Calm down, Ms. Dolezal

“Progressive” white gay men, ugh.

[quote]Sometimes I wish I was one.

That's what blackface is for, OP. Go nuts.

by Anonymousreply 3August 12, 2022 10:06 PM

Shouldn't that be, "Sometimes I wish I were one"?

by Anonymousreply 4August 12, 2022 10:12 PM

[quote]That's what blackface is for, OP. Go nuts.

I would bet my paycheck that “progressive” white gay men led the blackface charge back in the 20s. I just have a wild hunch.

It isn’t just older black women who are fabulous.

There's more to awesomeness than attitude, bad hats, victimization by family members and a resignation to other people frying the chicken.

by Anonymousreply 8August 12, 2022 11:03 PM

Oh, I thought you said odor black women.

But I'm white, anyway.

Yes, there’s sassiness.

by Anonymousreply 10August 12, 2022 11:06 PM

It's not too late to try OP, I hear there are surgeries and other things you can do to make it happen.

by Anonymousreply 11August 12, 2022 11:07 PM

The older black lady on a park bench always states the key plot element in any mystery movie.

by Anonymousreply 12August 12, 2022 11:09 PM

It would be fun to be Aunt Esther.

by Anonymousreply 13August 12, 2022 11:10 PM

OP are you articulate and often angry?

by Anonymousreply 14August 12, 2022 11:12 PM

I love Constance.

by Anonymousreply 15August 12, 2022 11:13 PM

Today I had to call my doctor's office for something and his ancient black southern secretary answered and at the end of the call she told me to make sure to bring a water bottle for when I come in for my visit "cause you know it's hotter than a you know what out there now!" It made me smile so much. I bet she's a great grandma.

by Anonymousreply 16August 12, 2022 11:14 PM

I'd like to try being a black woman for a day! It seems fun!

by Anonymousreply 17August 12, 2022 11:15 PM

That’s MISS Constance, didn’t your mama teach you manners?

by Anonymousreply 18August 12, 2022 11:15 PM

Ain't nobody 80 years old here!! LMAO!

by Anonymousreply 19August 12, 2022 11:28 PM

I hope the bitterness of an old black woman like Viola Davis is an exception.

by Anonymousreply 20August 13, 2022 4:05 AM

How cute, R19 is trying to sound young and better than everyone. Newsflash: saying "LMAO" is very 1997 so you must be ancient yourself.

by Anonymousreply 21August 13, 2022 5:36 AM

R19 are you okay? That's a direct quote from the woman in the video at OP when the young reporter called her almost 80 and she corrected her saying that.

by Anonymousreply 22August 14, 2022 2:17 AM

You know her cornbread dressing is fire.

I watched the World Track and Field Championships a couple of weeks ago, and one of the best moments was when they brought on Jackie Joyner-Kersee to talk about the American heptathlete who won the bronze medal. Jackie doesn't put on airs, and she is just the most positive, loving, kooky black grandma I wish I had.

by Anonymousreply 24August 14, 2022 3:17 AM

If you truly believe it, you can be anything you want, OP.
