Does she still exist?
|by Anonymous||reply 52||03/06/2015|
She bored herself and everyone else out of existence with her boring super-soft monotonous voice.
Actually, I've seen her lately on a couple of tv shows.
|by Anonymous||reply 1||05/01/2010|
She's Tylenol PM's biggest competition.
|by Anonymous||reply 2||05/01/2010|
I agree with you, r1.
|by Anonymous||reply 3||05/02/2010|
I like her.
|by Anonymous||reply 4||05/02/2010|
I think she's tremendous.
|by Anonymous||reply 5||05/02/2010|
Love Norah. Can't believe how much work she's done compared to most who hit the way she did. Lots of tracks floating around in multiple genres and wide variety of collaborators.
|by Anonymous||reply 6||05/02/2010|
Ditto r6. just love Norah and she stretches herself to all types of music. Her musky voice will always be in style.
|by Anonymous||reply 7||05/02/2010|
unfortuately yes, OP. And bitch basically stole my niche with a watered down, mall-friendly, pseudo urban take on my style!
|by Anonymous||reply 8||05/02/2010|
Her first record was great!
|by Anonymous||reply 9||05/02/2010|
r8, I love both Fiona and Norah. I don't see any real similarity between the two besides the fact that they are both super talented singers/musicians/song writers who happen to be female.
|by Anonymous||reply 10||05/02/2010|
Anything Norah does bores me to death. Can't stand her.
|by Anonymous||reply 11||05/02/2010|
I prefer Norah to Christina Agulera and that person with a dollar sign in her name.
|by Anonymous||reply 12||05/02/2010|
All three are useless and unlistenable and unwatchable, R12.
|by Anonymous||reply 13||05/02/2010|
I thought Norah Jones was one of those NPR Morning Edition people.
|by Anonymous||reply 14||05/02/2010|
I like Norah Jones' music/voice. I did find it strange when she started acting. Did she have an acting background prior to her fame? She just didn't strike me as the singer turned actress type (i.e. Britney, Miley, Janet, etc.).
|by Anonymous||reply 15||05/02/2010|
OMG - her musical arrangements are as exciting as a funeral march - blech - I loved the SNL skit they did - an ad for her new CD in which they all fell asleep a the party while playing the music LOL. It's especially awkward and painful for me because I associate one of her songs with my old married boss whom I had a fling with and he thought this was "our song" - what an ass he was -
|by Anonymous||reply 16||05/02/2010|
Someone in the UK did a wonderful, gorgeous remix of one of her songs (something Sunshine? I forget what it was called), but last I heard she had refused permission for its release because she apparently thought it wasn't "respectful" enough of her work. BBC Radio 1 was playing it a lot because people kept requesting it.
So she's permanently a loser in my eyes.
|by Anonymous||reply 17||05/02/2010|
I heard "Chasing Pirates" on the radio and decided to buy Norah's new disc, "The Fall." It's surprisingly good and much more upbeat than her old stuff.
|by Anonymous||reply 18||05/02/2010|
Talking about her father, Ravi Shankar.
|by Anonymous||reply 19||02/13/2013|
She once said that even her mom teases her by calling her "Snorah."
|by Anonymous||reply 20||02/13/2013|
I'm not a huge fan, but I do like "Happy Pills."
|by Anonymous||reply 21||02/13/2013|
Norah and Willie Nelson

Turn Me On

New Delhi: Singer Norah Jones left fans spellbound with her soulful voice as she performed for the first time in the capital Tuesday.
The show was opened by singer M.Ward, who played for almost an hour, before making way for Jones.
Jones, 33 was greeted by a huge roar from fans as she appeared on the stage. Dressed in a black and white printed short dress, the singer said she was "excited to perform here".

Stunning pic of her here.
|by Anonymous||reply 25||04/03/2013|
I like this performance.
|by Anonymous||reply 26||12/14/2013|
I'm in love with her flirtations with country music.
|by Anonymous||reply 27||12/14/2013|
|by Anonymous||reply 28||12/14/2013|
Don't know why
|by Anonymous||reply 29||12/14/2013|
Her music bores me but I love her and her voice
|by Anonymous||reply 30||12/14/2013|
I think she's gorgeous too.
|by Anonymous||reply 31||12/14/2013|
She did this duet with Seth MacFarlane last year for his record. Then they got nominated for an Oscar for the Ted song "Everybody Needs a Best Friend".
|by Anonymous||reply 32||12/14/2013|
Her new album with Billie Joe Armstrong is pretty good:
|by Anonymous||reply 33||12/14/2013|
I like her because she does her own thing and didn't go all Hollywood.
|by Anonymous||reply 34||12/15/2013|
|by Anonymous||reply 35||12/15/2013|
She's very pretty and seems smart And her voice is very soothing . I'll check out the Billie Jo Armstrong deal. Isn't her father someone famous ?!???!
|by Anonymous||reply 36||12/15/2013|
R36 - Her father was Ravi Shankar.
|by Anonymous||reply 37||12/15/2013|
I want her to marry Nick Jonas. Then she'd be Mrs. Norah Jones-Jonas and we'd have a Nick and Norah power couple.
|by Anonymous||reply 38||12/15/2013|
Her new album Little Broken Hearts is pretty good. More indie rock, not jazzy at all.
|by Anonymous||reply 39||06/10/2014|
You have to be in the mood to listen to her stuff, can be very boring otherwise...
|by Anonymous||reply 40||06/10/2014|
I prefer her jazzy stuff.
|by Anonymous||reply 41||06/10/2014|
|by Anonymous||reply 42||06/10/2014|
Sorry for bumping this thread, but I can't start new threads.
I just wanted to ask: how did Norah Jones and Adele manage to sell so many albums? Even people like Timberlake and Beyonce can't sell that many albums any more.

Interestingly enough R40, your friends say the exact same thing about their conversations with you.
|by Anonymous||reply 44||06/19/2014|
she sold albums because she swept the Grammys that year and people still fall for that bullshit
|by Anonymous||reply 45||06/19/2014|
The Grammy's fawn all over young, soulful sounding women: Norah Jones, Adele, India.Arie, Sade, Tracy Chapman, Lauryn Hill, Alicia Keys, Amy Winehouse, Jill Scott, Erykah Badu have all been Grammy darlings. Meanwhile most of them produced one album or two albums and then were never heard from again.
|by Anonymous||reply 46||06/19/2014|
Do you realize Sade has been around since 1984 and pretty much any album she has ever put out went Top 10 on both sides of the Atlantic? Her lack of productivity is another issue though...
|by Anonymous||reply 47||06/19/2014|
Her father was a Chancre.

Norah's lost some weight and has been looking fabulous lately.
|by Anonymous||reply 51||03/06/2015|
Really love Norah. Hers isn't always the music I play, but when I do, it's like, 'Oh, yeah ... Nor-ahhhhh'. Don't hate.
