R35, I'm right there with you in how power is divided. It is insane how the Senate works and that the electoral college determines the president. I was just talking in raw numbers and how ridiculous that so few people are being magnified as some huge number.

There is no way in hell the country will survive where Senate Dems rep 43 Million more than Reps and yet the Senate is "50-50." I don't see a future where the Senate survives with the way it's going. It won't, nor should it. It's preposterous and outdated, especially when most of the money comes from blue states while idiots in red states have their handout and having the audacity to scream about the evils of "socialism."

I have never understood why people think the EC and Senate are wrong. The Senate has two senators each, so that each sovereign state that jointly makes up the Union is equal in that house, that isn’t a defect of the Constitution. Designed so that no state can think they are more or less important than any other. Also, when it comes to the EC I would not get rid of it but instead reform it along the lines of Maine and Nebraska where the statewide winner automatically gets the two votes allocated for Senate seats and then the House districts are awarded individually.

There are enough red districts in blue states - and a much smaller number of blue districts in red states - to virtually guarantee a Republican victory in every election.
