I've seen many comments like that the past few days. 99% of people see Thanksgiving as the 1 day of the year when they gather with their families and sit down to have a huge meal. No one thinks of the history behind it except people with Twitter accounts who want to show off how much more "educated" they are than everyone else. It makes them feel superior.

Things evolve and what the holiday started out as isn't at all what it is now. People just don't like joy and if they find out someone somewhere is having a good time, they'll do their best to put an end to it.
