Numerous pocketbooks fall out of this qween's mouth when he goes into rapture about this 1958 DeSoto- which happens to be a beautiful car.

I knew this would be Charles Phoenix when I read the thread title. Love him. I believe his father had a car lot when he was growing up so he has always had an affinity for them.

This DeSoto makes me WET!

by Anonymousreply 2December 6, 2022 9:56 PM

Top this, Elon Musk. I dare you.

by Anonymousreply 3December 6, 2022 10:20 PM

^ "Top this"

Ha! You call those fins?

And I'm certain, OP, that were you to open your piehole to wax rhapsodic about some gloriously finned fifties automobile, that you would not sound one single bit like a vagina on legs. Not one single bit.

Fuck off, cunt.

by Anonymousreply 6December 6, 2022 10:36 PM

That was Jimmy Stewart's character's car in "Vertigo"

It's hard for me to even imagine a time when Chrysler built a prestige auto.

by Anonymousreply 7December 6, 2022 10:38 PM

Chrysler cars ( Plymouths, Dodges, DeSotos and Chryslers) in the late 1950's were gorgeous cars.

That really is a beautiful car.

I love the classic late 50s/Cold War era-inspired American cars.

In 1967-69, I had a 1960 Dodge. I don't remember the exact model, but it looked like this green one. It had a push-button transmission. I mostly drove to school and then hung around with this clique of boys a year younger than I was, as I had my first crush on one of them. He has a very uncommon last name, and I have never been able to find him on the internet. Dead, I suppose. I hated the car. Too big. I got a Fiat Spider next.

My father had this car when I was a little kid. We always had green cars. I like the color green best, too, for lots of things.

R13- I would have hated a car like the Fiat Spider- underpowered and undersized.

by Anonymousreply 16December 6, 2022 10:58 PM

^ For r12

by Anonymousreply 17December 6, 2022 10:59 PM

Oh, r16, it was AWFUL. Fiat is the perfect acronym for Fix It Again, Tony.

I am always fascinated by gay men who focus on how "gay" other gay men sound.

Most of the time, I find it hard to tell the difference between the accuser and the accused.

One of my first memories as a child was my dad pulling up to the house in a brand new blue '59 Chevy and all the excitement that swirled around that event

R20- The 1959 Full size Chevrolets had GULL WING fins- the styling was fabulous.

by Anonymousreply 21December 6, 2022 11:15 PM

^ It was a damn good car. My dad sold it to my uncle then it was my cousin's first car well into the 70s

by Anonymousreply 22December 7, 2022 12:05 AM

The guy in OP's video is wrong about the color of that ‘57 DeSoto — that's not sage green, it’s Nile Green.

by Anonymousreply 23December 7, 2022 12:21 AM

^ ‘58, not ‘57.

by Anonymousreply 24December 7, 2022 12:24 AM

That fake masc voice is grating my ears.

by Anonymousreply 25December 7, 2022 12:27 AM

God, I HATE the sight and sound of Charles Phoenix.

by Anonymousreply 26December 7, 2022 12:45 AM

R26- He sounds like a bitchy queen.

It’s why transgenderism is so popular, you can thank gay men for it, not any other group.

by Anonymousreply 30December 7, 2022 1:18 AM

The car in the video has stereotypical Jetsons styling. It looks like a futuristic Jetsons car. It's weird but cool that it was an actual car.

One of my friends was obsessed with Charles Phoenix for a time, so we made her this cake for her birthday. It seriously took all day to make it, and my kitchen smelled like a See's Candy (or a Fannie May depending on where you grew up) for about a month. Six cake mixes, seven kinds of cereal. Maybe a half dozen cans of icing. It was a lot., but it was delicious. The texture of the cakes wound up being very dense (which I like) and then the corn flakes added a crunch. It was nowhere near as sweet as you might think. Shocking, I know.

The next year, we made her his Cherpumple cake, which was a cherry pie baked into a chocolate cake, a pumpkin pie baked into a spice cake and an apple pie baked into a yellow cake. It was near impossible to deal with, and it just caved in on itself after cutting. Fun memories though.

The cherpumple is the turducken of desserts.

I kind of like his idea of combining lasagne and enchiladas, but I would spell it "enchisagne," not "inchezonya."

Ree Drummon (the Pioneer Woman) has a recipe for Enchilasagna.

He may sound bitchy, but he has a really positive energy. And a cute bear boyfriend

I've known hin for years, and he is a bitchy queen. He thought he would be replacing Huell Howser, but PBS didn't want him.

by Anonymousreply 39December 8, 2022 3:52 AM

Meh get some drinks in him , face in a pillow , I would hit that

by Anonymousreply 40December 8, 2022 3:59 AM
