Biopic roles that would be good Oscar bait

-Dr. Anthony Fauci biopic may be the perfect Oscar vehicle for Steve Martin.

-Naomi Judd biopic focused on the last year of her life.

-Ellen Johnson Sirleaf possible role for Octavia Spencer

by Anonymousreply 63December 8, 2022 2:35 AM

Johnny Depp as Keith Richards.

by Anonymousreply 1December 1, 2022 1:09 AM

Julia Roberts as Oprah Winfrey

by Anonymousreply 2December 1, 2022 1:11 AM

Mao Zedong. He was a genius military commander, a feminist and a raging asshole who killed tens of millions.

by Anonymousreply 3December 1, 2022 1:12 AM

Thandiwe Newton as Eartha Kitt (seriously there NEEDS to be a biopic of her life).

by Anonymousreply 4December 1, 2022 1:14 AM

To Xir With Love: The Sam Smith Story

by Anonymousreply 5December 1, 2022 1:14 AM

R1 Hollywood better jump on that because I think there's a good chance Keith will outlive Johnny.

Gaga IS Huma! Deneuve IS Hillary! McCaughnehey IS Weiner!

Ashley Judd IS Naomi Judd. Rosie O is Wy, and Ashley Judd is also Ashley Judd. Coming in 2024: 'Love Wants to Jump Off a Bridge'.

by Anonymousreply 12December 1, 2022 1:25 AM

This holiday season Lauverne Cox IS Nancy Carter

by Anonymousreply 13December 1, 2022 1:27 AM

Julia Garner IS Jean Harlow

And this one I am fucking serious about because sometimes it's uncanny how she already resembles her in some shots/angles on Ozark. With the right hair/makeup/costumes, she would be amazing. They need to get to getting on this before she gets much older, but she would be really perfect.

by Anonymousreply 14December 1, 2022 1:33 AM

Gwyneth Paltrow IS Blythe Danner!

by Anonymousreply 15December 1, 2022 1:35 AM

Catherine Deneuve as Penny Mordaunt in Revulsion.

Chrissy Metz as The Grand Canyon

by Anonymousreply 18December 1, 2022 1:38 AM

Ariana Grande IS Connie Francis.

The rape scene alone would guarantee an Oscar nomination.

Joan Collins is Unfiltered: The Mrs. Michael Doulas, 37 Story

by Anonymousreply 20December 1, 2022 1:42 AM

Glenn Close IS...well, never mind.

by Anonymousreply 21December 1, 2022 1:44 AM

I can think of someone whose "biopic" would be amply filled by Silky Nutmeg Ganache.

You know. That poor nominee. She twerks or something. Whatever her name is.

by Anonymousreply 22December 1, 2022 1:46 AM

Brittany Spears as Barbara Peyton

by Anonymousreply 23December 1, 2022 1:58 AM

Charlize Theron IS Mrs. Patsy Ramsey

by Anonymousreply 24December 1, 2022 1:58 AM

I’m still shocked that no enterprising young actress hasn’t sweep up the rights to Dare Wright’s life and done a movie yet. The White Michelle Williams would have been perfect a few years ago and could maybe still pull it off. But, perhaps now Chloe Grace-Moeretz would be the best contender.

R11, I would SO watch that! (Gaga is turning into a fantastic actress.)

by Anonymousreply 26December 1, 2022 2:57 AM

Amy Adams IS Fergie, Duchess of Pork.

by Anonymousreply 27December 1, 2022 10:23 AM

Agree about Dare Wright. It is very odd that no one has done a biopic, you'd think it would be a natural.

Kathleen Turner should play end times Gertrude Stein.

by Anonymousreply 28December 1, 2022 10:31 AM

R27 lol that made me laugh. I could see that happening. Or, Amy will try to find some biopic of a female American politician likely Hilary Clinton for Oscar bait.

I've thought that Michelle Monaghan looks like that stupid cunt governor of South Dakota Kristi Noem. I don't think will ever be a Noem biopic.

by Anonymousreply 29December 1, 2022 1:17 PM

M should play Trump. She wouldn’t have to gain much weight.

by Anonymousreply 30December 1, 2022 1:21 PM

Tituss Burgess as Andre Leon Talley.

by Anonymousreply 31December 1, 2022 1:31 PM

Thank you, R26. I needed a good laugh.

Gal Gadot as Melanija Knavs. I'm imagining a movie detailing a young girl's erotic journey from Ljubljana to NYC.

by Anonymousreply 37December 1, 2022 3:27 PM

The Poop Emoji IS Lizzo

by Anonymousreply 38December 1, 2022 3:28 PM

Laura Linney IS Dr. Jill Biden. The monologue after she meets Widower Joe and woos him will shoo her in for the win.

by Anonymousreply 39December 1, 2022 3:44 PM

Viola Davis in "Negro Woman of the South: The Oprah Winfrey Story."

by Anonymousreply 40December 1, 2022 3:49 PM

R39 I see that as more of a one person theater piece than a movie. It could be like her Hal Holbrook production of Mark Twain that she tours the country relentlessly in once her career has peaked.

by Anonymousreply 41December 1, 2022 3:51 PM

Britney Spears: Hit my Crack pipe one more time.

by Anonymousreply 42December 1, 2022 3:51 PM

I’d like to see Gal Gadot’s Portrait of Golda Meir as a Young Girl instead.

by Anonymousreply 43December 1, 2022 3:52 PM

Was Golda ever young?

by Anonymousreply 44December 1, 2022 3:53 PM

I like to think she was once young and pretty, before the change.

by Anonymousreply 46December 1, 2022 4:00 PM

Gwyneth Paltrow in BLONDE AMBITION playing Tippi Hedren during the making of The Birds.

Gwyneth will miss out on the Oscar, but Brendan Fraser will win Best Supporting Actor for playing Alfred Hitchcock at his most corpulent.

by Anonymousreply 47December 1, 2022 4:01 PM

Kathy Bates as Elon Musk

by Anonymousreply 48December 1, 2022 11:37 PM

Gwyneth Paltrow is fifty years old.

R49 OK fine, then Gwyneth Paltrow IS Blythe Danner: The Later Years

by Anonymousreply 50December 2, 2022 12:08 AM

R47, Sienna Miller did that!

Anya Taylor Joy for r25

by Anonymousreply 51December 2, 2022 1:03 AM

Why nobody has done a biopic about DL fave Dorothy Kilgallen I’ll never know. Monica Dolan should get that done immediately.

by Anonymousreply 52December 2, 2022 1:57 AM

R52 There was an announcement in 2018 about a movie being in development.

Camilla Parker-Bowles-Mountbatten-Windsor IS Christine McVie: The Final Years.

by Anonymousreply 54December 2, 2022 6:14 AM

Years ago, I remember Vera Farmiga signed on to play Christine McVie in a movie. It must have been shelved.

by Anonymousreply 55December 2, 2022 1:55 PM

If Lens Dunham went on a diet/gastric bypass/took pills, I honestly believe she could not only play a good Dot Kilgallen, but also write the screenplay and direct. A triple Oscar! #justiceforlens

by Anonymousreply 56December 2, 2022 11:02 PM

Matthew Goode in a Jim McGreevy biopic.

by Anonymousreply 57December 8, 2022 1:11 AM

Dan Abrams - hot AF

Sarah Jessica Parker as Joan Rivers in the 1980s (her big crazy decade, with her talk show and Edga;'s suicide).

by Anonymousreply 62December 8, 2022 2:32 AM
