Mescal's presence likely helped get the film financed. I agree with the poster above that Scott can be a bit much at times (in the NT Live video of PRESENT LAUGHTER he was insufferable) but hopefully Haigh can get him to relax as an actor in this one.

I did finally watch Aftersun, and it was lovely and he was very good. Would have been my second choice for the Oscar (after Colin Farrell). I also watched The Whale, and oh my God that was terrible. HATED IT and I can’t believe Fraser won.

It's listed in Mescal's IMDB profile as one of 8 upcoming projects. It says that it is in preproduction, so his participation is probably not a for sure thing.

The stalker OP has been stalking not only me, but my family since 2019. I have files filled with the places he’s posted my photos he stole from Instagram, the sites he has mentioned my full name (sites I am not even on and some I didn’t even know existed), the sites he was stalking my families social media, the threats he’s made to me etc. This is all very real.

That article makes a very good argument for Paul having committed suicide because he had AIDS. The choice of the Freddie Mercury song would seem to be the keystone, because when I saw the scene I thought “Odd they chose such a clichéd song.”

While I would differentiate from doing a “hidden” gay role like Aftersun to this new film, the fact that he’s also doing a gay film with Josh O’Connor does make me uncomfortable given that he does not appear to be queer. I can see why he’s cast because he has a softness combined with the big athletic body that gay men desire, but - he’s taking those roles at the expense of a gay actor.

Also, the Paul Mescal troll appears to have been D*a R*e this whole time. Behaves just like her.
