[quote]After their takeover, the group had envisioned renegotiating the treaties Germany signed after the end of the second world war with the allies. “For now, the Russian Federation was exclusively to be the central contact for these negotiations,” prosecutors said.
Hilarious.

More "far right" stuff comes to light. Nasty.

This part's my favorite -
[Quote] Heinrich XIII comes from an old noble family known as the House of Reuss, which ruled over parts of the modern eastern state of Thuringia until 1918. All the male members of the family were given the name Heinrich as well as a number.
[Quote] Descendants still own a few castles and Heinrich himself is said to have a hunting lodge at Bad Lobenstein in Thuringia.
[Quote] The rest of the family have long distanced themselves from the minor aristocrat, with one spokesman telling local broadcaster MDR during the summer that Heinrich was an "at times confused" man who had fallen for "misconceptions fuelled by conspiracy theories".

[quote]German reports say the group of far-right and ex-military figures planned to storm the parliament building, the Reichstag, and seize power.
And the German police and military would just observe this calmly, while the Russian army waltzed past Poland into Germany to support them. These loons are stuck in another century, but maybe that's for the best.

How hard can it be to do a simple coup?

The real problem is that quite a few people involved hold, or used to hold, relevant offices within the German state. Nobody would care if these were some of these ordinary far right fruitloops you get to meet by the dozen in some parts of Eastern Germany.

And the leftist president of Peru was arrested yesterday when he tried to invade their parliament. The Vice President, a woman, was sworn in. The military refused to go along with his coup attempt and the courts declared it illegal.
And Trump wants to suspend the Constitution.
Not to be a both sides troll but authoritarianism seems to be on both the left and the right and really coming to the fore right now. Parliamentary democracy is under attack from extremists on both sides.

These "far right" groups provide a win-win situation for the German voter. These groups attack Muslims and Jews. Muslims attack Jews. The German voter is left on the sidelines, unscathed.
