Justin Timberlake replacing Hugh Jackman in The Music Man?

Hugh’s quote: “it'd be my pleasure to open anything for Justin Timberlake.”

But what would Deborah-Lee say?

Isn't JT too short to play Harold Hill?

by Anonymousreply 1May 18, 2022 10:10 PM

I think he’d be great.

by Anonymousreply 2May 18, 2022 10:35 PM

He'd be better cast as Alma Hix, or as Ethel Toffelmeier (the pianola girl).

I think he'd be great. Bringing sexy 76 trombones back.

by Anonymousreply 5May 18, 2022 10:45 PM

The only thing he’ll open for JT is his ass and/or mouth.

Over my cold dead body!

Why is Hugh leaving?

Standing room prices will drop

Is Sutton opening for Jessica?

by Anonymousreply 10May 18, 2022 11:04 PM

Despite lousy reviews their brining is $3.5 million a week.

by Anonymousreply 11May 18, 2022 11:29 PM

Do celebrities ask publications to use younger pics of them? Because that photo is from like 2007.

by Anonymousreply 12May 18, 2022 11:40 PM

He’s really talented, actually. I think he’d be a really good replacement. I’d fuck him…er, I mean, I’d buy a ticket.

by Anonymousreply 13May 19, 2022 12:11 AM

I can’t see Hugh leaving before early next year. Maybe Justin can fill in during his vacation.

“Ladies and gentlemen, for tonight’s performance, Harold Hill will be played by Justin Timberlake.”

My slight white:

not a Lancelot, more a gecko who pings.

by Anonymousreply 15May 19, 2022 12:54 AM

Justin should join Jesse Williams and get naked on stage.

by Anonymousreply 16May 19, 2022 12:55 AM

I feel like Jason Sudeikis would have made a terrific Harold Hill - better than Jackman.

by Anonymousreply 17May 19, 2022 12:57 AM

R17, can Jason sing?

by Anonymousreply 18May 19, 2022 1:01 AM

R13, I agree.

Another white man? Why are there never opportunities for black people on Broadway?

by Anonymousreply 20May 19, 2022 3:44 AM

Andrew Garfield would have been a great replacement for Jackman, especially since he wants to take a break from Hollywood.

Norm Lewis played him in DC not too long ago.

Jackman and his producers have issued a statement denying that Timberlake will replace him after he leaves.

by Anonymousreply 23May 21, 2022 1:07 AM

I’d rather see ‘Stop the Planet of the Apes—I Want to Get Off!’

by Anonymousreply 24May 21, 2022 3:36 AM

Lizzo has been cast to play Marian.

by Anonymousreply 25May 21, 2022 11:22 AM

He wanted Robbie Williams to take over as Peter Allen. That didn’t happen, either.

by Anonymousreply 26May 21, 2022 11:27 AM

I know he is kinda obnoxious but Timberlake is a born performer. There aren't that many left who have high-energy and put on a show. Timberlake, Usher, Robbie Williams and Bruno Mars are the few I can think of who are still around.

R28 True that era peaked in the 70s and 80s with the likes of Elton, Bowie, Bolan, Prince, Freddie, MJ, Bobby Brown and George Michael. Usher and JT's initial appeal in the late 90s and early 2000swas they could sing and dance live as a throwback to that 80s era. Chris Brown had potential but he can't sing and also is a violent junkie thug. While Bieber just sucks.
