wayne Rooney doesn't have a gay sinew in his ugly body. Wayne is a nice lad though, in-spite of his poor image.
|by Anonymous||reply 322||06/22/2010|
Oh fuck self important little nazi at r322, it's a gossip site.
Take your meds and piss off, Mary. You know jack about them either. All you know is their public image.
Europe's collective footballers consist of more than the mere handful we've mentioned.
|by Anonymous||reply 323||06/22/2010|
Weren't Rooney and Ronaldo in a steamy hot bromance that got Datalounge in a total frenzy over a year ago?
|by Anonymous||reply 324||06/22/2010|
I agree r322, it is pure fiction, but there are a very few closeted gay players, I doubt very many at all.
Sol Campbell has a long standing and frequent rumour he is gay. It's pretty much all over the place, in fact Campbell's brother was jailed for a year for attacking a university classmate who suggested that Sol was gay.
It's been said Brit Pop Idol Will Young has dated a few of the closeted players, one was a serious relationship, the rumour was John O'Shea or Matt Taylor, but both rumours were dismissed by Young.
The main focus of the thread seems to be if Pique is gay, and I can tell you with a degree of certainty, sadly, he is not.
|by Anonymous||reply 325||06/22/2010|
What makes you so certain Pique is not gay/bi? I'm not doubting you or anything, I just wish you'd be a bit more specific.
|by Anonymous||reply 326||06/22/2010|
I agree [R322], it is pure fiction, but there are a very few closeted gay players, I doubt very many at all.
I can tell you have very little experience with athletes of any sport. The fact you "doubt" says how little you know - but speaks volumes about your ignorance.
But, I enjoy reading about "doubts" made by gay men. They are fun.
|by Anonymous||reply 327||06/22/2010|
While the identities of gay footballers are hardly ever known because they are so deeply closeted, in their working life anyway, the story is that the rumours of a players sexuality starts from within the team.
There are stories of the wild nights, where players tag team girls, or the orgies and endless accounts of their sex lives to each other. When a player tends to back away from these displays of heteroness they gay rumours start from the other players themselves.
There is now the infamous rumour of the "faggot test" by a team, they story goes on an away match, the team brought up a couple of scuzzy strippers to their suit and had them put of a lesbian strip while the players all exposed their dicks, any player who didn't get hard would be deemed a faggot and punished.
|by Anonymous||reply 328||06/22/2010|
Is the "faggot test" a widespread phenomenon with euro teams, or is it more of a Premier League thing? I get the feeling homophobia is more extreme among Italian and English teams than Spanish teams for example. But maybe I'm wrong.
|by Anonymous||reply 329||06/22/2010|
The soccer fangurls love the WAGs.
Especially if the object of their affection is rumored to be gay...

This is total bullshit and would make headlines. This is discrimination against gay people as a whole, especially with the word "faggot" being so loosely used by people in the media. Regardless of where oyul ive. Gay Rights groups would be all over this.
deemed a faggot and punished
This is something right out of the Middle East. This would make headlines with how inhumane it is to gay people as a people.
How do homophobic men find this web site? Do the threads leek onto Google or something?
|by Anonymous||reply 331||06/22/2010|
Isn't there something gay about setting up a situation in which teammates could see all the others nude and "sporting" erections?
|by Anonymous||reply 332||06/22/2010|
After everything I've read about footballers and orgies, it seems plausible that the "faggot test" might have happened, hopefully it's not common, its extremely homophobic. But straight orgies and footballers seem to go hand in hand, at least among a portion of UK footballers. There's been countless of this behavior revealed in the UK press. They are basically sharing the same girl/s, taking turns.
|by Anonymous||reply 333||06/22/2010|
"Faggot Test" is plausible? This phrase and the "punishment" is plausible? It is completely not true but I certainly hope that gay people would not allow this phrase to even exist. This is just some asshole coming here and starting shit.
If it were true, it would make headlines. Seriously, you think a "Kike Test" wouldn't make headlines? or a "Nigger Test"?
I doubt this "test" exists because groups like the ACLU and the HRC would make this huge and you would have heard about it either from the media somewhere.
The phrase and what this asshole describes sounds like lynching of gay people.
|by Anonymous||reply 334||06/22/2010|
its extremely homophobic
It's beyond that.
|by Anonymous||reply 335||06/22/2010|
The faggot test would make all these players look overly obsessed with homesexuality to the point that they want to find out who they can offer their cock to to get it sucked.
|by Anonymous||reply 336||06/22/2010|
Thanks for the video R309. Hate the music but love the story. It looks so REAL, specially the bit when one of the closeted footballers parades a 'girlfriend' in front of the cameras.
|by Anonymous||reply 337||06/22/2010|
I can't find anything about "The Faggot Test" anywhere so far. No message boards or discussions on it at all. You'd think there would be something out there seeming that even very secret, underground homosexual behavior in the Middle Eastern or anywhere is talked about on the Internet. Maybe one of the "scuzzy strippers" would come forward for an expose' and leek information about "The Faggot Test". But, no.
|by Anonymous||reply 338||06/22/2010|
"The Faggot Test" alone in the world of sports is big enough for HRC or the ACLU to make a fuss. You could fine that sports administration millions. But, there is also a principle involved which gay groups would react to mostly.

I think when they meant "punishment" they probably meant in in sorta break an egg over his head. It is totally just a rumour. I doubt it's true because so many footballers want to be David Beckham, and he is totally pro-gay.
Yeah, they stories of the orgies and things could be true, and watch two women strip while they jerked off, but it's all just speculation.
I don't think the players are anti-gay as much as the chav morons who are the football fans. The reason a player wont come out is because he'd be booed and insulted off the pitch. Wasn't it the Barca fans that made money noise and threw racial slurs are a black player every time he kicked the ball? That was a big story in the UK, so imagine the carp they'd give a gay player.
Anyway the "faggot test" is probably nothing you wouldn't see in a gay for pay porn site like Sean Cody or the Fratpad. I'm sure it would even turn a couple of gay guys on.
|by Anonymous||reply 341||06/22/2010|
Thanks for the clip R309. Hate the music but love the story specially the bit when one of the closeted footballers parades a 'girlfriend' in front of the cameras.
That's exactly what Pique did right after his pic with Zlatan surfaced. He brought an unknown 'girlfriend' to Alejandro Sanz concert in Barcelona where there was lots of paps.

Homphobia is still widely accepted in sports, it's almost accepted to be part of it, even in Europe where we are quite liberal compared to the US. The teams are outspoken about being against it publicly, even if it's not often enough IMO, but can't always live up to that behind closed doors. And that's the messed up part, I think it's plausible that the test could have happened beacause I doubt a guy would go to the media with the info if he was the victim of homophobia from his team mates, it would just make his situation worse. Racisme is fought much more actively than homophobia, maybe beacuse admitting homophobia is a real problem, is also admitting there are gay players who are being subject to it. And as we all know, there couldn't possibly be any gays in football!

I also think "The Faggot Test" is bullshit because you know very well that one or two (or all) of the strippers involved would go to a magazine or some news source and report it. "The Faggot Test" is headline worthy internationally. There is money to made made off partaking in something like that, not too mention exposing the athletes involved. They would get million dollar fines up the ass and so would the organization.

|by Anonymous||reply 346||06/22/2010|
that's asuming the player fails the "faggot test", if he doesn't there's nothing suspect for the girls to tell. Just that they put on a show for the guys before they jumped in to bed.
Then there's the rumors that tabloids and news outlets protects players from gay rumors in exchange for other info and interviews.
|by Anonymous||reply 347||06/22/2010|
R347 I think we can call that fact rather than rumour. Seeing how the tabloid industry works it would be foolish to assume otherwise.
I can easily imagine a player threatning to deny access if a news outlet were to step out of line. If Alex Ferguson can refuse to speak to the BBC and get away with it I'm sure a player could manage the situation similarly.

Here's some rumors about how the players have deals with the "red top" tabloids:
Cristiano Ronaldo, gay? jamesdenial [Edit] [Delete] 94 replies 16:36 December 5th, 2008 Look, I'm not united hater, nor am I any kind of homophobic but I find the whole Ronaldo debacle very suspicious. Several relationships with high profile models who he has never been photographed with, several stories in the paper about his "athenian love making skills" and "orgies". With a lot of women who all share the same PR in Max Clifford. And he's exactly the bloke who openly discusses how often he has to "keep stories out of the paper as much as get them in there" in interviews. And then says things like "let's say a male celebrity wants to be seen as a ladies man, well, we'll make sure he's seen with ladies - whether he actually likes them or not." etc.
Then a friend of mine apparently saw him at Manchester Airport holding hands with a bloke called The Sun and told them and The Sun said they weren't interested. What is going on?

hollywood_freak @hollywood_freak | 5 Dec '08, 17:47 | X | ^ This | Reply I know it's true. A high-profile agent who represents a fair number of players in Britain has deals with The Sun & their sister paper. His clients are always in the transfer gossip bit, negative stories about them are witheld from print, brown envelopes are probably exchanged. Clubs, agents and player manipulate the press, or the public through the press, it's no secret. One of our players was involved in a bit of a scandal a while back, it hit the front pages but only after his agents had agreed a deal to leak the story themselves in return for a significant fee.
kissinginkansas @Pigfoot | 5 Dec '08, 17:40 | X | ^ This | Reply But how do you know the specifics? That two of your players have such deals? I wasn't questioning that they exist.
Pigfoot @kissinginkansas | 5 Dec '08, 17:43 | X | ^ This | Reply - A couple of people i know watch our academy & reserves religeously, and have done for years and years, so they're quite friendly with the parents of a couple of the current players, having seen them come up through the ranks from being kids, specifically one player, whose dad is his agent.
kissinginkansas @Pigfoot | 5 Dec '08, 17:54 | X | ^ This | Reply I sometimes wonder pretty much the same thing about simon cowell.
Then i worry that i'm stereotyping people who look or sound a bit gay as being gay. But only every now and again, because it's not really something that's worth spending a great deal of time over.
Although the idea of it being beneficial in pushing back homophobia a bit is pretty interesting.

I'm not sure if Max Clifford ever represented Ronaldo officially, I'm thinking it might have been a behind the scenes type of deal if he did. I couldn't find proof Ronaldo is a client of Clifford, but I found this on a forum:
"Max Clifford has said before that he's paid by a few premier league clubs to "manage the public view of the sexuality" of players. Its believed that United and Arsenal were the first two to employ his services.
Photos of Ronaldo with titty slappers are quite likely staged.
Best conspiracy theory is the Tweedy/Cole wedding though, a woman convicted of racially aggravated assault marries a black man half the media claim is gay. Everyone wins!"

|by Anonymous||reply 364||06/22/2010|
It doesn't seem like Ibrahimovic is going to be tranferred from Barcelona.
Pique has just said in a sport newspaper that Zlatan is a great striker and they shouldn't need to bring other players.
|by Anonymous||reply 365||06/22/2010|
Spanish media reports that Pique had to have 3 stitches on his upper lip after the Honduras match. He now has 5 stitches in total. Please...no more. Dont these players know that Piques lips are sacred?

Hopefully Zlatan will stay at Barca, even if that means he has to play a bit less. Crackovia wont be the same without him either, they have already lost Guti as a main character, and neither Fabregas or Villa would be as funny to parody as Zlaaaataaaan *pounds chest*.

I found this link on the World Cup thread. Lots of pics of Gerard looking gorgeous:

@r369 There's no comparation between that tranny look alike and the handsome Mr Pique.
|by Anonymous||reply 371||06/22/2010|
I dismissed this as wishful thinking because the picture looked like a handshake about to happen to me. But Zlatan's outburst makes me kind of wonder.
|by Anonymous||reply 372||06/22/2010|
Pique finally addresses the picture.
|by Anonymous||reply 373||06/22/2010|
In an interview, the interviewer asks him about Ibra and he answers 'who my boyfriend?' I am starting to think, he is just an affectionate straight guy, who is gay friendly.
|by Anonymous||reply 374||06/22/2010|
is it on YouTube? I'm glad he's so relaxed about it, gay bi or straight.
|by Anonymous||reply 375||06/22/2010|
His reply doesn't surprise me at all. Spaniards usually have relaxed attitudes towards gay people. This is not exactly proof that he's gay, but not that he's straight either. He just reacts in a normal, Spanish way. Zlatan reacts in a typical homophobic way with his eastern european background. You can't tell if they are gay or not out from their reaction/repsonse to the picture.
Yeah, they stories of the orgies and things could be true, and watch two women strip while they jerked off, but it's all just speculation.
No this is not just speculation. About three years ago there was a video on the net, which I saw, of about 5 or 6 Sunderland players and a girl. One guy was having sex with the girl as the other guys stood around in a semi-circle dicks ahoy masturbating furiously. It was taken with another player on a camera phone. Roy Keane who coached Sunderland at the time was livid and I believe got rid of some of the players (who were on the junior team, if I remember correctly)
Another famous case of spit roasting, as it's called came to light when a girl went to authorities after it happened (in London, I believe). It involved Cristiano Ronaldo, his uncle, a cousin and some othr hanger-on. They met the girl at a bar and someone in the entourage invited her to their hotel suite where they proceeded to pass her around. She claimed rape, but took over a day to go to the police and never went to the hospital in the interim. There was no evidence and since the case turned into he said she said, it was dropped.
Oh yes, and there's also the case of Rio Ferdinand, Frank Lampard, and a couple of others whom I can't remember who were on a Mediteranean island vacation. They actually took a video of the girl as she was passed around and one of them actually vaginally penetrated her with a Coke bottle or some such. The video was on the internet for a while. Lampard admitted to it in his autobiography.
All of these stories have appeared in the tabloids and scores of girls have sold their stories, so it's not speculation.

R378 Generally footballers are narcisstic whores, who in addition to being whores themselves, would screw any whore with the ability to open her legs. Of course there are exceptions to the norm such as Scholes and Kaka, who by all reports are loyal to their wives. On the topic of Zlatan and Pique, neither pings my gaydar but I have found that my gaydar is not always accurate. So who knows?
Wasn't it the Barca fans that made money noise and threw racial slurs are a black player every time he kicked the ball?
No. It was a Barca's player Samuel Eto'o from Cameroon who received the racial abuse when he played at Bernabeu in Madrid. He was so upeset that he was going to leave the pitch, but his teammates convinced him to keep playing.
Someone upthread already mentioned black England players receiving abuse during an international match. Other stadiums where I've racist taunts are Sanchez Pizjuan (Sevilla), Espanyol's stadium (other Barcelona club) and good old Bernabeu home to the Ultras Sur.
|by Anonymous||reply 380||06/22/2010|
R380 I remember watching that match it was a shameful and disgusting display and in addition to the monkey noises, members of the crowd were showing the nazi salute. I remember Eto wanting to leave the pitch but Ronaldinio in particular, stopped him and told him to keep playing. I never felt more ashamed in my life. Football fans are some of the biggest assholes on this planet, and it is no mystery why gay footballers, have to keep themselves in the closet. Imagine a macho sport like rubgy could have an openly gay player, with full acceptance from the fans, and a sport where guys kiss, hug and grop each other in full view of the world but people act shocked when it is done in private.

|by Anonymous||reply 387||06/23/2010|
I think that the reason this WC is not hugely popular is that their $9 million coach has not come up with a strategy to deal with Lampard and Gerrard problem. They're coming up so far and squeezing Rooney out of his space that he can't perform. It's questionable whether he could perform after being gimped on and off at the end of the season with the ankle problem. He just doesn't appear fit.
The one true stupid chav on this team is John Terry who tried to undermine his team and the captain by going public with his senior player approved plan to air their problems at a team meeting. Senior players did not materialize, Terry shamed yet again. He's too stupid to breathe.

England gelled a lot better tonight. Sure, we scraped through and it was hardly 'emphatic' but there was a lot more togetherness, passion and energy. Gerrard did us proud, so did Lamps, Wazza's shot at the post would have given us that second goal had it been slightly more to the right. Shame.
Well played tonight though. Hard fought, hard won.

|by Anonymous||reply 421||06/23/2010|
Fight fight fight!
|by Anonymous||reply 422||06/23/2010|
It would be so easy to start a new thread and move on but it seems they won't do it.
I'm starting to think that who said that they want to kill the discussion about Pique and Ibra, was right.
|by Anonymous||reply 423||06/23/2010|
Is this what is called a "flame war?"
|by Anonymous||reply 424||06/23/2010|
Now now ladies...
|by Anonymous||reply 425||06/23/2010|
Once again, this is the subject of this thread.
Barcelona footballers in love...or something.
|by Anonymous||reply 426||06/23/2010|
I'm with R423. Why not start a new thread? This discussion is about Ibrahimovic and Gerard Pique.
Even on ontd lj people can discuss about them without being bothered like it's happening here:
|by Anonymous||reply 427||06/23/2010|
Some random football gossip wont hurt this thread. Sure, this thread was initially about the Zlatan Pique stuff, but the rest of the gossip and info gives some context to what it might be like to be gay in pro football, how they hide ect. The Max Clifford bit was pretty good. I say keep up the work, as long as we keep the photos and info on pique and Zlatan rolling in as well (even if they are straight) :P Some mentions of world cup is fine to, as long as the main discussion of that is in the WC thread, which it seems to have been so far.
|by Anonymous||reply 428||06/23/2010|
Thanks for the link, r427.
That pic is gayer than gay.
|by Anonymous||reply 429||06/23/2010|
A video of pique's bad luck so far in this WC. He looks damn good even with blood pouring out of his mouth.
|by Anonymous||reply 430||06/23/2010|
I love the conspiracy theories.
You girls are nuts.
|by Anonymous||reply 431||06/23/2010|
Awwww......Thanks for that, r405.
I love how Pique defends his man.
|by Anonymous||reply 432||06/23/2010|
Nice GIF at r304, love it.
|by Anonymous||reply 433||06/23/2010|
Thanks for posting that R430. That was absolutely hilarious! Oh man, Iker looks 100% better clean shaven. He looks so much younger. Now I remember why.
Man Utd. gossip. Hmm, not much. He made his first appearance for the senior team at the age of 17. He had sattelite dish systems installed three times and stolen before he figured out that the installers were the thieves. I found this rant funny (from the Telegraph):
Gerard Pique, once of United now back in Barcelona, has dished the dirt in fine style, claiming Fergie's accent "sounded like Chinese" and that United's players are all burger-munching fatties.
Just days after Rio Ferdinand revealed how he drowned his sorrows with "a few pints and three packets of crisps" after the defeat against Arsenal, Pique said: "At United there were some incredible things happening. Everyone was allowed to eat what they wanted and one must remember that the English diet is just like people say.
"Every two weeks we had to be checked out on a machine that measured the amount of fat we had in our bodies. It would be a surprise that none of the players broke the machine because of the amount of hamburgers and beer they had."
"The gaffer, as Ferguson is known in Manchester, spoke in English with a Scottish accent and sounded Chinese to me. But I was not the worst and there are players still there who do not understand him yet.
Not much really...
|by Anonymous||reply 434||06/23/2010|
I enjoy football gossip, the point of this thread is two specific footballers but if someone can offer some hot gossip on the relationship of two other footballers, or who's gay or bi, in soccer, I aint mad at it. I understand gossip not exactly relevant to Ibra and Pique would be revealed, since we have nothing to go on beside the picture.
|by Anonymous||reply 435||06/23/2010|
Anyone knows that Pique is saying in R405 clip?
|by Anonymous||reply 436||06/23/2010|
Duh. Assholes don't want to spend $18 to start a new thread so they hijack this one instead.
|by Anonymous||reply 437||06/23/2010|
I'm deliberately withholding gossip about Ibrahimovic from my Milanese friends because of that idiot hall monitor thinking these are his glory days in high school.
From the Bundesliga, there have been whispers, in the past, about Klinsy since Italia '90 right up to Germany 2006. Apparently, he and Italy's Nicola Berti used to be very close in the 90s.
More recently, there's been rumours about Lucas Podolski and the mental ex Arsenal goalie, Lehman.
|by Anonymous||reply 438||06/23/2010|
R438 I don't get why you are withholding gossip about Ibra.
|by Anonymous||reply 439||06/23/2010|
Because of the thread Nazi who thinks this thread should only be about the two Barca guys without mention or gossip of other, possibly gay, footballers.
I'm not giving him the satisfaction.
|by Anonymous||reply 440||06/23/2010|
Their pic looks like it could be the cover of some Nicholas Sparks novel.
|by Anonymous||reply 441||06/23/2010|
In my opinion the sideway discussion about who's gay in soccer/football/fusball? in general is an interesting addition and keeps the thread alive beyond the "oh, he's so pretty, I'd totally do him!" fillers until someone posts a new pic or clip or has new info or gossip about Piqe and Ibrahimovic.
|by Anonymous||reply 442||06/23/2010|
I am loving the ONTD site linked here. The fangirls there are hilarious.
|by Anonymous||reply 443||06/23/2010|
I love ONTD, R443. It may be a fangirl site, but a lot of them are very serious soccer fans and knowledable. A lot of the posters pretty serious and more than the typical "Squee!" one might expect from such a group. They've had the best coverage of the French implosion of all the blogs IMO. And they are funny as hell.
|by Anonymous||reply 444||06/23/2010|
I agree r444. What kind of people post there? Is it a female site like DL is gay? Are the posters mainly American?
|by Anonymous||reply 445||06/23/2010|
No, R445, not primarily American. They're from all over the world (mainly European) which is one of the benefits. They will find foriegn sites or scan articles in magazines and translate them sometimes (one of the reasons the France coverage was so good). They're 95% female, I'd say, or if they're male they don't don't reveal it. I've come across a few male posters. And they are gay friendly.
Damn, I noticed a lot of typos in my post.
|by Anonymous||reply 446||06/23/2010|
thanks for digging up some Pique ManU info, I wish I understood Catalan so I could read the book, I think there might be some gems in there. Especially about his time at ManU.
At please keep the gossip coming, I want to know the Milanese "dirt" on Zlatan too! Very much apreciated.
|by Anonymous||reply 447||06/23/2010|
I have loved the non Pique/Zlatan gossip and stories too, keeps the thread interesting, if you contributed to that I'm happy you did, and please don't stop now or hold back any info.
This is one of my favorite threads as I'm a European football fan myself, don't let the quality of the thread be ruined by one poster, there's plenty of us here who are on your side, don't let us down now!

Off topic question for the Spaniards here:
Would Pique consider himself Spanish or Catalan or both? When he plays for Spain, is it as big an honour as playing for Barcelona? And what language would he speak at home, with friends and teammates? Catalan or Spanish? Or is Catalan like a second language which they speak in addition to Spanish?
I know foreign players from Gary Linecker, to Samuel Eto'o and even Zlatan Ibrahimovic learn Spanish when they move to Barcelona, why not Catalan?
Is the separatist movement in Catalonia as strong/serious as the Basque or say even Northern Ireland Catholics?
|by Anonymous||reply 451||06/24/2010|
I think it's similar to the way Scicilians, Corsicans or Scots, value their identity as much as their Italian, French or British nationality. Separatists are a fringe minority as in all these groups.
|by Anonymous||reply 452||06/24/2010|
Did Freddie Ljungberg turn out to be gay, I last read he plays for a small USA team, he seems to live under the radar now. Very hot guy.
|by Anonymous||reply 453||06/24/2010|
Pique recently said: "I don't know why Spain and Catalonia have to be separated, definitely we are better and stronger together"
I remember reading interviews with him where he states he has no problems at all representing both Spain and Catalonia and that he's very proud of playing for the Spanish national team. I believe he speaks both Catalan and Spanish. Very diplomatic this Pique. Guardiola on the other hand would is a bit more old school on the subject, I think he'd prefer a Catalan national team seperate from Spains.
|by Anonymous||reply 454||06/24/2010|
Pep has also said it was a honor to play for the Spanish NT. All of the Catalan players (and residents of Catalunya) speak both Spanish and Catalan. All public instruction and government business take place in Catalan, but Spanish language instruction is also mandated. After all, Catalans would be crippled if they spoke only Catalan on the Iberian penninsula. You will find that there are some older Catalans who speak only Spanish because the teaching and use of Catalan was forbidden under Franco's regime and punishable by imprisonment. The same was the case in the Basque provinces.
The reason why foriegn players only learn Spanish is that it's a one size fits all language whereas they could not use Catalan outside of the two regions. Spanish is spoken everywhere in Barcelona.
I know that Xavi shares similar views to Pique, but Puyol has solely a Catalan identity. I believe Valdes is the same. Not sure about the others. Joan La Porta is extremely nationalistic and advocates the separation of Catalunya any chance he gets. He's deeply involved in the cause from what I understand.
Catalan nationalists are not as extreme as Basque nationalists, but they have had very small inconsequential groups of "terrorists" but this all pales in comparison to ETA in the Basque provinces.
|by Anonymous||reply 455||06/24/2010|
Joan La Porta is extremely nationalistic and advocates the separation of Catalunya any chance he gets. He's deeply involved in the cause from what I understand.
Wouldn't that be shooting himself in foot? Heaven knows Barca and the Nou Camp are the most visible and iconic symbols of Catalan identity, at least to us non Spaniards. What would happen to Barca if they were yanked from La Liga to play a purely Catalan league?
I read a profile in a magazine last week where La Porta said Barca was his life and that he felt "no emotion" for the Spanish national team. Is his a majority view? How did Catalunya react to Spain winning the Euro Cup in '08? And do they support, say, Rafa Nadal against the likes of Federer?
|by Anonymous||reply 456||06/24/2010|
You are the one who are retarded. I can't believe nobody "oh deared" this.
|by Anonymous||reply 457||06/24/2010|
Unlike Laporta I think that Pique feels Catalan and Spanish. He has just said that it's a honor playing in Spanish team.
And he clearly is showing it on the pitch.
Here's a clip from spanish TV today.
|by Anonymous||reply 458||06/24/2010|
Nice clip. Can anyone fluent in Spanish tell us whether he was speaking standard Spanish, Catalan, or Catalan-accented Spanish?
|by Anonymous||reply 459||06/24/2010|
They ruined it with all that Mel Gibson stuff, r458. Gibson would probably cry and faint if he got kicked in the balls and mouth.
|by Anonymous||reply 460||06/24/2010|
I am DYING to hear the Zlatan gossip. So far we got some gossip/info on Pique, but nothing on Ibrahimovic, or Italian football. Come back pretty please.
|by Anonymous||reply 461||06/24/2010|
R450 Geez, he seems to have gotten worse than anyone else for the World Cup.
|by Anonymous||reply 462||06/24/2010|
No one would pass up the chance to dish about a persuably straight football star, I'm guessing R440 doesn't know shit.
|by Anonymous||reply 463||06/24/2010|
Pique was definetly on the cooler side of the whole controversy and his response that they were discussing a book, was more laughable than the Guti was french kissing his sister excuse.
|by Anonymous||reply 464||06/24/2010|
They were discussing a book?
What book, The Gay Kamasutra??
|by Anonymous||reply 465||06/24/2010|
R458 Pique certainly is a tough guy, by the end of the match he looked like a boxer. I am considering shifting my support from Argentina and Brazil, based on what this guy is going through.
|by Anonymous||reply 466||06/24/2010|
R459, he is speaking Castilian because he is on a Castilian-speaking station. Educated Catalans are scrupulous about that sort of thing. Naturally he speaks it with a Catalan accent, but correctly.
You, however, are much less than correct in contrasting something you call "standard Spanish" with Catalan. There are several languages that are Spanish languages. In choosing to call one of them "standard," you are falling for the Franco line. He is dead. There are Basque, Castilian, Galician, Catalan, and Valencian. They are ALL "standard."
More people speak Catalan than speak Norwegian or Finnish. Do you consider them non-standard?
|by Anonymous||reply 467||06/24/2010|
"I know that Xavi shares similar views to Pique, but Puyol has solely a Catalan identity."
Then why does he use the Castilian form of his name instead of the very common Catalan name, Pujol? He calls himself Carles instead of the Castilian Carlos. Hmm. A mystery.
As for "why would they want to be separate in sports?" I talked to a Catalan today (here in New York) who was saying how humiliating it was that Catalonia could win without the other Spanish players, and when they do win, it's a win for Spain, which many of them detest, instead of for their own country, Catalonia. Scotland and Wales, he said, have their own teams. Why not an even more ancient county, Catalonia?
|by Anonymous||reply 468||06/24/2010|
county = country
|by Anonymous||reply 469||06/24/2010|
r468, I kinda agree with your friend. It seems incredibly unfair that the UK is allowed to split its "national" teams between England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, but other countries are not.
|by Anonymous||reply 470||06/24/2010|
@ r468 and r470:
England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland have "national teams" because each of those "countries" have Football Federations. For FIFA to recognise a federation, they have to run their own league (like England's Premier League, Germany's Bundesliga, Italy's Serie A, France's Ligue 1 or Major League Soccer in the US) in their own country.
For Catalonia to be allowed to field its own team, they would have to pull teams like Barcelona and Espanyol out of 'La Liga', the Spanish League (one of the wealthiest and most lucrative leagues in the world) and form their own league.
They would they miss out on revenue from La Liga; standards would crash because of lack of the quality opposition many of the other Spanish teams offer; and, most importantly, many would argue the sole driving force for Barcelona FC's existence, prosperity and fanatical fanbase is the rivalry with Real Madrid (one of the few clubs with a fanbase to rival their own). Take that away and Barca won't be that much different than a village team.
|by Anonymous||reply 471||06/25/2010|
[quote} you are falling for the Franco line. He is dead. There are Basque, Castilian, Galician, Catalan, and Valencian. They are ALL "standard."
R467, you're being more than a bit harsh on R459. "falling for the Franco line. He is dead." He's clearly from outside of Spain; maybe he's not aware of the Franco line or knows what it means. I wouldn't politicize his question. He may have been referring to "standard Spanish" in the way that here in the U.S. Spanish speaking media use "broadcast Spanish" to reach the different Latino communities who use different idioms and have different accents.
Anyway it's kind of amusing that you refer to all of the above languages as "Spanish" in your post. I'm sure the Basques and Catalans would not appreciate that categorization!
|by Anonymous||reply 472||06/25/2010|
Actually, there's a movement now to consolidate England, Wales, Scotland, and N. Ireland into a "British" team like its Olympic teams, but FIFA isn't having any of it. The difference between Cataluyna and the composite countries of the UK is that Cataluyna isn't a country. It's an autonomous community of El Reino de Espana.
Regarding the question upthread about La Porta shooting himself in the foot with his separatist ideals. I'm sure that those ideals don't involve setting up a separate Catalan league (or at least I hope not!) The only two La Liga teams in Cataluyna are Barca and Espanyol (which actually is more supported by non-Catalans and non-Basques). It wouldn't be at all viable to set up a separate league.
As far as how Catalans viewed the Spanish team and its victory at Euro2008, they were for the most part quite happy and pleased. The government declined to set up public viewing screens, however, to much disappointment.
Funny story about La Porta. During the first match against Racing Santander in Santander last season, he apparently got very strident about his nationalistic views and got disinvited from the director's box at El Sardinero. Seems like he went a bit far mixing sport and politics.
|by Anonymous||reply 473||06/25/2010|
r472 is right. Castilian, Galician, Asturian and Valencian are all Spanish dialects. Basque and Catalan are separate languages. Basque isn't even latin-based like Catalan, Spanish, French and Italian.
From what I understand, it is quite normal for a child to grow up in Barcelona today speaking both Catalan and Spanish or just Spanish, but impossible/impractical to speak Catalan alone.
|by Anonymous||reply 474||06/25/2010|
Are the crackovia episodes done in Catalan or Spanish?
|by Anonymous||reply 475||06/25/2010|
The Catalan players/characters speak in Catalan and the Spanish and foriegn players in Castilian. It's even mixed in sketches. Cryuff speaks in Spanish.
|by Anonymous||reply 476||06/25/2010|
ah, thanks for clearing that up.
Oh, and here's a lovely photo of Pique and his mom:
|by Anonymous||reply 477||06/25/2010|
And here Pique is with his mother, Laporta, his father and little brother Marc.
|by Anonymous||reply 478||06/25/2010|
Last year Pique admitted that his current girlfriend was his first. How can a guy that gorgeous not have had women in drones? Maybe his mummy raised him better than that.
|by Anonymous||reply 479||06/25/2010|
I thought that Pique's first girlfriend was Miss Wales while he was at Man Utd. There are paparazzi pics of them looking cozy as the walk around shopping in Manchester.
|by Anonymous||reply 480||06/25/2010|
I think he said his current gf is his first serious relationship.
|by Anonymous||reply 481||06/25/2010|
the girl he was seen walking with and kissing was not actually Lisa Lazarus, she is the same girl as he is with now called Nuria. This forums clears it up.
|by Anonymous||reply 482||06/25/2010|
Ricky and Rebecca de Alba. Just saying.
|by Anonymous||reply 483||06/25/2010|
R467 Sorry to derail the thread, but aren't Valencian and Catalan two names for the same language?
To be on topic, here is a link to an article about Pique's girlfriend.
|by Anonymous||reply 484||06/25/2010|
Valencian doesn't exist; it's Catalan. For political reasons they call it Valencian in Valencia.
|by Anonymous||reply 485||06/25/2010|
Nice to have an actual Catalan here, r485. Can you answer/verify some of the questions about your language, culture and Pique, Puyol and Laporta upthread? Do you want Spain to win the world cup more or less than seeing Barca clinch La Liga or the Champions league?
And finally, why are the folks at the Nou Camp (Pique included) such sore losers to the point of turning on the water sprinklers (literally pouring cold water celebrations) after my beloved Inter Milan and Jose Mourinho spectacularly knocked them out of the Champions league?
|by Anonymous||reply 486||06/25/2010|
The very definition of a tendentious question:
"And finally, why are the folks at the Nou Camp (Pique included) such sore losers ...?"
|by Anonymous||reply 487||06/25/2010|
I called it Valencian, R484, only because that's what Valencians call it.
Just a matter of courtesy. And the EC calls them different languages -- though, of course, they aren't.
|by Anonymous||reply 488||06/25/2010|
There are paparazzi pics of them looking cozy as the walk around shopping in Manchester.
And this wasn't a big enough clue for you?
|by Anonymous||reply 489||06/25/2010|
"He's clearly from outside of Spain; maybe he's not aware of the Franco line or knows what it means."
Which is exactly the consequence of falling for the Franco line. Americans think Spain is about flamenco and bull-fighting, whereas that's only one culture that, along with the Castilian language, fascism promoted as Spanish.
For us to continue to fall for that is (1) inaccurate and (2) unfair to the other ancient and vital nationalities for whom flamenco and bull-fighting are as foreign as they are to the Dutch.
|by Anonymous||reply 490||06/25/2010|
R490 You're being entirely too condescending to someone who asked a prefectly innocent question irrespective of politics. And illogical. I fail to see how being unaware of something or not having knowledge of it is a consequence of falling it???
And before you presume anything about me, I'm a first generation child of Spanish born parents. My father lost his brother and best friend who fought in Republican forces to the Facists. I full well know what these politics were all about and about the cultural and political divides in Spain. It's simply unfair to call someone on an innocent question and impute all sorts of meaning and make generalizations about he person who is asking.
|by Anonymous||reply 491||06/25/2010|
@r392:"Classic. Textbook.damage.control. This is publicist speak for "I've sat in our changing room with our head in our hands for three hours trashing out with our agents what the HELL we were gonna do to rectify the situation."
That's exactly what Spanish TV channel Antena 3, implied after Pique's interview in La Vanguardia.
They said that Pique had followed step by step the strategy of denial: sense of humour; being open minded (he said that there were gay footballers but he couldn't come out because of the homophobia); he 'accidentally' mentioned his girlfriend (Pique said that she complained that he spent too much time into his own world) and finally, he denied the obvious saying that they were talking about a book.
On Antena 3 they said they weren't buying Pique's explanation. Maybe they have some inside info about what's really going on...
|by Anonymous||reply 492||06/25/2010|
This thead is getting a little bit derailed, we get it he has a mixed background, comes from a diverse ancestry. Back to the point of this thread. A swedish paper reported that Ibra and Pique were sizing up each other for a fight when the pic was taken. Allegedly, Pique had just launched his book, and while all the other footballers cheered Ibra was photograhed giving someone (allegedly Pique) the finger. So as it goes Pique was pissed, jammed Ibra againt the car and threatened him. I really hope to be threatened that way by a hot guy.
|by Anonymous||reply 493||06/25/2010|
Threatening him??? LMAO, Look at the pic! I know that's the version that Pique's fangirls want to believe because that pic is 'too gay' to handle.
|by Anonymous||reply 494||06/25/2010|
Also, that swedish newspaper claimed that the pic was taking by one of their reporters when the truth is that the Pique/Ibra famous pic was taken by a Barcelona supporter.
|by Anonymous||reply 495||06/25/2010|
They have to report these stories in order to salvage the hetero image of their national gem Ibra.
|by Anonymous||reply 496||06/25/2010|
It's kind of funny how the world of football is so similiar to that of Hollywood. In order to keep their star players' image in tact, marry them off to some dumb, superficial WAG and even go so far to create stories of them knocking up some women on the side, to cover all bases. I am sure their are more gay players in football, than we could imagine.
|by Anonymous||reply 497||06/25/2010|
@r496 has just hit the nail in the head.
|by Anonymous||reply 498||06/25/2010|
R493, are you blind? It doesn't match AT ALL with what is going on in that pic. It's typical PR damage control IMO. The more I hear about this whole thing, the more it's obvious they are hiding something. And why need to hide anything at all? It's obvious it was a romantic issue. It's the only taboo left in the football world, gay footballers..
|by Anonymous||reply 499||06/25/2010|
R499 I'm just reporting what the paps are saying, of course I can see that story and that photo does not fit but I think it was worth mentioning here. The more their PR keeps releasing these ridiculous stories, the more 'guilty' they seem.
|by Anonymous||reply 500||06/25/2010|
I sure as hell wish to be threatened like that, too R493.
"A swedish paper reported that Ibra and Pique were sizing up each other for a fight when the pic was taken."
Umm, yeah, of course.
|by Anonymous||reply 501||06/25/2010|
Sorry, R500. I may have come across a bit harsh. Thanks for posting that article. I agree with you, the more damage control the PR people do, the more 'guilty' they seem.
|by Anonymous||reply 502||06/25/2010|
Sometimes it is best to just stay quiet. Chelsea doesn't even attempt to explain the obsessive type relationship between John Terry and Frank Lampard.
|by Anonymous||reply 503||06/25/2010|
(he said that there were gay footballers but he couldn't come out because of homophobia)
Was it the Spanish commentator that said this, or was it Pique who said this as a joke?
|by Anonymous||reply 504||06/25/2010|
HA, r492. I just LOVE the Spanish media. They will not be manipulated by PR hacks like the US, UK and, as it turns out, Swedish media which are at the forefront of inning their golden geese.
|by Anonymous||reply 505||06/25/2010|
For me , the digression about the several distinct languages spoken on the Iberian peninsula has been fascinating. My own experience is limited to the French and German languages, which are the standard and official language for their nations, all other speech forms remaining merely dialects.
|by Anonymous||reply 506||06/25/2010|
R506, you are so very wrong. In France there are many languages, most of which both the Bourbons and the Republic have done their best (with great success) to kill. They are in NO SENSE "mere dialects." One of them is, in fact Catalan. Why would that be a language in Southern Catalonia but a dialect in Northern Catalonia? Provençal and Occitan, for example, are no more dialects than Parisian French is. They just happen to be spoken by less powerful people.
As they say, "A language is a dialect with an army."
|by Anonymous||reply 507||06/25/2010|
Anyone who thinks Catalans are just being silly when distinguishing themselves from the rest of the Spanish state will probably be convinced otherwise simply by comparing this dance -- seen everywhere in Catalonia -- with flamenco!
|by Anonymous||reply 508||06/25/2010|
Not condescending at all R491. I'm an American, thus belonging to a society that is ignorant of Spain, that supported Franco in his despotism, etc. I am heavily engaged in some large-scale projects to remedy some of this and in no way was holding the poster personally responsible in any way.
|by Anonymous||reply 509||06/25/2010|
My question was of course for r492.
|by Anonymous||reply 510||06/25/2010|
"That photo is gayer than at least 90% of the gay things I've ever done."
I don't know why, but this quote from a poster early in the thread is the best I've come across in a long time. This is wit within wit covered by inuendo. Thanks.
|by Anonymous||reply 511||06/25/2010|
I agree R506. I find Basque particularly interesting because it's unrelated to any of the other languages spoken on the peninsula.
Pruvian Striker Roberto Silva's quote on gays in football is absolutely hilarious: "I have suspicions that there are some gays in football. Sometimes you can't help but wonder about it. I am not a gay, but if I was, or if I was a woman, which is similar, I would do David Beckham. But that's just my individual opinion."

Pique made it through the Chile-Spain match without blood pouring out of his face, let's hope this means the bad luck is over.
|by Anonymous||reply 513||06/25/2010|
I think two footballers screwing would be bothersome to some people but would be more easily shrugged off, but the fact that these guys actually look like they are in love is scary to alot of people.
am DYING to hear the Zlatan gossip. So far we got some gossip/info on Pique, but nothing on Ibrahimovic, or Italian football. Come back pretty please
Sorry, totally forgot. Hope I didn't set your expectations too high, but here goes:
There's a ditzy Italian blonde with one of those tacky shows on RAI who happens to be a casual friend of a friend in Milan. According to my friend, she's slept with several celebrities including a few players from both corners of the San Siro. When, Ibra was at Inter, this chick (who at the time was dating a player from the other team) pursued him for months but he kept turning her down (she has quite a rep)to the point of avoiding her. Finally, he succumbed and they had a one nighter after which Ibra didn't want to see her anymore. Apparently, she later blabbed to pals about Ibra being a lousy lay, that she had to put extra effort for him to get it up, that he couldn't stay hard, and that he basically lasted all of a few seconds. Word got round to her boyfriend who, in his fury, sought Ibra and tried to kick his ass in a hotel lobby. He then dumped her infront of her colleagues and nowadays, she's dating some media suit but she's still slutty as ever. This same chick claims to have slept with Ronaldinho who she said gave her multiple orgasms.
I can't verify this story, so take it for what its worth, but my friend's friend really is does hang out with the TV girl.
|by Anonymous||reply 515||06/26/2010|
Good to know you can stay on topic, R440.
|by Anonymous||reply 516||06/26/2010|
thank you for not forgetting. Maybe Ibra's pref really isn't women after all? This chick that can get all the footballers to bed, and he can hardly get it up for her, things that make you go hmmmmmm..
|by Anonymous||reply 517||06/26/2010|
r507, do people in Brittany and Corsica still casually speak Breton and Corsican?
|by Anonymous||reply 518||06/26/2010|
R515 Maybe his preference isn't sluts.
|by Anonymous||reply 519||06/26/2010|
I find that highly unlikely.
But I love Zlatans wife, she reminds me of Holly, if Holly was uglier and older lookin. Damn, someone get me my potency pills, chop chop.
|by Anonymous||reply 520||06/26/2010|
I'm as gay as they come and I couldn't get it up for Zlatan either
|by Anonymous||reply 521||06/26/2010|
My favorite Pique interview. He describes his teammates in both Barca and ManU, including himself:
Gerard Pique What can I say? Scandalously good-looking (see my picture, below right). Talented on and off the pitch. There’s nothing better than me, but maybe I could do with a little more confidence!
|by Anonymous||reply 522||06/26/2010|
R522 Thanks for posting that that, I like him even more, if that is at all possible.
|by Anonymous||reply 523||06/26/2010|
Uh uh. Looks like US soccer poster boy, Landon Donovan, got some UK chav pregnant and she's done what comes naturally to chavs ... go to the tabs with her story for money.
|by Anonymous||reply 524||06/27/2010|
My favorite photo of Pique.
|by Anonymous||reply 525||06/27/2010|
The only Barca gossip I have is about former player Marc Overmars. My friend told me that Overmars is gay and had an affair with Argetinian player Gabriel Batistuta.
|by Anonymous||reply 526||06/27/2010|
Btw, what's up with Messi? Straight, gay, bi?
|by Anonymous||reply 527||06/27/2010|
Never heard any rumors about Messi. He is still with his first serious gf who is a "girl next door" type from Argentina, and there's always talk of them getting engaged or married.
|by Anonymous||reply 528||06/27/2010|
R524 Why don't these guys ever wear condoms?
|by Anonymous||reply 529||06/27/2010|
What's the latest buzz? Is Ibra going to transferred now that David Villa has joined Barca?
|by Anonymous||reply 530||06/27/2010|
R320 I can't believe how much times those fangirls have on their time. There are 40 chapters fan-fiction about Terry and Lampard, and it was actually well written. I expect Ibra/Pique slash anyday now.
|by Anonymous||reply 531||06/27/2010|
Link, please R531?
|by Anonymous||reply 532||06/27/2010|

barca now wants Zlatan to stay:
Friday, 25th June 2010
Barcelona striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been repeatedly linked with a move away from the Camp Nou over the last month. However, the signs from the Catalan capital now suggest coach Josep Guardiola would be perfectly happy for the Swede to form part of his squad next season.
According to Barcelona based daily Sport, the Camp Nou side were only willing to entertain the thought of Ibrahimovicâs departure for a fee of at least â¬50M. The main interested parties emerged as AC Milan and Manchester City, but with Milan unable to meet the â¬50M asking price and Manchester City unwilling and concerned about noises suggesting the Swede would veto a move to the North West of England in any case, neither of these deals got off the ground.
The feeling at Barcelona is now that Ibrahimovic should be continued with, especially as his opening season was not in any way as bad as has been widely suggested by the media. Offering Guardiolaâs men another valuable option up front, it is looking more and more likely that the Swedish striker will begin next season with the Spanish champions.

OMG r526. I heard about Batistuta way back in the early '90s. This was before the internet had caught on and I remember not believing him. This is the same person who'd told me about the Klinsi and Nicola Berti affair and also about Gabriela Sabatini, one of the DeBoer twins (I can't remember which), that Maradona had the hots for Claudio Cannigia (which Claudio's wife to order him to stay away from Diego, pouring cold water on their friendship) and, more recently, Lucas Podolski having a thing with another player in the Bundesliga (I forget who.
This was a straight guy and I remember thinking he was full of it.
|by Anonymous||reply 535||06/27/2010|
r534, is confirmation enough Zlatan's on his way out. That's how clubs and agents generate interest in a player and keep their price hight. Samuel Eto'o was just to be an act for poor Zlatan to follow.
Hopefully Pique won't go into depression.
|by Anonymous||reply 536||06/27/2010|
I'm sure that Pique is very happy to hear that Ibra is staying. He was rooting for Zlatan in an interview last week.
After the gossip about Ibrah and that slut, I can see Zlatan as a closet case. Straight men don't check out other men like this:
|by Anonymous||reply 537||06/27/2010|
Claudio Cannigia plants a kiss on Maradonas lips.
|by Anonymous||reply 538||06/27/2010|
Spare my typos. I excitement from England getting absolutely masacred in the World Cup.
|by Anonymous||reply 539||06/27/2010|
"Hopefully Pique won't go into depression."
I think the only thing hotter than a happy Pique would be a depressed one.
|by Anonymous||reply 540||06/27/2010|
That is an enticing thought, R540, to imagine the studly, famous, much-adored Pique pining away for a lost love like none other.
|by Anonymous||reply 541||06/27/2010|
More gay footballers gossip!
|by Anonymous||reply 542||06/27/2010|
Love this Pique/Ibra pic:
|by Anonymous||reply 543||06/27/2010|
An this one too:
|by Anonymous||reply 544||06/27/2010|
They certainly are looking deeply into each other's eyes, R543. Your photo is almost as gay-seeming as the parking lot photo.
|by Anonymous||reply 545||06/27/2010|
In both photos, Pique grins, while Ibra is without an expression. I guess that means that Pique is the bottom in the relationship.
|by Anonymous||reply 546||06/27/2010|
R546 Good eye.
|by Anonymous||reply 547||06/27/2010|

Could someone make a new World Cup thread, the last one is full.
|by Anonymous||reply 551||06/27/2010|
This has turned out to be a very good thread. Perfect balance of information, education, gossip and fantasy.
|by Anonymous||reply 552||06/27/2010|
I knew England would have been defeated but I was execting 2 goals against them for the most. I didn't see the end of it, did John 'Teary' begin sobbing and his shadow Lampard run to comfort him?
|by Anonymous||reply 553||06/27/2010|
Did the person who took out this pic ever come forward and explain what the hell he or she was doing there? (although I'm hell of alot happy they did).
|by Anonymous||reply 554||06/27/2010|
Something tells me Pique is capable of sucking the chrome out of a '58 Cadillac
|by Anonymous||reply 555||06/27/2010|
I wonder about that too. Didn't it start as a thing on Facebook, and then the media picked it up weeks later? The facebook group dedicated to the photo is shut down now, due to the extreme homophobia it generated, maybe the fan gave some explenation to how the photo came about there.
|by Anonymous||reply 556||06/27/2010|
Ooops, my reply is of course intended for r554, not r544. Sorry about that.
|by Anonymous||reply 557||06/27/2010|
Wonder if they had a chance to hook up again post-scandal.
|by Anonymous||reply 558||06/27/2010|
A somber looking Pique, top lip stitched up.
|by Anonymous||reply 559||06/27/2010|
Another one, still somber.
|by Anonymous||reply 560||06/27/2010|
Pique looks sooo gay in this pic.%0D %0D It's like the picture from a gay magazine:
|by Anonymous||reply 561||06/27/2010|
One thing that always bothered me since htis picture came out. Why would two footballers with so much at stake, ge so intimate with each other in a Parking lot? When they must have known someone would have been around. Is it so hard for them to keep their hands off each other?
|by Anonymous||reply 562||06/27/2010|
I've just been on a Gerard Pique Spanish board and I'm loling at his fangirls triying to convince themselves that this man is straight (and a womanizer) and that his 'girlfriend' is so 'cute and normal looking'....
|by Anonymous||reply 563||06/27/2010|
@R562%0D
"Why two footballers with too much at skate get so intimate with each other in a Parking Lot? Is it so hard for them to keep their hands off each other?"%0D %0D I think that R562 needs to watch over and over again this scene from Brokeback Mountain.%0D %0D Sometimes these things happen and you can't keep your hands to yourself although you have too much at skate:
|by Anonymous||reply 564||06/27/2010|
Aaaaaaaw, now Ibra and Pique have reached Brokeback Mountain status. How cute and romantic and... did I say cute? %0D %0D Quick, let's give them a quirky name - like Pibra or something.
|by Anonymous||reply 565||06/27/2010|
R565 The fangirls have arrived, God bless 'em.
|by Anonymous||reply 566||06/27/2010|
Ah Pique why would you dump innocent and pure Bojan and fall for one of the most arrogant assholes in football?
|by Anonymous||reply 567||06/27/2010|
R555 And something tells me that an arrogant closet case like Ibra can throw down a mean... you know. I would give me rigt arm to see these two go at it.
|by Anonymous||reply 568||06/27/2010|
What "scandal," R558?
|by Anonymous||reply 569||06/27/2010|
Great pics in a video of the godlike Pique%C3%82%C2%B4:
|by Anonymous||reply 570||06/27/2010|
Didn't somebody upthread say that the pic was by some fan who just happened to be passing Pique's house, or something like that? %0D %0D By the way, can I just say that while I normally don't notice guys with blue eyes, Pique's eyes are dazzlingly beautiful.
|by Anonymous||reply 571||06/27/2010|
If this was taken outside Pique's house then it is no question what was going on there.
|by Anonymous||reply 572||06/27/2010|
Have anyone asked either of these guys point blank if they are/were dating?
|by Anonymous||reply 573||06/27/2010|
Here's how the picture originated, got this from another site: %0D The objective of a nosy fan has immortalized the Swede Ibrahimovic and Spanish Piqu%C3%83%C2%A9 lot, maybe too close. Resting against a machine, such as lovers or sweethearts, after a workout at the Centro Deportivo Barca the two players exchanged gestures really love. The Barca fans, proud of the shot, could not contain himself and has published the image on the web. The network now spreads photography and on Facebook, the social network for excellence, has just been created a group entitled: "Even I was / a stunned at seeing the photo of Ibra and Piqu%C3%83%C2%A9," in which one wonders if there is something that goes beyond a simple friendship between the two lanky.
|by Anonymous||reply 574||06/27/2010|
It was directly translated so the english isn't too good.
|by Anonymous||reply 575||06/27/2010|
My love for Pep is never-ending.

Pique in Real Zaragoza's dressing room about 2 years ago, nice t-shirt, lol.
|by Anonymous||reply 577||06/28/2010|
This thread will be closed when it reaches 600 posts.%0D %0D Is anyone registered to start a new one? If not, we could move on to the 'Who's looking forward to the World Cup?' thread that has only a few replies and also make reference to Pique and Ibra.%0D %0D Here's the link to that thread:
|by Anonymous||reply 578||06/28/2010|
"Is anyone registered to start a new one?"%0D %0D Yes, no need to worry.
|by Anonymous||reply 579||06/28/2010|
I'll be happy to start a new Pique/Ibra thread when we get into the 590s.
|by Anonymous||reply 580||06/28/2010|
In some forum (I don't remember the name anymore) somebody claimed to know that the pic was taken after Ibra has found out that he won't be a part of the team next season. Then why not say so? Why make up stories that they were discussing about a book (Pique's biography, apparently?). And even if that were the case, that closeness strongly hints that they're more than just friends.
|by Anonymous||reply 581||06/28/2010|
So, it wasn't taken outside of Pique's house, but rather outside of the team's workout center.
|by Anonymous||reply 582||06/28/2010|
@R581%0D %0D That pic was taken in March or April; at that time, Barcelona was still playing Spanish league and there was no way to know if Ibra was going (or not) be part of the team next season.%0D %0D Two months later, nobody knows for sure yet if Ibrahimovic is staying; one day, newspapers say that Guardiola wants him to stay. The next day, they say that Ibra will be transferred to Milan...%0D %0D Anyway, just like in the case of the Swedish newspaper that claimed that picture was taken by one of their reporters when Pique and Ibra were having a fight, is just more BS to cover up what's really going on.
|by Anonymous||reply 583||06/28/2010|
Thanks for the clarification, R583.
|by Anonymous||reply 584||06/28/2010|
Huge match tomorrow: Spain - Portugal. Can hardly wait, and I'll be so depressed if Spain and Pique lose.
Hot players on both teams too :)
|by Anonymous||reply 585||06/28/2010|
I hope Spain wins.%0D %0D Pique is, right now, the best central defender in the world and he has been Cristiano Ronaldo's nightmare during Spanish league:

Here is the Gerard Pique Mens Health scans, too hot for words.

Is he married with a child, or is he just holding some random child? If he is a father, that fact casts a deep shadow over the speculation of whether he sucks cock.
|by Anonymous||reply 588||06/28/2010|
nope, not his kid. He was doing charity work with kids. Several photos from the event, that was just one of them.
|by Anonymous||reply 589||06/28/2010|
Thanks for that information, R589. In that case, there is every reason to check his lips for traces of semen.
|by Anonymous||reply 590||06/28/2010|
Hope Pique's face is spared in the next match. And I hope he schools the grease queen Ronaldo.
|by Anonymous||reply 591||06/28/2010|
Looks like Barca is cleaning house. All signs point to poor Zlatan being dumped.%0D %0D
|by Anonymous||reply 592||06/28/2010|
Ibra's tenure in Barca was underwhelming to alot of people, especially given the price tag attached to him, so his transfer isn't much of a surprise. He did have a impressive turn in the club and scored some impressive goals, but once discussion of a transfer reaches the press, its pretty much a done deal. I am also sure that in light of the controversy generated by the photo, Braca must be revealed to be seperating Pique and Ibra.
|by Anonymous||reply 593||06/28/2010|
|by Anonymous||reply 594||06/28/2010|
But how will Pique and Ibra feel about it? Who will shed the tears?
