I haven’t watched a new episode of The Simpsons in years, R10, but I’ll tune in Sunday for this one.

25 years too late.

This show should have ended in 1998. Whoever took over the writing after that didn’t seem to understand the characters and just let them do whatever crazy shit they could dream up in the writers room.

Seasons 2-7 are some of the best television ever produced. The last 23 years have tarnished the legacy.

It’s hard to say, R21. They could end up together but the character fades into the background, re-appearing every once in a while. The Simpsons has done that on numerous occasions.

R21 imo that’s the issue with giving Smithers a partner at all. The ‘bit’ and the central defining trait of the Smithers character is his slavish and unwarranted devotion to Burns, which will naturally diminish if he has a major serious love interest to whom he commits.
