I was intrigued to see British right-wing writer, Douglas Murray, known for his antipathy towards immigrants, especially Muslims (who are apparently plotting to end Europe from the inside by breeding as fast as they possibly can) waking down Fire Island Boulevard a few days ago with none other than porn baron Michael Lucas, who shares some of his political beliefs. I wondered just how cosy they might be getting. Murray looks nothing like his byline photo. I was surprised by his shortness and stodgy face.
Douglas Murray and Michael Lucas

It's half of young British muslims who want to see you in jail for being gay OP but no, leathery old porn stars are the real problem.

I saw Douglas Murray as The Eagle Sunday beer bust last week and he was a wasted, slutty mess. To be fair, so was I so no judgment.

Thanks for the clarification, R4...
by Anonymous | reply 5 | September 4, 2023 9:56 PM |
Oh please, R1, I grew up under a 1980s conservative government whose members actively agitated for the recriminalisation of homosexuality. Nothing that British Muslims (and I live above a multi-generational family of them) have done comes close.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | September 4, 2023 9:59 PM |
I’d sooner fuck Douglas Murray than Owen Jones, at least Murray has a waspish sense of humour.
But as R1 says, Britain’s Muslim population is profoundly homophobic. And if you say ‘Sadiq Khan’ I’ll reply Birmingham two summers ago.

R6, 3 years after David Cameron pushed through same sex marriage this poll was conducted.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | September 4, 2023 10:02 PM |
R7 These homophobic rancid nobodies don’t have their hands anywhere near the levers of power - unlike the fat, white, oily conservatives of the 80s who really did want to reverse all gay freedoms (and, decades on, voted in the majority against gay marriage).
by Anonymous | reply 9 | September 4, 2023 10:03 PM |
Is Douglas Murray a top, reflecting his Attilian political views, or the bossiest of bottoms?
by Anonymous | reply 10 | September 4, 2023 10:03 PM |
R8 And most of Cameron’s party would have agreed with those Muslims - gay marriage had to be “pushed through” by the other parties because so many of Cameron’s white, Christian MPs voted against it.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | September 4, 2023 10:04 PM |
R9; stop fighting a war that’s been won. it’s not old white men who want to put us in prison, its young Muslim men.
There was a poll last month about tolerance/acceptance of gay people. London is the least tolerant part of the UK. And also the most religious.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | September 4, 2023 10:06 PM |
People are fools to credit Cameron with gay marriage. He simply saw an opportunity to upstage a left-wing achievement (civil partnership). He had never been anything other than hostile towards gay rights and was on record as a Section 28 fan. It was purely politic - there wasn’t so much as a flake of genuine conviction in his push for gay marriage.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | September 4, 2023 10:08 PM |
R13, same sex marriage wouldn’t have happened without Cameron. Despise him all you like and question his motives as you’ve done. But he made it happen.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | September 4, 2023 10:10 PM |
R14 There is absolutely no reason why it couldn’t have happened without him. The only threat to it was his own party.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | September 4, 2023 10:12 PM |
This is what I hate about the present. Objectively, factually, truthfully, gay marriage happened under the coalition government, which Cameron led. But in 2023 we have to have nonsense like "There is absolutely no reason why it couldn’t have happened without him." This is such an absurd statement. You could apply it to anything that happened. Ridiculous. We are so tied up in knots we have to twist everything to make everyone we disagree with an absolute villain. Gay marriage became law in the United Kingdom under a Conservative Prime Minister, David Cameron. Deal with it. Fuck! Arrrgh! My head is exploding at the stupid of the times in which we live. Settle down, people, and grow the fuck up.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | September 4, 2023 10:15 PM |
He and Owen Jones should do a double sided dildo fuck, the ultimate political horseshoe.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | September 4, 2023 10:16 PM |
R15 do you understand how parliamentary democracy works in the UK?
There wasn’t a huge political push for same sex marriage, certainly not from Miliband’s Labour Party. It happened because the Prime Minister wanted it to happen.
Anyway, who remembers the Batley and Spen by election two years ago when Labour’s lesbian candidate went back into the closet to avoid upsetting the Muslim community who were being courted the repulsive George Galloway? The issue of the teacher who had to go into hiding after death threat’s barely came up in the election.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | September 4, 2023 10:18 PM |
Oh don’t be so crass, R16. I was responding to the assertion that gay marriage could only have happened under Cameron.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | September 4, 2023 10:19 PM |
And the Batley teacher and his girlfriend and 4 kids are still in hiding with a new identity.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | September 4, 2023 10:20 PM |
Of course I understand how it works, R18. If you had more than a glancing familiarity with it, you’d know that gay marriage happened in spite of the majority of Cameron’s MPs voting against it.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | September 4, 2023 10:22 PM |
R19, sorry to be pedantic but I said that same sex marriage *wouldn’t* have happened without Cameron, not *couldn’t* have happened.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | September 4, 2023 10:23 PM |
R1 must be too young to remember who actually did massacre us. Nazis. Reagan. Thatcher.

I have a friend who has moved to the right even since 2020 and he claims Murray is the smartest man alive. I don't have the energy to deal with some gay Ben Shapiro.
Is there anything of note about Murray that makes him stand apart from the dark web intellectual crowd (or whatever they call themselves these days)?
by Anonymous | reply 24 | September 4, 2023 10:25 PM |
The old queens on here have every reason to hate the people who passed anti gay laws and made life harder for us. But they lost. We won. We have the rights in law we fought for. And in the UK that’s because we are a secular country without religious influence.
But attitudes are changing towards gay people with more conservative religious communities - in London it’s Muslims and west African Christians who oppose gay rights.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | September 4, 2023 10:27 PM |
R24 Not really. And he’s not nearly as grand as that silly, self-consciously titivated accent would suggest.

He takes it up the ass? The fact that he's openly gay is all that comes to mind.

I thought Dave Rubin filled that hole - er role, R27.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | September 5, 2023 6:43 AM |
Oh, you're right, R28. Rubin certainly had that role FILLED on the other side of the Atlantic.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | September 5, 2023 6:46 AM |
R1, a lot of right-wingers want to see you dead or in jail. Like those Nazis marching in Florida
by Anonymous | reply 30 | September 5, 2023 6:51 AM |
It's not a competition R30.
We don't have Nazis marching the streets of the UK. There were 2 homophobic attacks in London in the last 2 weeks. No descriptions given of the attackers other than "male", and the photo released of the first suspect shows quite clearly he is a young black man.

I see Murray is crowing in the Telegraph today about how U.K. migrants should be packed off to live in Islington (North London) - presumably, that would really own the libs. You’d think, given his petit bourgeois background in Hammersmith, he’d know that Islingtonians are generally perfectly comfortable living among non-whites. The idea they’d be perturbed by migrants is nonsense.

Douglas is correct about 90% of the time and is actually likable.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | September 5, 2023 8:44 PM |
So the lisping, vitriolic, queen-of-mean thing he does on TV, whenever someone opposes his views, is all just a camp act?
by Anonymous | reply 34 | September 5, 2023 8:55 PM |
If you want to get the gist of Douglas Murray’s world-class wit and devilishly clever put-downs, here’s an excerpt from a new piece in which he resuscitates 1970s variety-show humour about the Scots (unhealthy) and Norfolk (cousin-shaggers). Oh what a wag! What dazzling displays of humour.

He seems to have adopted this "louche Oxford don straight out of Evelyn Waugh" persona in recent years, mainly seen in his languorous and suggestive delivery when being interviewed. I haven't seen too many, mind you, as I find him a bit irritating.
I think that getting older has hit him really hard. He threw himself into exercising and it seems to have aged his face quite dramatically.
