Looks like an even uglier version of Detroit’s Renaissance Center.
Hudson Yards was like being at a well-architected and empty suburban mall last time I was there.

It's basically a giant money laundering operation for filthy rich foreign scumbags.

I can’t figure out where that photo was taken. I’ve never seen that cityscape.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | August 4, 2022 11:49 PM |
Which ugly building is it in the pic? Not from US

It literally says, “14th Street, Hoboken”, you blind bat.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | August 4, 2022 11:51 PM |
I don’t use Twitter. I thought that was the photographer’s business location. My eye sight is pretty bad, but if I were blind I wouldn’t be asking about a photo, would I?

Yes that is Hoboken at the northern end near Jersey City looking east from the viaduct. What are you talking about OP?
by Anonymous | reply 7 | August 4, 2022 11:58 PM |
Okay, I googled Hudson Yards, since I'm down under, and I totally agree with OP
Ugly ugly ugly ugly
Not sure if commissioned by Darth Vader or Kim Jong-un
I may never get to see this in person. I dont mind

You're out of the woods,
You're out of the dark,
You're out of the night!
Step into the sun,
Step into the light!

Skyscrapers have been ugly as shit for more than half a century. Have you seen London? Have you seen La Defense and Le Tour Montparnasse in Paris? Where have you been OP?

R10 = thinks name dropping “Le Tour Montparnasse” makes her the second coming of Edith Wharton.

Tech companies love Hudson Yards.
Facebook, Amazon, Apple, Google etc. They all have offices in Hudson Yards. It's where a lot of the high earning young people in NY work now.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | August 13, 2022 9:12 PM |
Except very few Manhattanite tech people work in offices.

R11 calls it the Parnassian Mountain Tower. Because she's Judith Kranz.

Hudson Yards is turning into New York's Canary Wharf
A sterile, isolated corporate ghetto

Hudson Tards

May I just say in defense of Hudson Yards, the suburban looking, ugly sterile shopping center there DOES HAVE THE CLEANEST RESTROOMS for the public to use.
Their security is brutal to keep out the homeless and they have a cleaning crew working nonstop.
So there is that.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | August 24, 2022 12:39 PM |
Who would set foot in a public restroom in NYC?
That’s some Aztec-level shit right there.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | August 24, 2022 1:41 PM |
Most people use public restrooms in NYC. If you're out and about for hours and hours at some point you'll have to piss.

I will happily purchase an item in a cafe in order to use their bathroom.
