Beyoncé’s song “Flawless” really is a brilliant song

I hate this song for spawning all of the hideous text print apparel and novel items. So fucking annoying. The Chimamanda excerpt is so contrived, too.

Celine does an unbelievable cover of this gem!

R2 really?

Is this an old song? The lyrics are so dated. Women don't raise their daughters like that anymore, unless she's singing about a third world nation.
Anyway, I was a huge fan of Destiny's Child but haven't followed Beyoncé much since.

Ugh, it’s shit like this that convinces basic chicks they’re something they’re not. Actual bad bitches are rare.

Kate Smith did it better.

Catchy song but her lyrics are so simplistic. Without the music videos, the lyrics would not make much sense. That's why I find it dubious she gets all this praise, not only does she not write songs (she never can articulate what her music is about or name inspirations or influences for lyrics) but she depends on so much help to construct one song.

[quote] her lyrics are so simplistic
And it takes ten songwriters to get that simplistic.

The fact that this song is from 2014 and I didn't even know if it was something new from her shows how forgettable her songs have become.
She is the most overrated person in show business.

Her most memorable songs were in her early years: Crazy In Love, Listen, Halo, Single Ladies. After 4 flopped, she decided to recreate herself and start using symbolism, heavy visuals and cryptic social media messaging. Created a cult and then hopped on social trends like feminism, Black Lives Matter and Afrocentric despite her early music not having any hint of social consciousness. The female empowerment thing was done a bit better by Destiny's Child though they were more along the lines of Spice Girls materialistic "girl power" branding. Yet the sabotage of her bandmates and their disposability undermined the sisterhood aspect.

God she's awful. She trills in that irritating soprano squawk. She keeps trying to reinvent herself and every time it's a pointless, hapless, soulless mess.

She’s great

No one cares about Beyoncé. She’s shilling for Tiffany for FFS. She couldn’t be more common and basic.
