And a bunch of random antiques the last few pages, too, disconnected from the Elvira persona except for the amusing fact that they were owned by her, so I'm sure someone will buy them.

Cassandra is seventy years old and has retired from doing the Elvira character. She had her first estate sale back in the early 2000s after divorcing her husband. She needed money to pay his cut in the divorce settlement, so she had to sell her house, downsize, and thus a great many of her personal belongings, since she didn't have the room to store them anymore.

She recently published her autobiography, which is a FABULOUS read and highly recommended to everyone here. That girl had one hell of an adventurous life, starting with tragedy (severe burns over a third of her body from boiling water when she was 18 months old), to dressing up/acting out in grade school, working as a go-go dancer in bars at age fourteen, being spotted in Vegas on a family vacation and recruited to be a Vegas showgirl ("tits and feathers show") at age seventeen, moving to Europe in her early twenties, extra roles in Fellini films, lead singer in an Italian rock band, back to the US and living in an actual TREE HOUSE with Bill Cable, on the road with a gay revue, doing improv with the Groundlings, and finally winning the audition for horror hostess, which led to the development of the Elvira character.

Incidentally, one of the reasons Maila Nurmi lost her suit claiming Cassandra ripped off her Vampira character is because she admitted she'd ripped off the Addams Family character Morticia for Vampira. Cassandra says in her autobiography she felt sorry for Maila, but for a long time after the lawsuit Maila kept harassing her. Guess as an old lady she didn't have anything else to do.

Anyhow, people - get Cassandra's autobiography "Yours Cruelly, Elvira - Memoirs of the Mistress of the Dark". It is truly a great read!

I always get mad when I read about the bad things that kept us from having more Elvira movies and shows. We could have had a full sitcom season at least! More Elvira movies (aside from the self funded one she made that also bombed and burned through a lot of her money).

Her clothes (especially the Elvira costumes and accessories) will sell very well along with her sketches. I had no idea she was also an artist.

I honestly don't think she is in financial trouble. I just think she's getting rid of extra stuff and she's just downsizing.

The sad thing is two years ago I ordered one of those Elvira ball jointed dolls listed for sale (the 1/3 sized one) and the doll maker still hasn't sent it to me and no longer returns my messages even though other people have received their copies.

Regarding Elvira- I've met her (over ten years ago) a couple times and she looks so much older in her Cassandra form. Then you see her in person as Elvira and she drops thirty years. Boobs perfect, the makeup is fantastic, the hair, the dress, everything. She's looking a little... Too much plastic surgery in her latest pics but that could just be due to her advanced age.

I bet she can still pull off the Elvira costume, though. It really is a genuine illusion.

Whoever set the estimated prices for this auction was way off. It reminds me of a home consignment place where they just halve whatever you tell them you paid for something. There is no way the pinball machine would have sold for so little.

The pinball machine is a huge collector item and is the most valuable thing on the auction - Elvira pinball machines are highly sought after collector's items. I have a tech friend that collects pinball machines and is a pinball afficianado, he said it's something that will only go up in value.

She had some noticeable work done on her face a few years back, prior to covid. Her mouth/jaw area in particular looked different. Although she might have had to have had some major dental work done as well. Still she looks better that a lot of other celebs her age and younger.

The only thing better than her autobiography is the audiobook of it read by Queen Cassandra herself - as any casual fan will attest, her campy delivery of lines/puns is half the fun. I admit during the dark days of Covid it was a true comfort to have and I’ve listened to it more than once. Highly recommended!
