What are some TV or movie plot turns or twists that really really surprised you? Did you like what the writers did? I was shocked on Buffy when Tara was killed.

The finale of Stephen King's THE MIST.
I felt really gutted/queasy afterward,
And it haunted me for several days.

When John Locke wheeled away from Outback Adventure the desk in Lost and yelled to the guide, “don’t tell me what I can’t do!” We had seen him walking around on the island and didn’t know he had been using a wheelchair before the crash. The island had healed him.
That’s one of my favorite “oh shit!” moments ever. I think it’s even better than the flash foward in season three finale.

Gus Fring getting half his fucking face blown off. I watched that on TV the night it aired and I still remember how shocking it was. I'm glad I saw it.

The Good Place where we find out they’re actually in the bad place; I genuinely hadn’t twigged and it was especially shocking realising that Ted Danson’s character was actually a demon.
