Is This Dolce & Gabbana T-Shirt Worth £550?

I mean, it's an investment, right?

I'm surprised it's not some relic from Christian Audigier/Ed Hardy era.. If I somehow found that abomination in the back of my closet, I'd actually pay someone $500 to take it somewhere where it can't be traced and burn it.

by Anonymousreply 1January 10, 2022 10:21 PM

It’s a WASTE of money! But some folks have money to burn.

by Anonymousreply 2January 10, 2022 10:22 PM

So fugly.

by Anonymousreply 3January 10, 2022 10:22 PM

Well if they only make a couple hundred of them, and you want to impress your other grossly rich 17 year old friends... yes it's worth it. Nowadays you can just tag every individual item that you are wearing in an Instagram photo. So really the value is the 550 price tag, because you can brag about your wealth not only to friends, but to strangers. And the quirky green cheetah print mixed with the tiger shows that you're quirky and you don't take yourself too seriously :P lol

by Anonymousreply 4January 10, 2022 10:24 PM

You can find a crafting frau to make you one for much cheaper.

by Anonymousreply 5January 10, 2022 10:26 PM

Jesus. If you’re going to model an overpriced piece of clothing at least have it fit well.

by Anonymousreply 6January 10, 2022 10:27 PM

So I should spend 500 bucks to have a giant cat painted across my t shirt. Wasteful dpending.

by Anonymousreply 7January 10, 2022 10:50 PM

Even my typo error quit this bitch.

by Anonymousreply 8January 10, 2022 10:52 PM

Money sure does make everything okay, huh? This is as tacky and ugly as three wolves t-shirts in redneck WalMarts.

by Anonymousreply 9January 10, 2022 10:58 PM

Tacky trash. Nothing entices me to buy that shit. Not the designers, not the shirt itself, not the price, not even the model.

It's a scam for stupid people to look gutter trash rich.

by Anonymousreply 10January 10, 2022 10:59 PM

OP It's an amazing investment. Sweat stained pit smelling ones go for thousands!

by Anonymousreply 11January 11, 2022 8:58 AM

A must for drug dealers.

by Anonymousreply 12January 11, 2022 9:04 AM

I would love it if it weren't for the leopard-print background. It makes zero sense. Why not a stylized jungle or even just another colour or a more neutral pattern? My main objection (apart from leopard print being tacky by default) is that it ruins the 3D effect the perspective of the tiger establishes.

by Anonymousreply 13January 11, 2022 9:26 AM

This car starts at about a half million dollars. Is it worth it? To me, no. To the people who buy it, yes. Same with the shirt

Every time I see overpriced shirts I remember one of my highschool friends who was so proud of his Chicago Bulls shirt (from the Michael Jordan era) he couldn't shut up about how expensive it was.

So proud and smug he didn't saw the "Chicago Rulls" typo on that cheap shirt.

by Anonymousreply 15January 11, 2022 9:46 AM

r13 it's for those that constantly rave about being a 90s kid and how rich & white everyone was except for their tv daddy while asking you to pay off their student loans, so they can buy this ghastly thing..

by Anonymousreply 16January 11, 2022 11:03 AM

He didn't saw it, eh?

by Anonymousreply 17January 11, 2022 12:07 PM

You can buy it, then sell it on Poshmark for $100, and then you too can save up all that Poshmark money and have yourself a $10,000 wedding!

by Anonymousreply 18January 11, 2022 12:11 PM

It’s perfect for Dolce & Gabbana’s customer base.

by Anonymousreply 19January 11, 2022 12:11 PM

The whole line is hideous and I say that as a label whore myself.

by Anonymousreply 20January 11, 2022 12:13 PM

You would need the matching pants, OP

Seriously though, we go over this monthly: this sort of overpriced crap from high end designers is not aimed at Americans or Europeans.

It is aimed at wealthy Asians and Middle Easterners who don't really seem to get how ridiculous it looks and will happily buy anything with a designer logo on it.

The mark-up on those items must be insane - $800 cotton cargo pants, $800 t-shirts.

It must provide a huge revenue stream however which allows all these brands to indulge on the clothes and leather goods that Americans and Europeans do buy

Essentially conning the wealthy. I wouldn't have a problem with it if the profits went to good causes.

by Anonymousreply 22January 11, 2022 1:44 PM

This shirt reminds me of something out of a half price Museum Company catalogue from 1996.

by Anonymousreply 23January 11, 2022 2:18 PM

NO! Just NO!

by Anonymousreply 24January 11, 2022 2:20 PM

Needs flame decals going up the arms.

by Anonymousreply 25January 11, 2022 2:24 PM

It looks like something Al Pacino would have worn in Scarface.

by Anonymousreply 26January 11, 2022 3:23 PM

No, but I presume it's really about advertising that you have money. It's very nouveau riche. Old rich are more likely to try to hide their wealth.

by Anonymousreply 27January 11, 2022 3:35 PM

The model needs to pair it with a chunky gold chain.

by Anonymousreply 28January 11, 2022 7:41 PM

This garment has Jack Grealish written all over it.

Wearing it won’t actually make him look any more tough or masc, but he’ll believe that it will.

R16, R13 here. I still wouldn't buy it for that price. I mean I would never buy a shirt for this amount. Also while I can get the appeal, it is a look that would really not work for me but I can imagine people who would look good in it.

by Anonymousreply 30January 14, 2022 12:32 AM

Tiger.

Grrr!

by Anonymousreply 31January 14, 2022 9:26 PM

I would pay more if it came with a matching scarf.

by Anonymousreply 32January 15, 2022 12:38 PM

That t-shirt would be nice for your first day at Clown College, before you get your real costume.

by Anonymousreply 33January 15, 2022 12:42 PM

You could buy a real tiger for that much.
