Truman Capote on Stanley Siegel. He appeared at 10am in the morning after a night of heavy drugging. He speech was slow and slurred, and he was sweating profusely.
Howard Stern on what was Joan Rivers' FOX show, that was taken over by Aresnio Hall. Stern said, live on air "Quite frankly, I think Fox executive are responsible for Edgar Rosenberg's death!" I was so mortified as a 17 year old watching at home that I literally had to change the channel. It was edited out of the west coast feed. You can SEE the air being sucked out of the room. At the 4 minute mark.

In the very early years of his show, David Letterman had Nastasia Kinski in tears mocking her hairstyle. It had waves in it and stood straight up on her head about five inches. Something you'd expect to see in a fashion photo shoot. He started out by asking "Is that a barn owl on your head?" When she looked upset by the comment, he just kept digging in. She was holding back tears. It was very uncomfortable. I can't remember how it unfolded. I may have stopped watching.

[quote]I hated it when Dan Crenshaw went on SN.... I thought it made him look like a dour, humorless turd and I'm surprised his people didn't talk him out of it. Something about going on a TV show to accept an apology just rubs me the wrong way.
It was Crenshaw and his staff making the demand to be on the show for an apology. So it didn't MAKE him look like anything he wasn't already.
And now the fact that rightwingers like Tucker Carlson are referring to Crenshaw, harassingly, as "Eye Patch McCain" because he doesn't show 100% fealty to the Trumpverse is quite satisfying, imo.
For anyone who doesn't know, Davidson's joke was "You may be surprised to learn he's a Congressional candidate from Texas... and not a hit man in a porno movie." It's :57 seconds in the vid below. The bit was Davidson making fun of several politicians from both parties but because Crenshaw lost in eye in "war" I guess he was supposed to be off limits ---- UNTIL Tucker Carlson et el decided to go after him.
It's a pretty funny bit imo - tho I Pete does flub a bit too much but whatever. It's also just after the break up with Ariana Grande, which he addresses at the end if you care.

R39, that interview is on YouTube. I also saw it when it first aired. Kinski seems shy and ill at ease and not used to being interviewed, but she doesn’t appear to be upset. She clearly doesn’t get Letterman’s trademark snarky style and doesn’t know how to respond to him. Her hair had been styled In that peculiar upside-down fashion for a photo shoot with Interview magazine beforehand, and Letterman being Letterman just couldn’t resist making fun of it. Having watched the segment again after many years it was not as big a train wreck as I remembered it.

James Brown was either high, drunk, or both in this interview. Kudos to the interviewer -- she rolled with the punches of his craziness superbly.

Jerry Lewis acting like an ass during this interview. According to The Hollywood Reporter, though:
[Quote]Throughout the photo shoot, Lewis complained about the amount of equipment in the house, the number of assistants and how the shots were set up. By the time we sat down for the interview about an hour later, Lewis had worked up a full head of steam, and it seemed like he was punishing THR by doing the interview but being as uncooperative as possible.

Irrefutable proof that flies simply cannot resist shit. If the 2020 election was “stolen” from anyone, it was this fly. This fly told us all what Mike Pence refuses to accept: that he will never be President.

Marilyn Monroe's happy birthday JFK moment. I know people call it iconic but I just see is a woman who's on something and desparately seeking validation from a married man. But since she LOOKED so beautiful people overlooked how unwell she was.

R81 Will's Oscar acceptance was the worst part. Made an ass of himself and you could tell he couldn't think straight, dragged on forever. I cannot remember something being so cringey that they had to cut the footage from him.

Also the Moonlight/La La Land mixup speaking of the Oscars. I felt bad for Warren Beatty that he got the brunt of the blame at first. Wasn't his fault at all, it was that accountancy firm who mixed up the cards.

R221 It's MacArthur and he was meeting Emperor Hirohito, who ruled until 1989. Hirohito never retired.

Japan has been a constitutional monarchy post-WWII, with a parliamentary system of government based on the separation of powers.
The Emperor is the symbol of the state and does not hold political functions, only performing ceremonial duties.
Prior to 1945, Hirohito was revered as a god.
I think that McArthur photo was to prove to his people that he was a mere, little mortal.
