The backlash has begun!
Vogue Magazine Criticized for Cover Making Black Models Look ‘Entirely Wrong’
A Twitter'Tard tweeted :
“It’s bloody awful. The styling and aesthetic is entirely wrong. We, as usual, have been erased. This isn’t #BlackGirlMagic, it’s Black Girls Tragic. Sack the damn stylist and photographers. In fact, sack the entire team. Smdh,” writer Taiwo Williams tweeted.

Are they naturally that dark or did they darken the skin?

I will keep posting it until DL shuts down:
TWITTER IS NOT REALITY or an accurate reflection on society.
That said …. The lighting is terrible.

So? Sometimes they have terrible covers with white people in them.

I have never seen anyone that black in my life. They look like they're in blackface.

Ok too much ignorance already happening on this thread. And it’s mostly 1 person. Enough.

r1 some are natural, others are clearly edited (check the models other work; Anok Yai, Nyagua Ruea, Abény Nhial, Janet Jumbo, Maty Fall, Akon Changkou, Adut Akech, Amar Akway, Majesty Amare) the darkest is dark but less than Grace Jones, so no way that was natural. Incidentally, there was a dark dark skin filter released just a few months ago that has been making the hackneyed fashion rounds. so, suspect it's that plus makeup.
r4 U.S. wokeism maybe... but more likely to hear it from the radical side of the ados movement

Funny you should post that, R8, as I was just going to post that it reminds me of the cover of Nightclubbing - minus the androgyny.

It would've been great had the models been depicted in their natural skin tones, but some of them were clearly darkened to appear blacker than black.

This is like when blacks used to use cork on their face to appear blacker in minstrel shows.

Let's be real, r4: Woke twitter would complain that none of them have a "girl dick", is morbidly obese, is riddled with crippling mental issues, is visibly disabled, or is Muslim.

It would have been nice if they’d worn some color. Deep jewel tones would have made their skin pop - without the need for a filter or whatever they used that makes them all look so matchy matchy. There’s a “backstage” video and you can see that they all have very different skin tones.
I don’t think Enninful is the genius he thinks he is.

The whole thing is just too dark, get a light background, put them in more colorful clothing...good idea but terrible execution.

The women look uncanny with the oily black skin and anorexic legs. Aesthetically the cover is a failure, unless the photographer were intentionally going for "slight dread". This is like if they tried to make a cover with gay models and everyone had a limp wrist and an exaggerated evil smile. But of course, because criticism is coming from the SJW camp, some of you, including OP, pretend the critics are just playing victim. If a woke kid came warning about an incoming tsunami, OP would probably try to make a joke about blue hypocrites fat-shaming the sea.

I haven’t checked but it’s a safe bet it’s true. This culture wars agenda is not something that springs naturally from gay culture — it’s being spun as a widespread gay belief by one particularly sad individual.

This girl from Senegal also has an extremely dark skin, even in natural lighting. I think a lot of African-Americans don’t realise how black some African people are. To them (African Americans) Beyoncé is the Platonic ideal of a black woman, which is why she is so revered.

Skin colour and sometimes hair colour can vary wildly, depending on the lighting. In some pics my hair looks dark-blonde, in others pitch-black. Big deal.

Sorry, R35. That looks like face paint to me. She may be dark, but that doesn't look natural.
