Who played Joe Gillis in the original musical production of Sunset Blvd?

Some DLl-er posted a" what happens to twinks on B’way when the party’s over," and I thought, yeah, whatever happened to the dude who played Joe Gillis in the original musical version of Sunset B. That role should have been a springboard to a career. Perhaps the actor was sprinkled with fairy dust and hadn’t the balls to carry the masculine load to other roles, musical or not.

Fairy dust? I stopped using that term a few years ago. Apparently, it’s now considered pejorative. Damn!

oh, and reply 3....holy shit - about what happened to him, I mean

by Anonymousreply 8January 14, 2022 1:22 AM

I don't know about in your benighted parts of the world, but here it was Hugh Jackman.

R3.

He's good here, at Sydmonton. It kind of captures how the story is mostly lost on the big stage. Up close he and the song pack a punch. 2:48 mark

It wasn't a shit. He told me I was welcome to wait there. Patti just tells the story that way because she's Patti.

Not long after Sunset Blvd he was in a bad motorcycle accident and he went through two years of rehabilitation.
