New MAGA King?
DeSantis Beating Trump in New Hampshire Poll of GOP Voters
|by Anonymous||reply 87||June 30, 2022 10:25 PM|
You know who is going to shit his diaper.
|by Anonymous||reply 1||June 22, 2022 9:55 PM|
The next generation steps forward. How is that permitted?
|by Anonymous||reply 2||June 22, 2022 9:55 PM|
I guess the silver lining is that it will signal other Republicans that it's OK to ignore or defy Trump. Is DeSantis less prone to such egregious lying or insulting opponents like Trump? That alone would be an improvement.
It's amazing how his political fortunes have skyrocketed after winning by a hair. Was it his Covid defiance alone that did it? Does he ever pause to wonder if the highest death rate in the nation (even with his underreporting and fudged stats) was worth it?
WTF has happened to America? These people believe negligent homicide on a mass scale is a good thing.
|by Anonymous||reply 3||June 22, 2022 10:16 PM|
[quote]Does he ever pause to wonder if the highest death rate in the nation
I'm betting that's true irrespective of COVID.
|by Anonymous||reply 4||June 22, 2022 10:19 PM|
Unfortunately, I feel like Trump is the lesser of two evils. DeSantis is dangerous. Buckle up gals.
|by Anonymous||reply 5||June 22, 2022 10:22 PM|
Why is DeSantis worse than Dump? Pls explain.
|by Anonymous||reply 6||June 22, 2022 10:23 PM|
DeSantis isn't a moron and actually believes in the crap he pushes. Trump has zero actually beliefs in anything he says or does. DeSantis is also disciplined so he won't say stupid crap to turn off suburban republicans, also probably wouldn't attack other republicans in the house/senate. Basically a smarter Trump, which makes him a lot more dangerous. Just think of the crap Trump was able to pull while being a complete manchild idiot. Fear for the future if a smart Trump-like Republican ever wins.
|by Anonymous||reply 7||June 22, 2022 10:28 PM|
[quote]also probably wouldn't attack other republicans in the house/senate.
Well as long as he doesn't raise a mob to attack the house/senate, I'm thinking it's an improvement.
|by Anonymous||reply 8||June 22, 2022 10:30 PM|
He'd just be smarter about staging a coup than Trump, not that he wouldn't do it.
|by Anonymous||reply 9||June 22, 2022 10:32 PM|
What makes you think DeSantis is a wannabe dictator?
Dump has proven he is.
|by Anonymous||reply 10||June 22, 2022 10:36 PM|
There's a very good article on the rise of DeSantis and his shenanigans since 2018 in the latest New Yorker. Very eye opening.
|by Anonymous||reply 11||June 22, 2022 10:40 PM|
[quote]DeSantis isn't a moron and actually believes in the crap he pushes.
Does he really or is it just expedient?
|by Anonymous||reply 12||June 22, 2022 10:41 PM|
DeSantis is pure evil and nasty bully. Trump is no better but DeSantis is on another level.
|by Anonymous||reply 13||June 22, 2022 10:43 PM|
Ron DeSatanist is the big fat Devil. :-/
|by Anonymous||reply 14||June 22, 2022 10:44 PM|
Give REASONS bitches. Repeating it is not enough.
|by Anonymous||reply 15||June 22, 2022 10:46 PM|
I think DeSatan does believe in all of the MAGA shit. After all, he dressed his toddler in a Trump onesie. And believing in the MAGA nonsense means that you aren't really all that smart. I'm tired of people saying how smart this asshole is because he went to Yale and Harvard.
|by Anonymous||reply 16||June 22, 2022 10:47 PM|
He’s going to be our first WOPresident.
|by Anonymous||reply 17||June 22, 2022 10:48 PM|
R10, are you brain dead? Have you not see the bills he’s pushing? What he’s doing to Disney? What he did during the pandemic? Go kill yourself and do the world a favor. Jackass.
|by Anonymous||reply 18||June 22, 2022 10:49 PM|
[quote] DeSantis isn't a moron and actually believes in the crap he pushes.
The crap he pushes is mostly stuff HIS DONORS financially benefit from.
|by Anonymous||reply 19||June 22, 2022 10:54 PM|
Take a Klonopin, R18. I know about Disney, which apparently he lacks the power to get done.
Do you think he was wrong on COVID? Do you think he's wrong on trans? What bills is he pushing, specifically, that so offend you?
|by Anonymous||reply 20||June 22, 2022 10:54 PM|
I would love it if De Satan won the nomination and Trump then ran as an independent out of sheer spite. He would take enough votes that Biden or whoever replaced him would be likely to win.
|by Anonymous||reply 21||June 22, 2022 10:55 PM|
[quote]Take a Klonopin, [R18]. I know about Disney, which apparently he lacks the power to get done.
That doesn’t matter. The very fact that he’s pushing to do that is fascism. Wake the fuck up.

This is the dude who wants gay shit banned.

Well so does DL's Maiden Aunt Brigade.
|by Anonymous||reply 24||June 22, 2022 11:01 PM|
Good thing I'm not a homo for when De Santis bans the gay shit!
|by Anonymous||reply 25||June 22, 2022 11:03 PM|
Trump has the Qanon crazies and toothless hillbilly vote, DeSantis really is getting all the other Republicans lining up behind him. They want rid of Trump and want to win. Trump's a loser. Once he wins the primaries DeSantis will pick up the hillbillies. He's Reagan redux to Biden's Carter.
He's not a fascist however.
|by Anonymous||reply 26||June 22, 2022 11:03 PM|
The New Yorker profile paints DeSantis as brilliant, repellent and cold. He lacks warmth and has no time for social niceties, etiquette or empathy. I don't think he is Reagan redux for that reason. Although his relationships are transactional, like Trump's, he apparently doesn't share Trump's desperate need for approval or affection. I think he will win the nomination and unless his personality turns enough people off, he will win the presidency.
|by Anonymous||reply 27||June 22, 2022 11:06 PM|
I meant he's Reagan Redux in that it's likely he'll become another hero in Republican eyes. Winning two terms, and producing a "revolution" in economic and social polices.
|by Anonymous||reply 28||June 22, 2022 11:12 PM|
Republicans are moving on. Democrats are frozen in amber at November 8, 2016.
And you call republicans stupid?
|by Anonymous||reply 29||June 22, 2022 11:31 PM|
That is why so many Trump loyalists all of a sudden turn on him, because they want the Deplorables to rally behind DeSantis. I hope Trump will sabotage the GOP's efforts for the midterms and the presidential election in 2024.
|by Anonymous||reply 30||June 22, 2022 11:36 PM|
DeSantis is not worse than Trump. Only a Trump apologist would say that. DeSantis is closer to Mitch McConnell: he seems scary and freakish because you rarely see openly intelligent Republican politicians. He believes in awful policies, but they all do, they’re Republicans. Trump did not have policy goals. He didn’t care about government. He just wanted to destroy everything.
|by Anonymous||reply 31||June 22, 2022 11:47 PM|

[quote]I think he will win the nomination and unless his personality turns enough people off, he will win the presidency.
If that were t happen the MAGAT crowd wouldn't vote for him as they would consider him to be a traitor. They would vote for Trump if he ran as an independent, write him in if he didn't, or just not vote for DeSantis. They are full on ride or die for Trump.
|by Anonymous||reply 33||June 23, 2022 12:06 AM|

He's already being groomed to smooth his rough edges and to fake compassion like an Oscar winning actor.

|by Anonymous||reply 34||June 23, 2022 12:21 AM|
I’m not sure who’s more vile.
|by Anonymous||reply 35||June 23, 2022 12:23 AM|
No one's personality was more of a turn off than Trump's. And he won anyway. 2024 won't be a personality contest.
|by Anonymous||reply 36||June 23, 2022 12:24 AM|
Can anyone see any scenario whatsoever in which Trump will accept defeat gracefully and hand over his MAGA movement to DeSantis?
He’ll create hell. His only real loyalty is to his own ego. Wait until he gives DeSantis the full name-calling, crude-insult treatment. His acolytes will eat it up.
At this stage, Trump’s ego might be the Democrat’s greatest asset.
|by Anonymous||reply 37||June 23, 2022 12:29 AM|
Does Ronnie do anal?
|by Anonymous||reply 38||June 23, 2022 12:43 AM|
[quote] Does Ronnie do anal?
Yes, if it will give him some bonus points in culture wars.
|by Anonymous||reply 39||June 23, 2022 12:47 AM|
DeSantis reminds me of Canada’s Ford brothers. Populist, and not overly bright. Thinks common sense is all you need, and his is the commonest.
|by Anonymous||reply 40||June 23, 2022 12:47 AM|
Thing is, the person who leads the polls years and months out before the actual primaries almost always never wins. DeSantis could be the new Jeb.
|by Anonymous||reply 41||June 23, 2022 12:48 AM|
One poll in New Hampshire means nothing - we need to see a slew of polls to see there is a trend
|by Anonymous||reply 42||June 23, 2022 12:50 AM|
A recent poll has Charlene Crist beating Desantis by 1% in the gubernatorial race.
Ron is not a charmer, I’m telling ya. He only does so well because there are a ton of old white fuckers in Florida, and he killed off a serious chunk of them during Covid.
|by Anonymous||reply 43||June 23, 2022 1:12 AM|
Repigs sure like them fat and ugly

|by Anonymous||reply 45||June 23, 2022 1:20 AM|
I’m a Floridian and think Ron Desantis presents the best chance for the GOP to win the White House.
Ron is smart, cold and calculating, despite the reports he does posses some charisma but not the typical politician type that’s slimy and overly nice.
I truly fear that he could win, he is ruthless and digs in for the kill like a pit bull.
Trump is an idiot that coasts by on his perceived wealth, it’s his business man persona that people like because they think he is a smart self made millionaire. But Trump is stupid and easily swayed which makes him less dangerous than Ron who still has some youthful looks to plaster on billboards and sell the old elephants a dream.

Meanwhile, the trials and tribulations of the man who almost beat DeSantis four years ago continue. Fresh from his being found drugged out naked with a male escort, Andrew Gillum is now about to be indicted for fraud.
|by Anonymous||reply 47||June 23, 2022 2:07 AM|
R47 Fatsantis hired a voodoo witch to put a curse on the closet case Gillom.
|by Anonymous||reply 48||June 23, 2022 2:09 AM|
The only difference between him and Ted Cruz is that DeSantis is not a booger eater (that we know of.)
|by Anonymous||reply 49||June 23, 2022 2:21 AM|
|by Anonymous||reply 50||June 23, 2022 3:34 AM|
The primaries in 2024 will be the hardest part for DeSantis, and then it will be smooth sailing for him in the general.
|by Anonymous||reply 51||June 23, 2022 4:06 AM|
They'll run together. I already have my Trump/DeSantis 2024 flag!
|by Anonymous||reply 52||June 23, 2022 4:07 AM|
Ron De Santis has anal warts!
|by Anonymous||reply 53||June 23, 2022 5:19 AM|
[QUOTE] Ron is not a charmer, I’m telling ya. He only does so well because there are a ton of old white fuckers in Florida, and he killed off a serious chunk of them during Covid.
Yeah, it remains to be seen how he’ll look on a debate stage with 10 or more other candidates.
|by Anonymous||reply 54||June 23, 2022 10:32 AM|
R47, on another thread someone opined DeSantis was behind it. It's a federal investigation by a Democratic Party run Justice Department.
Both parties are corrupt but the Democrats seem stupid as well.
|by Anonymous||reply 55||June 23, 2022 10:58 AM|
He looks like he eats everything else, R49.
|by Anonymous||reply 56||June 23, 2022 11:27 AM|
[QUOTE] It's a federal investigation by a Democratic Party run Justice Department.
A Democrat in the White House says nothing about the makeup of the Justice Department, R55. Law enforcement is filled with rightwing lunatics, especially the FBI. The Florida FBI is teeming with Trump/DeSantis supporters, just like the New York FBI was rampant with Giuliani supporters.
|by Anonymous||reply 57||June 23, 2022 12:01 PM|
We want to have Ron's baby!!!
|by Anonymous||reply 58||June 23, 2022 12:12 PM|
Which is worse to be honest? Trump hasn’t declared war on homosexuality like DeSantis has. I’m no fan of the orange one but DeSantis seems truly hell bent on his conservative agenda. Trump used the wean minded right wing conservatives and militia groups to his advantage but DeSantis seems to truly believe their musings. The whole lot of them can catch Covid and suffer with the “fake virus” they claim isn’t real. No hospitals or help for them, let them choke on their own lies as they pass away.
|by Anonymous||reply 59||June 23, 2022 12:30 PM|
[quote] Which is worse to be honest?
They are both terrible, making the Dem nominee look a million times more qualified.
|by Anonymous||reply 60||June 23, 2022 12:36 PM|
Trump will not slink off quietly.
1. Trump loses in a bitter contest, refuses to back DeSantis and his base sits the election out. Remember that many of his supporters never voted previously, or, if they did vote, actually voted for Democrats in the past. They like Trump, not the GOP
2. Trump's advisors somehow convince him not to run again and to hand the crown to DeSantis. But like all retired autocrats, Trump can't stand to see DerSantis get all the attention so undercuts him at every opportunity and his endorsement is lukewarm at best, which also leads Deplorables to sit this one out
It's also possible the DeSantis, who is politically savvy. tacks back to center once he's secured the GOP nomination. Whether he actually governs as a centrist is another story though....
|by Anonymous||reply 61||June 23, 2022 12:38 PM|
I don’t think DeSantis can win a national election. The last thing he and his operations need is more attention. He’s like Trump without the supposed charisma.
|by Anonymous||reply 62||June 23, 2022 12:40 PM|
If you don't think DeSantis can win a national election, then you haven't been paying attention to anything.
|by Anonymous||reply 63||June 23, 2022 12:43 PM|
DeSantis' stunts make him very unpopular in other states. The presidential popular vote will keep remaining in the Dem candidates' favor. But then the GOP only focus on the electoral college to win.

Satan himself would not be worst than Trump.
As Churchill put it "If Hitler invaded hell I would make at least a favorable reference to the devil in the House of Commons."
|by Anonymous||reply 66||June 23, 2022 1:01 PM|
No one is more pathetic than Gillum/Gollem. Talk about a ruined opportunity....
|by Anonymous||reply 67||June 23, 2022 1:02 PM|
Ron's muscular physique will bring in female and gay voters. Plus, he has better hair.
|by Anonymous||reply 68||June 23, 2022 1:18 PM|
"He's already being groomed to smooth his rough edges and to fake compassion like an Oscar winning actor."
Yeah, that won't work. You can't fake that shit unless you have some degree of facile charm, like George "I wanna have a beer with him" W Bush.
That said, his lack of personality won't hinder his chances one bit. People will see DeSantis as The Terminator. Cold, calculating, brutally efficient and 100% focused on his agenda. MAGA crazies will love that shit and neatly fall in line once his momentum really gets going.
And I feel horrible for Biden, who I truly think is a good man at heart who want's the best for this country. DeSantis will demolish him in the debates. He's whip smart on his feet and can flip any argument against him in his favor. I've been following his trajectory (in horror) for awhile--but seriously, read The New Yorker article to see what I'm talking about here. The man is awful. But sadly, talented.
The only spoiler I can see is if, like someone else mentioned, Trump decides to run as an independent and wreak chaos. Perhaps then we can squeak by. I'm not optimistic though.
|by Anonymous||reply 69||June 23, 2022 1:20 PM|
"Ron's muscular physique will bring in female and gay voters. "
Hahahahaha. You do know he's totally fat now, right?
|by Anonymous||reply 70||June 23, 2022 1:22 PM|
Ron will never live down the clip where he berates school children for wearing masks, ruining his PR stunt.
He's a loser who thinks CRT matters more than keeping children safe from mass shooters.
|by Anonymous||reply 71||June 23, 2022 1:41 PM|
^ hate to break it to you but a lot of people do not see that as berating. They supported it.
Out of touch, out of touch, out of touch.
|by Anonymous||reply 72||June 23, 2022 1:54 PM|
r72. Republicans supported it. There are way more Liberals in the US. We just have to vote more strategically and even with cheating and gerrymandering, the Republicans would not win then.

Why Ron DeSantis Can Beat Trump in 2024
|by Anonymous||reply 80||June 24, 2022 7:40 AM|
GOP has no fucking morals. This man has done nothing but mad fake bills and tried to get things banned.
|by Anonymous||reply 81||June 24, 2022 7:43 AM|
[quote]Meanwhile, the trials and tribulations of the man who almost beat DeSantis four years ago continue. Fresh from his being found drugged out naked with a male escort, Andrew Gillum is now about to be indicted for fraud.
The Democrats need to stop promoting such shit candidates.
|by Anonymous||reply 82||June 24, 2022 7:29 PM|
Desantis didn’t even beat Gillum in those debates. Gillum had all the sassy comebacks that the media ran with after.
The old fucks in Florida will crawl over glass to vote Republican, is the problem.
|by Anonymous||reply 83||June 30, 2022 9:42 PM|
He wouldn't even wear a mask while his wife was on chemo. He'd rather have motherless toddlers than look like a lib. Fuck that fat bitch

|by Anonymous||reply 85||June 30, 2022 9:54 PM|

|by Anonymous||reply 86||June 30, 2022 10:18 PM|
The funny thing is Trump already had his time at bat and is history but democrats are still refighting the last two wars instead of the next one.
