I mean, with1001 different seasons and franchises you really can't expect a 60+ person to have a personal relationship with all of them.
Why does Rupaul get such a bad reputation for being impersonal to the Drag Race contestants?

RuPaul is just there for the paycheck. She doesn't care about anyone.

He’s known to be a bitch that doesn’t care about anyone but himself.

Ru Paul makes the ultimate decision about who will win the competition. Any fraternizing with the contestants could be construed by outsiders as cheating, or rigging the game.
I don't know why people have such a hard time with this simple concept.

It’s not about having a personal connection. Not remembering the name of the person you are standing next to is unprofessional. Couldn’t even do a Miranda Priestly and have an assistant feed it to his ear.

He's notoriously self-centered and admits it himself. He and Michelle Visage have been friends and co-workers for over 30 years and he still hasn't bothered to learn the names of her children.

Ru has an Oprah complex. He’s a phony baloney and pushed that whole a tranny threw the first brick at Stonewall bs which led to where we are now - an entire generation of gays brainwashed. His brand of drag is looking like a real woman, boy a drag queen. He’s pushing transitioning.

Most of the drag queens I have encountered are extremely self-centered and needy. Not all, but most.

I worked in a gay bar in college, around 2001. Ru was at a low point in fame and was touring small town gay bars for quick cash. However, he had several demands for performing, so for about a week prior his show, the whole staff worked together to clean, repair, stick, and get the dressing rooms up to snuff. Fast forward to the night of the performance and he skates in, lipsyncs for maybe three songs (but that might be generous), and then skates right out the door through which he came. Never stepped foot anywhere else in the club, including the dressing rooms. I was skeptical that it was really even him and not an impersonator.

NOBODY who isn't "incredibly self-centered" succeeds in show biz, doll.
RuPaul created from scratch not only a successful drag recording/singing/performing career for himself without a fucking blueprint, but also a wildly successful drag tv competition show that is enjoyed worldwide with huge ancillary live tours and drag conventions bringing fun and wild creativity to the masses. This was not accomplished by being warm, cuddly and worrying about being well-liked.
Just ask Oprah.

R10 nails it. IT"S FUCKING BUSINESS.
If you're in SHOW BUSINESS (or any business, for that matter) looking for warm and fuzzy, you're going to be a bitterly disappointed queen, a la R5.
