Gurls, and we have another biopic… Daniel Radcliffe to Play “Weird Al” Yankovic in Biopic

Daniel isn't ugly enough.

Oh God. The "gurl" troll is back doing everything it can to make us all call each other "gurls."
Go away.

Weird Al's like 6 feet tall and Daniel's a munchkin.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | January 18, 2022 2:26 PM |
That is so laugh out loud random. Thank you, OP.
But then, Daniel is no stranger to weird roles, like playing a multi functional dead corpse in Swiss Army Man.

Bad choice. Jesse Eisenberg would have been much better.

R2 is TRIGGERED.

Roku Channel, lol

Daniel's too short and too hot! But it could be interesting.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | January 18, 2022 2:34 PM |
Weird Al Yankovic is like a 21st century version of Tiny Tim.

It's easier to make short actors look tall than vice versa. And easier to make an attractive person ugly than vice versa.

God, Daniel and his acting by numbers.

This is a biopic that is screaming not to be made. What would it be - just a series of copies of the original videos (most of which parody artists no one remembers).

As long as they make him look a little goofy and give him the hair, I don’t think this is a case where the disparities in appearance will be distracting.
Weird Al is only 6’ feet, so his height isn’t defining. I thought he was taller, but may have been conflating him with Howard Stern.

Exactly. This is Hollywood, this is what they do: cast conventionally good looking people to play "real" people. No one wants to spend two hours watching a dead ringer of Yankovic, especially one who was cast for looks and not talent.
Given that, this is actually good casting. Radcliff is a good actor and with the right hair, makeup and wardrobe, he can nail this.

R14- A PERFECT example of this is The Queen on Netflix. ALL of the actors/actresses playing the Royal family whether in the 1950's , 1960's, 1970's or the 1980's were FAR more attractive than the real versions of them.

Is Al dead?
by Anonymous | reply 16 | January 18, 2022 6:30 PM |
This is very random, but then so is Weird Al.

R5 Jesse Eisenberg has zero charisma. He is the antithesis of Weird Al.

I was hoping his “Ricky” would show up during the closing credits of We Were The Ricardos.

Forgetting Danny for a moment, how is Weird Al significant enough to have a biopic?
by Anonymous | reply 20 | January 19, 2022 1:28 AM |
It's on the Roku TV service R20. It can't be that hard to get one.

Did DanRad ever stop drinking? Does he still have his Harry Potter money?

I think this is less a case of "this life was significant," R20, than "this will be great as a movie." Think about it, it's a story that intersects with a lot of actually significant artists. In the right hands, Yankovic could be a Gump-esque figure with all these unlikely cameos from much bigger artists and stars that he parodied. He's also grown in popularity, especially with younger generations. This could be huge.

I love D-Rad and I love Weird Al. This is brilliant casting!

Glad it's a satire of a biography and not serious
