Maybe it will be issue that forces Democrats and Republicans to work together. I don’t mean working together in a lovefest. I mean working together in a massive brawl that leaves everyone bloody and beaten but somehow delivers a compromise product.

Republicans are untrustworthy. The current budget was bipartisan, requiring 60 votes in the Senate. The Republicans just backtracked on those commitments with $9B of rescissions, slashing USAID and public broadcasting.

I’m in a state that doesn’t take subsidies from the federal government. When I was unemployed, I checked out the ACA rates comparable to my work insurance. It was $1800 a month and benefits were so-so. Nothing great and with considerable co-pays.
For COBRA, it was $899 a month and that included VSP and decent dental insurance
I realize COBRA is only available for 18 months, but still. I remember when COBRA was considered soooo expensive. Now, it’s the cheaper option; at least for 18 months
