The Minnesota State Fair has always done odd food to get attention, but the new entries sound like dudebro shit created while smoking copious amounts of weed. Crap glopped together to get attention. The pickle pizza with Ranch sauce is the most vomit inducing example.

Pioneer Woman's new episode (yesterday) featured "State Fair Foods," and one of them was a bacon-mac-and-cheese egg roll. (She also did a giant turkey leg, fried cheese on a stick, and an Italian ice.)

Oh great, another Janet Jackson thread.

Pickle pizza is a trend.
Americans have an extremely long history of hating on anything that stands out. Some of these trends flame out, and some become mainstream. Either way, no one gets hurt.
Why not just lighten up?

If Janet is performing, I will definitely be there! But only if she sings "Nasty".

Corn dogs are vile.
I have been to the MN state fair and do love fried cheese curds but they are simple and not all glopped up.

R15 I am sick to death of challenges and food wars. This combative society will kill itself.
Can we go back to deep fried spam?

R15 How do you cook "against" someone?

OP none of that looks appetizing to me, except for maybe the guava slushy. But to each their own.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | August 14, 2022 4:46 PM |
That's the point of state fairs, to try different foods and maybe gorge. None of the stuff at OP's link looked tempting to me, but people obviously like it.

you go to this state fair, op, and get fucked by the preacher in a ten,t and jump off a bridge.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | August 14, 2022 6:20 PM |
I have the opposite reaction, OP. I think it's wonderful that more ethnic food is finding its way into the Midwest. They need it out there. Enough with the shit food.
Arby's, Carl's and CFA as your only options, is not a good thing.

Does anyone remember " Dippin' Dots," which was advertised as the " Ice Cream of the Future" at every fair, state or local. It's the future, but WHET them.

That contrived bullshit is not ethnic, it is being produced by white man on pot.
