Let's try again. Who would it be?
TRULY the greatest mean girl ever in a movie about high school

Chris Hargensen, for sure.
She was a slut, she talked back to her teacher, she called her boyfriend a dumbshit, she traded sex for favors, she had someone kill a pig for her, and she licked her lips before dumping a bucket of blood on the object of her bullying.
Then at the end, she was responsible for negligent homicide in the death of Tommy Ross, and FLED the scene of the crime after it was all over.
Chris Hargensen was a monster!!

I'm not Kenickie trying to get her to put out by calling her by her Christian name, r4.

Yes clearly Chris Hargensen is the obvious choice. She was terrifying! Even more so in the book. The others look like choir girls in comparison.

Another vote for Chris Hargensen

I voted for Chris Hargensen. She is a mean girl masterpiece.
But honorable mention should go to Wendy Richards in the original Prom Night from 1980. She’s even an alpha mean girl in the chilling introductory scene as a child.
But as a teenager, she’s far worse: hyper-competitive (for the prom queen title AND for the prom king!), casually cruel, and bathing in her status as a hot blonde rich bitch in a hot car.
And she gets one of the best chase scenes in horror history.

Regarding the prom:
“It’s not who you go with, honey. It’s who takes you home.”
Also her red prom dress is fantastic.

R8 Well books are longer than movies of course, so King is really able to go into her psychology and she’s just presented as pure evil. If I remember correctly, there’s a scene where a principal or teacher lists off a litany of Chris’s transgressions against students other than Carrie. All vulnerable, and all tormented by Chris. For one of them it’s because they have a hair lip. I don’t remember if that’s in the movie or not?
I will say that Nancy Allen was spectacular casting for the part. DePalma did a really good job all round actually.. It’s amusing to me to think that you would cast your wife in such a part. And she really showed her versatility as an actor by playing the hooker in Blow Out a few years later. That character was basically the polar opposite of Chris Hargensen.
At any rate, between the book and the movie, Chris Hargensen is one of those characters whose names you never forget.

MISTER WEINBERGER.....DAWN DAVENPORT is eating a meatball sandwich RIGHT out in class.
AND she's been passing notes.

I think DePalma and Allen started dating while making Carrie so maybe it was her portrayal of Chris that made him fall for her in the first place. Allen generally presents as kind in most of the other things I've seen her in so it was quite the impressive performance playing Chris.

One of the funniest parts of "Carrie" is the way Nancy Allen says "Billy Nolan" when Miss Collins asks her who she's going to the prom with. She says it as if Miss Collins has to be an idiot for even asking, since it's obviously it's something everyone in the universe already knows.
