BREAKING: Louie Anderson in Hospital with Blood Cancer

He’s a goner.

Oh, no. I've always found him to be hilarious, but in a brief appearance on Search Party a few years ago, you could tell he was in poor health.

by Anonymousreply 1January 19, 2022 10:36 AM

I hope not. I just binged the last seasons of Baskets, strictly to see him and I was delighted to see he was now the main character

by Anonymousreply 2January 19, 2022 10:38 AM

That's not good. Once it's in your blood, it's all through your body, or will be. I am guessing a blood transfusion wont even work at that point.

by Anonymousreply 3January 19, 2022 10:45 AM

I always thought he was the poor man's John Candy.

by Anonymousreply 4January 19, 2022 10:58 AM

I hope they shot some new Baskets episodes with Louie’s Christine.

It will be poignant watching the two brothers deal with her death.

Aww Louie 😔

by Anonymousreply 5January 19, 2022 11:04 AM

Awful news. Everyone send him love and positive energy into the universe.

by Anonymousreply 6January 19, 2022 11:07 AM

I loved Baskets and Louie Anderson and Christine UNTIL she became the center of the show r2. Gave it up after of a few of those episodes.

by Anonymousreply 7January 19, 2022 11:10 AM

I always liked him, seemed like a nice guy under that exterior.

by Anonymousreply 8January 19, 2022 11:21 AM

No. Oh no nononono. Louie as Christine Baskets is brilliant. I don’t know how you can bring that character to life if you don’t have warmth and love in you.

by Anonymousreply 9January 19, 2022 11:39 AM

This is terrible news. I fell in love with Louie as Christine and wish him the best.

by Anonymousreply 10January 19, 2022 12:25 PM

His cartoon was great too. Is that streaming anywhere?

by Anonymousreply 11January 19, 2022 1:16 PM

[Quote]while the cancer is aggressive, it’s potentially curable.

There's hope then.

by Anonymousreply 12January 19, 2022 1:20 PM

My favorite Christine Baskets quote:

"Jobs are supposed to be hard! That's. Why. They're. Called. Jobs."

by Anonymousreply 13January 19, 2022 2:29 PM

He was just getting his health together too and working on the binge eating

by Anonymousreply 14January 19, 2022 4:32 PM

2022 seems to be on a celebrity rampage.

by Anonymousreply 15January 19, 2022 4:46 PM

L.A. is a great game show host as well...

by Anonymousreply 16January 19, 2022 4:57 PM

He was! I started watching Family Feud again when he hosted. Why did they fire him? Or hopefully he quit

While we hear about celebrities, I think 2022 is going to be particularly brutal for heart disease, cancer, and other potentially fatal ailments that require early detection. COVID patients forced doctors/hospitals to cancel, postpone, and discourage non-emergency medical procedures. Now people who would've been helped during regularly scheduled checkups/procedures in 2020 and 2021 are dealing with the consequences.

by Anonymousreply 19January 19, 2022 5:58 PM

Isn’t blood cancer leukemia? Oddly I think it’s not one of the most deadly cancers - like pancreatic or liver.

by Anonymousreply 20January 19, 2022 6:06 PM

R20 Leukemia is blood cancer, but not all blood cancers are leukemia. There is also lymphoma and myeloma.

by Anonymousreply 21January 19, 2022 6:19 PM

65% 5 year survival - so far from a death sentence if not good news.

by Anonymousreply 22January 19, 2022 6:34 PM

The 'old people' leukemia?

by Anonymousreply 23January 19, 2022 6:38 PM

.........

by Anonymousreply 24January 21, 2022 5:20 PM

[quote] Once it's in your blood, it's all through your body

R3 Not true. Some types of lymphoma are very responsive to treatment and have a high cure rate. Others not so much, unortunately.

by Anonymousreply 25January 21, 2022 5:27 PM

Wow 2020 has been a bitch so far. So many people have died already

by Anonymousreply 26January 21, 2022 5:31 PM

"65% 5 year survival - so far from a death sentence if not good news. '

It depends on the current stage. If it's stage 4 he probably has weeks instead of months.

RIP
