So far the 4 women I know with baby voice had pasts with horrible abuse.
If a woman has a baby voice it''s a pretty sure bet she was molested right?
|by Anonymous||reply 56||04/24/2013|
Not all. Some just think it is cute and makes them desirable.
|by Anonymous||reply 1||04/07/2010|
Well, it doesn't.
|by Anonymous||reply 2||04/07/2010|
The Kardashian sisters must have been then...
|by Anonymous||reply 3||04/07/2010|
No, if they are lesbians it's a pretty sure bet they were molested.
|by Anonymous||reply 4||04/07/2010|
The only grown women I know with them were molested.

Oh! Well then. *rolls eyes*

Sometimes it's just an affectation, no?
Canada's most famed baby voice below:
|by Anonymous||reply 7||04/07/2010|
I've heard that. Not sure if it is true, but I do have a friend with a high squeaky voice and she was molested by her cousin.

|by Anonymous||reply 9||04/07/2010|
If you listen to "Loveline", any time they have a woman call in with little girl voice, Dr. Drew immediately pulls the "how old were you when you were molested" card out and sadly 90% of the time he's right. If they sound like a 7 yr-old, they were molested around that time. If they sound like a 10 yr-old, same thing. Their voices stunt around the time they were molested. And these are women from 18-30.
|by Anonymous||reply 10||04/07/2010|
I never connected the two.
|by Anonymous||reply 11||04/07/2010|
yeah I remember the Loveline thing. I still miss the days when it was Adam Carolla & Dr. Drew. I don't like anything they do independently of each other.
|by Anonymous||reply 12||04/07/2010|
What if they sound like Louise Jefferson? I know someone like that and she sexually abused too.
|by Anonymous||reply 13||04/07/2010|
No, the correlation is that if a woman of any voice is calling Loveline then she's been molested. If she calls at 7, she was 7. If she calls at 12, well, you get the picture.

What is Jennifer Tilly's excuse?
|by Anonymous||reply 15||04/07/2010|
Minnie Mouse owns this thread.
|by Anonymous||reply 16||04/07/2010|
Does my voice qualify?
|by Anonymous||reply 17||04/07/2010|
r10, I remember listening to Loveline when I had an evening job and, yep, Dr. Drew and Adam were right practically every time on when the woman was molested as a child based purely on her voice. Now, when I hear a woman talking with a child-like voice, I wonder when she was molested.
Another thing I remember Dr. Drew saying was that research on the brain showed that the section of the brain that is activated when a man looks at porn is the same section of the brain that is activated when a woman is talking. When I heard that, the differences between men and women completely made sense to me.

If a man talks in a high-pitched baby voice, does that mean he was molested?
|by Anonymous||reply 19||04/07/2010|
No. It means his butt plug is slipping.
|by Anonymous||reply 20||04/07/2010|
That's an interesting theory I've never heard. I once worked with a woman that would do baby talk as a way of flirting with the big boss. He completely bought into it. Knocked her up and married her.
There was another woman that I was friends with at that same job. Pretty progressive self-sufficient woman. It used to drive her crazy angry when she would hear the baby talker do her routine. She had no patience for that kind of shit.

I believe there was some serious abuse when they were children. Her sister Meg has written a novel about a girl and her sisters who are molested by their stepfather. Meg has stated that it's based on her childhood.
|by Anonymous||reply 22||04/07/2010|
What about Trista Wren, the first bachelorette, with her baby voice during all the episodes of The Bachelorette?
Trista has dropped the baby voice somewhat now that she has been married a while and has had two children.
|by Anonymous||reply 23||04/07/2010|
This always makes me think of Victoria Jackson, the fundamentalist neocon wacko who obviously has serious issues in her past.
|by Anonymous||reply 24||04/07/2010|
I can't stand women with little baby voices. I feel sorry for them because I know they can't help it, but they sound like such idiots.
|by Anonymous||reply 25||04/07/2010|
Does this mean Black Jack Bouvier molested Jackie Kennedy Onassis?
|by Anonymous||reply 26||04/07/2010|
Like their real voice sounds like a baby voice all the time? Or a baby voice affectation? Or that they use baby talk often?
|by Anonymous||reply 27||04/07/2010|
R10, that is just bullshit. "Dr." Drew has no clue what he's talking about. Estimates are that 1 out of every 3 women was sexually assaulted or abused at some point in her life. Childhood sexual abuse is far more prominent than arrest statistics show. So Dr. Drew has about a 90 percent chance to correctly "guess" that a woman was abused as a child. Also, it is very possible that women who call Dr. Drew have a higher rate of sexual abuse in their past.
There is absolutely no correlation between a high pitched voice and sexual molestation. What about the women with normal voices? You think they were not victims of abuse?
|by Anonymous||reply 28||04/07/2010|
Let me guess, r28. You're a lesbian, aren't you?
|by Anonymous||reply 29||04/07/2010|
I talk through my finger.
|by Anonymous||reply 30||04/07/2010|
Hasn't it been found that lisps are a signal of childhood trauma?
|by Anonymous||reply 31||04/07/2010|
Let me guess, r29. You're an idiot, aren't you?
|by Anonymous||reply 32||04/07/2010|
|by Anonymous||reply 33||04/07/2010|
R28, you have no idea what you're talking about. It is an absolutely real reaction to severe sexual trauma at a young age, no matter how much you loathe Drew.
|by Anonymous||reply 34||04/07/2010|
[quote]Let's trash women at the same moment we claim to be concerned for them
I had claimed nothing of the kind. In any case, you're a screaming cunt so I am not concerned in the least about you.
|by Anonymous||reply 35||04/07/2010|
R34, during my years as a marriage and family therapist, I specialized in treating adolescent sex offenders. Also, my thesis was on childhood sexual trauma and I am very familiar with the research literature on the topic. Granted, that was a few years ago, but I have never heard of any connection between a high-pitched voice and childhood sexual abuse. I may not be a practicing therapist but I do keep up with my field and I'm sure I would have come across a reference to it.
Now, some women who were abused may exhibit immature or childlike behaviors in an adult sexual scenario. And that can include baby talk. But that is not the same thing as a high-pitched voice. Your generalization is like saying 90 percent of women who like comfortable shoes are lesbians.
You show me a real reference to this high-pitched voice theory, other than Drew Pinsky's thoughts on it. Otherwise, stop spewing nonsense.
|by Anonymous||reply 36||04/07/2010|
I think there's a confusion in terminology.
OP used the phrase "baby voice," then R10 called it a 'little girl voice," and then R28 called it a "high pitched voice."
If we agree that child-like behaviors such as speaking "baby talk" are mannerisms which can be controlled, they are different than a high-pitched voice which, presumably, is caused by physical things like the length of the vocal cords.
If that's the case, R10 and R28 are saying virtually the same thing: a high percentage of women who use "baby talk" tend to have been molested as children (regardless of the pitch they use for their "baby talk").
Somehow, in the course of the thread, "baby talk" and "high-pitched voice" are being used interchangably, although they have different meanings.
|by Anonymous||reply 37||04/07/2010|
"Screaming cunt", such a nice phrase to use, not misogynistic at all.
|by Anonymous||reply 38||04/08/2010|
[quote]Dr. Drew immediately pulls the "how old were you when you were molested" card
Do you think I could get one of these at the Hallmark store?
|by Anonymous||reply 39||04/08/2010|
I believe a lot of women use the baby voice because they think it is cute and men will be attracted to it.
Marilyn Monroe, biggest sex symbol ever, used the baby voice.
Of course you then get into the issue of why these women want to be sexually pleasing to men and it can lead to histories of abuse and promiscuity and stuff.
|by Anonymous||reply 40||04/08/2010|
Paris Hilton uses the baby voice.
|by Anonymous||reply 41||04/08/2010|
Miz OP, I don't know NOTHIN' 'bout no mo-LES-TAY-shun!
|by Anonymous||reply 42||04/08/2010|
I've had girlfriends who pulled the baby talk crap when trying to manipulate. Total clit wilter.
|by Anonymous||reply 43||04/08/2010|
I was never molested.
|by Anonymous||reply 44||04/08/2010|
What about TV shows that have featured an entire cast of young women who talked like babies: "Charmed," "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," etc.
|by Anonymous||reply 45||04/09/2010|
[quote]Does this mean Black Jack Bouvier molested Jackie Kennedy Onassis?
She got all the attention.
|by Anonymous||reply 46||04/09/2010|
There's nothing sexier to straight men than grown women with little girl voices.
Except maybe grown women with little girl voices and great big jugs.
|by Anonymous||reply 47||04/09/2010|
What about Melanie Griffith? Was she molested?
|by Anonymous||reply 48||04/09/2010|
It's comforting to know Suzanne Pleshette was never molested.
|by Anonymous||reply 49||04/09/2010|
r49 made me laugh out loud. Ditto for Bea Arthur.
|by Anonymous||reply 50||04/09/2010|
Either that or she dated Larry Ellison
|by Anonymous||reply 51||04/09/2010|
If there is one this I HATE, it's when a guy talks in baby talk. Huge turn off.
|by Anonymous||reply 52||04/09/2010|
R47, are you a straighy guy? In my experience, the men I know find it a huge turn off and think any woman who speaks that way is an idiot.
|by Anonymous||reply 53||04/09/2010|
What??!!! (me doing a double take). What a rubbish thread
|by Anonymous||reply 54||04/09/2010|
Amazing lets ditch all the police investigations of molesters and the principle of innocent until proven guilty etc. and simply rely on the 'baby voice' test. That'll save a heap of time.
|by Anonymous||reply 55||04/09/2010|
I like a lot Jennifer Tilly. She is very...peculiar and sexy.
