My 15 year old nephew has a similar list. He owns a cutting edge gamer pc station and a Playstation 4. He wants Ipads, notebooks, go pro, playstation 5, switch etc.

R120 I use mine everyday, and it's an IPAD 2, almost 8 yrs old. Although it's on the down slope in its lifespan, the only issue really is battery life (but that changes if I turn off bluetooth and wifi, my first I'd had for 5 or 6 yrs, and in that time Id never used the 3g or needed a data line for it, and was still working when I upgraded and gave to a relative.

I use an android/Samsung phone but tablet and computer are Apple products, and the hot spot function of the phone works to give the Ipad connectivity so it's really a versatile bit of tech, although it had it's limitations; to some the lack of Flash compatibility would be a dealbreaker I'd imagine.

I still use my iPad 1! No need to upgrade when it still works so well.
