Did you get snowed on?

Big storm in many places. We're under a blizzard warning in Toronto and 12"-20" expected by the time it ends this afternoon. First big snow of the winter. The dog couldn't figure out where to pee the snow was so high in the back yard.

by Anonymousreply 28January 18, 2022 5:24 PM

OP- I'm just north of NYC and we got rained on. I would have preferred an all snow event. We did get five inches of snow a week ago Thursday into Friday but that melted away.

by Anonymousreply 1January 17, 2022 12:56 PM

Snow and now (as I look outside) what appears to be freezing rain

by Anonymousreply 2January 17, 2022 12:59 PM

Philly got a little snow but rain and temps up to 50 last night washed it all away

by Anonymousreply 3January 17, 2022 1:03 PM

last night we had barely an inch, very pretty. then it started to rain, and rained through the night. nothing left today

by Anonymousreply 4January 17, 2022 1:06 PM

I don't get why people are making such a big deal over this. Good grief, I can finally build a snowman and go sled riding. I haven't been able to do that in decades thanks to global warming.

by Anonymousreply 5January 17, 2022 1:07 PM

We've been snowed in. Had several feet dumped over the last 6 weeks or so here. Now its just freezing.

by Anonymousreply 6January 17, 2022 1:24 PM

Here in Toronto, too, OP. I'm so glad I don't have to drive in that. Watching the mess from my window but it sure is coming down.

by Anonymousreply 7January 17, 2022 1:50 PM

About 6 inches here.

by Anonymousreply 8January 17, 2022 1:51 PM

R7, I was so pissed off at the idiots (usually in Audis and Range Rovers) who had to try to drive out of the neighbourhood this morning. Like, just fucking let them clear the roads.

by Anonymousreply 9January 17, 2022 2:37 PM

Snow then rain.

by Anonymousreply 10January 17, 2022 2:40 PM

A couple of inches of snow north of Cincinnati, Ohio.

by Anonymousreply 11January 17, 2022 2:52 PM

Same here in Kentucky just across the Ohio from Cincinnati.

by Anonymousreply 12January 17, 2022 2:57 PM

I never got it.

OP, I try to avoid Snowflakes.

by Anonymousreply 14January 17, 2022 4:04 PM

Just a couple inches yesterday…more may be coming later this week, near DC.

we got rain then an inch of snow. it melted by 2 pm

by Anonymousreply 16January 17, 2022 5:22 PM

Meanwhile it was 6°C here in Norway today. Totaly normal.

by Anonymousreply 17January 17, 2022 6:46 PM

The tree limbs in my backyard are like a Currier and Ives engraving but my road is clear. For once the city salt crews were on the ball.

by Anonymousreply 18January 17, 2022 6:47 PM

40cm where I am, just outside Toronto. Major roadways closed.

by Anonymousreply 19January 17, 2022 7:31 PM

Just rain in Boston. A buddy in Cleveland says they got a foot and a half of snow.

by Anonymousreply 20January 18, 2022 3:11 AM

R17- That's not cold at all. That's well above freezing. I would think that's quite mild for Norway in January.

by Anonymousreply 21January 18, 2022 3:24 AM

Yes, that's 42F. In the far north here in the U.S. we won't see that until at least March or possibly even April.

by Anonymousreply 22January 18, 2022 3:58 AM

R21 Yup. It's much warmer than normal. Winters here get warmer each year. December 2021 was actually colder than normal and we got a lot of snow. January has so far been warm. Not even freezing temps most days. Most of the snow is gone and I can see the grass again.

by Anonymousreply 23January 18, 2022 5:14 AM

[quote] last fall It's much warmer than normal

As meteorologists last Fall said we should expect with this year's La Nina

by Anonymousreply 24January 18, 2022 5:20 AM

I live in Toronto. Had to go to work as I cannot work remotely anymore. It was okay but I don't live that far so it was manageable. About 60% of staff called in sick or couldn't make it in. The Eaton Centre closed at 4 p.m. Part of line 1 shut down with no shuttle buses as an alternative.

by Anonymousreply 25January 18, 2022 5:43 AM

This being a GAY site I'm surprised no one here has made a joke about - Did you get PISSED on?

by Anonymousreply 26January 18, 2022 4:31 PM

I don't know what was going on, R25, but I was driving the dog to daycare today and King Street was a total standstill... end to end to end streetcars. Downton is pretty messed up but it was 36 cm... that's a lot.

by Anonymousreply 27January 18, 2022 4:38 PM

About 8 inches of snow then rain. Temps fell to well below freezing overnight and now there's thick ice everywhere. It sucks.
