The Rivian Truck is here
Elon musk os such a laughing stock loser.
I saw one of these Rivian pickups on the road today with the hottest looking blond stud/twink imaginable driving it today and it’s beautiful (the twink too).
Tesla has been trying to do something like this for a decade and nada. Another pipe dream from Elon.
Anyway, I want one. Anyone own one? They are gorg!

It's going to take a while until Rivian can produce as many vehicles as Tesla.

That’s funny because I am seeing these trucks on the road.
And yet I’m not seeing Tesla’s make believe truck.

This guy is a dork. Who ever bought into elons pr?
I got a bridge to sell you…

Where is Tesla’s truck? Hmmmm?
At least this one is on the road, people.

Someone at my work location has one here in Vermont has one. It is smaller than a Toyota Tacoma. It's...cute.

No serious truck person would buy one of these with a bed that small. This is a poser truck, and will sell to fraus.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | August 14, 2022 2:30 PM
|
That's what I noticed, r8. It has a very small truck bed. Still, I think this model is more of a proof-of-concept. Later models (2023? 2024?) will probably be more in line with other trucks on the road.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | August 14, 2022 2:33 PM
|
R8 are you serious? Million of people are clamoring for smaller trucks because they stopped making them. Rivian is the only company making trucks these size. GM, ford and Toyota all discontinued their smaller trucks.
Not everybody wants a huge monster truck.

Teslas are so basic now everybody has one. My pizza guy has one yesterday. They are the Kias of electric cars.
This truck is the real deal. It fucking glows at night. It’s beautiful.

Let’s be honest these are for tree-hugging hippie bros in Vermont and Dykes in blue states and cities.

I’ve seen a few Rivians, not sure if I have seen any E F150s since they look similar to the ICE model. If I had the money I would like a Rivian and Lucid in my garage. Tesla has grown a little long in the tooth, when they do a major refresh they could be on the wishlist again. I am just not a fan of the Big 3 electrics. I kind of like Polestar, but I think that desire will wither on the vine.

R11, don't participate in car talk if you don't know your facts. What is the 2022 Ford Maverick? Besides this small truck, Ford, GM and Toyota still have mid-size trucks (Ranger, Colorado/Canyon, Tacoma). Hyundai and Honda also have small pick-ups.
The Rivian does seem pretty amazing, although their SUV will end up being much more popular.

[quote]Not everybody wants a huge monster truck.
Which is exactly the point I made, R11. No one who actually uses a pickup for what it’s intended…hauling stuff, and work…will want this truck. It’s fluff. It’s frau. It’s gay boy trying to be butch. It’s still a beautiful design, but basically a toy

I think it's ugly. It looks like a toy.

R18 what are you talking about? The ranger and all small pickups have been discontinued for years. The ranger for a DECADE.
There have been 50 articles in the last two years about disappearing small trucks and NPR marketplace JUST did ANOTHER segment on disappearing small trucks.
Join us in 2022 in America where they aren’t any small trucks left on the market.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | August 16, 2022 4:37 PM

Really, the ranger?
That is the car they use in every one of those 50 articles where have you been?
The ford ranger is THE example of disappearing small trucks.
I just can’t get my head around why that example was used so confidently and boastfully as an example of small trucks that still exist when it’s the go-to example for the trend of disappearing small trucks.

OP - I would prefer a pic of the hottest looking blond stud/twink imaginable.

The hundai and ridge line and not really pickups, the maverick is much larger than the ranger was the rest you listed are not small pickups. Tacoma is not a small pick up so not sure why that was even listed. Even if a midsize that is not the what was discussed which was SMALL pickups.
They don’t exist in America anymore.

You're a fucking moron, R23. The Ranger nameplate was reintroduced in 2019 after being discontinued in the US in a decade ago.
The compact Ford Maverick truck is such a hit that [foolish, IMHO] customers are paying thousands of dollars over MSRP. It is based off the same platform as the Escape COMPACT utility vehicle.
True small trucks like the original Toyota Hi-Lux and Datsun pickup fell out of favor with US buyers.

Toyota donated to stop the steal, I wouldn’t go with them any longer, even after they said they ceased all donations. It’s still un-American what they did.

This Rivian starts at 68,000 dollars. Who would pay that much for this compact piece of shit?

Tesla will never call their truck “released." The deluded backers prefer it that way. They're happy buying into the vaporware demo, because it allows them to justify their macrotransactions.

The Ford Lightning is better and Ford knows trucks better than anyone. Plus, Ford is in a far better position financially

The pictures don’t do it justice.
You have to see it in person.
(Unlike the Tesla truck because it does not exist. And probably never will.)

Right, R46, because everyone knows that pictures of trucks are never realistic.
