On the other hand, if they get the tone right (more Shazam than Justice League), I could see it being a lot of fun with potential sequels. Too bad James Gunn isn’t behind this one.

The Wonder Twins were younger teen heroes based off of Donnie & Marie for a younger demo than Robin brought to the Super Friends series (their powers to become any form of water for Zan & any animal for Jayna was to increase story ideas for Aquaman who spent plenty of time in water, could communicate with water related animals & who needed to be in contact to H2O every hour or he'd slip into a coma & die which was never mentioned in the morning kids cartoon).

Although aliens in nature they mostly resembled Asians in comics & tv shows. KJ is part Asian but looks nothing like Zan (& looks too old for someone who is younger than TEEN Titan Robin) & the mystery girl for Jayne also looks nothing like her. I guess she is a name somewhere but I don't know her. These casting decisions are puzzling based on age & race to me.

^ I forgot to mention that they also don't look like they're related so they have that working against them as well.

Hopefully one of KJ's powers is purchasing a grooming tool to trim those caterpillar eyebrows. I know from several sources that he's always hated the faux red hair dye for Archie (and the damage to his hair), so he'll lose that stat.

I always found the Wonder Twins to be stupid characters as a kid. I love when they're parodied though like in Family Guy and Robot Chicken. I hope this movie is more in line with classic comic book campiness and Super Friends. DC goes too much on the edginess at times.

These two actors not only do not look related but look nothing close to the comic book characters. But DC is always weird with their casting and I don't know why people expect so much from DC anymore.

KJ is of mixed ancestry but he gets cast as white because he looks white. That's how it works, you look the part you get it. Though they should have cast a real freckled pale-skinned ginger actor for Archie Andrews. I always thought it was weird how actual gingers are underrepresented in the media. Many actors who aren't redheads will dye their hair and it almost always look fake. Redheads are just way too distinctive looking.

I thought they were Asian as well. Didn’t even realize they are aliens. And turning into water is a stupid super power. My only memory of them was her as an eagle having to carry him (as water) in a bucket. Even at 6 yo, I thought “man, what lame powers”.

There's no shortage of goodlooking redheads. I just googled "redhead male model" and this dude popped up. Though Archie is not supposed to be handsome, he's based off of Mickey Rooney's dorky all-American good boy and the joke is two hot girls out of his league lust after him. KJ works for Riverdale I guess as it really has nothing to do with the comics anyway.
