Sometimes people who commit suicide can be incredibly cruel. Bill & Kevin were a couple in my friend group. Bill was around 39 and was a very handsome firefighter/emt. He also had borderline personality disorder.

On the night Bill hanged himself in the garage, he brother had just arrived for an annual visit. He two small children came to visit as well. They were around 7 and 10. Bill's mother was also staying with him at the time.

On that day, Bill texted his bf to tell him that he had just fucked some rando from Grindr. They ended up breaking up that day over that incident. So then just a few hours later during the night, Bill had a noose that the strung from the garage door track & killed himself.

The one saving grace is that those kids didn't wake up first to find his lifeless body. It was his mother who found his body in the garage the next morning.

Bill was a real piece of shit and I still have complicated feelings about him a decade later.

His bf had broken up with him and to exact revenge the 32 year old decided to kill himself using helium. As he lay dying, he texted his ex to come over a few hours later. At that point, he would have def. been dead from the helium, so it wasn't a cry for help. The guy who killed himself wanted the ex to find the body and be racked with guilt.

And to be quite honest, I still despise Bill and how traumatized those kids would have been if they had found the body. From what I've read, people who are left in the wake of a suicide often have what's called "complicated grief".

At the break between shows, the producers had a word with her, which led to a threat to leave early. It was a Saturday, so there was no one they could get on short notice. Henry Winkler was producer at the time, so it was decided he would do the final two shows in her place.
