You can see two parked cars to the right of the killer's car.

One of those parked cars was actually blocking the street, so the killer had to go around that car.

Then the killer sees the fight in the street, turns off their lights, turns it back on, then hits the gas.

Not sure what the motivation was, but it was definitely done on purpose.

The driver's lights don't go on and off, you're seeing the lights briefly blocked by the pole of a traffic light as he drives "underneath" it.

For the people in disbelief about the footage - nearly everyone has a dashcam nowadays. I put one in my car a few months ago after my brother was in an accident (not his fault) and the other driver lied about the incident. My brother produced the dash cam footage to the police and the other driver had to pay his deductible.

The two that went flying definitely died on impact. There was no way they could have survived that hit. They must have been dead before they hit the ground.

Since I last looked into this, a study was released that showed no improvement with glasses but I will note there were only 22 participants. That study appears to have changed all the preexisting guidance. I am speaking from my personal experience that I did find relief, others may not.

The extremely harsh headlights are cool white. One can see visible blue with these types of led, easily noticeable in the difference between warm white and cool white christmas lights. I'm not saying they literally cause eye damage, only that they are very harsh and bright.

I have a dashcam in my car, R34, and don't drive for rideshare. It's silly not to have one in this day and age. I don't trust people and need irrefutable evidence for insurance or law enforcement if anything should happen. Plus if there is another accident I can be a good Samaritan and share it.

It's like the article said: "We can't arrest a car."

If no one is talking, then they can't just arrest the registered owner.

They can bring the owner in for questioning, but what if the person is on the run and can't be found?

They also have to dust the car and steering wheel for prints.

But none of this is evidence that the owner of the car was driving it at the time.

In order to have a solid case, you have to put the driver of the vehicle IN the vehicle at the time.

They have to have been in or near the club right before the crime happened, their prints have to be on the steering wheel, there have to be witnesses who saw them driving the car, there has to be a motive, etc.

It takes a lot to arrest and convict someone, and you have to have solid evidence. Otherwise, the person will get away with it.

So right now, the police are in the investigative phase of the case.

Witnesses need to step forward with the name of the driver, eyewitness accounts, etc. Then a photo of that person should be released to the public, so that they can be brought in for questioning and possibly arrested, while evidence is being gathered.

Without any of that, there is no case.

Your measurement was average speed over a greater length of time measured on a car that started from a standstill. So your numbers include when he was going 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and 5, etc., miles per hour as he accelerated thereby bringing your average speed way, way down. It was not anywhere near your "approximate" number no matter how many little symbols you put in front of your number.

And speed radar guns technically measures [bold]velocity[/bold] using doppler radar, meaning it's measuring radio frequency waves around the object (vehicle) and how quickly they bounce back to the radar gun. It's a completely different formula. But this vehicle was not at a standstill, they were already in motion by the time the video started. The speed estimate is within a reasonable range for the distance traveled. Saying it was 75-85 mph, which I was initially responding to, is what's "simply fucking wrong."

They weren't at a standstill, but they were going very slowly at first.

You can't just figure speed by using distance when the vehicle in question is accelerating. You have to also account for acceleration. That's why you can't just use s=d/t, you have to calculate for motion with constant acceleration, which is a far different process.

A week later, police say they’ve placed Tavis Dunbar, 34, behind the wheel of the car. What they don’t have yet is a clear motive.

Police do not believe he had been involved in the fight, and they have no evidence the attack was a hate crime directed at people inside the pub, a well-known gay bar in South Shore.

Later in court, prosecutors laid out more of the case against Dunbar, but key questions remain about what caused him to get into his cousin’s car and floor the gas pedal, never braking as he headed straight toward the people in the street, as the charges allege.

An altercation had broken out in front of the bar shortly before 5 a.m. and had spilled into the street, according to prosecutors. While police say Dunbar was not involved, court documents say a witness heard a man resembling his description yell out, “I got something for you, you mother------.”

The witness said the person then walked north on Jeffrey, toward where Dunbar’s car was parked. Video shows the headlights soon coming on and then the car speeding toward the group.

The car’s “block box” shows it was traveling at 47 mph 2 1/2 seconds before impact and 59 mph a half-second before the car hit the four men.

“The accelerator was depressed 99% and (Dunbar) never once touched the brakes,” prosecutors said in a statement presented in court. ”(He) essentially slammed on the gas pedal as he drove directly into four human beings.

“Each were either thrown up in the air ... or dragged by the car and left to die in the street as (Dunbar) drove off,” the statement said.

Dunbar made it three more blocks before he parked it, the front end heavily damaged.A witness told police they heard the car making clunking noises up the street.

Dunbar was seen pacing back and forth outside the car while on his cell phone, prosecutors said. He had apparently parked near a friend’s home and called out to him and was let inside.

The friend told police Dunbar’s hands were bloody and there was glass in his hair. Dunbar mentioned the fight outside the bar but not “the true extent of what happened,” prosecutors said. The friend drove Dunbar home, stopping at the parked car so Dunbar could retrieve some items.

At home, Dunbar told someone else he had been kicked out of the bar and drove away because “people were coming at him,” prosecutors said. He claimed he got into an accident as he fled and heavily damaged it, according to prosecutors.

Later, as video of the attack circulated, Dunbar asked that person to provide an alibi for him. The person refused, telling Dunbar he had killed two people.

“Actually, it’s three,” Dunbar replied, according to prosecutors.

As police tracked down Dunbar through video and witnesses, he surrendered to police Monday morning and “invoked his right to remain silent,” Deenihan said. “I know there’s a lot of questions on why did he do this,” he said. “We do not have that motive right now. He did not talk.”
