My niece has announced she is bisexual
Okay, fine, her parents are cool. Her new bf is also bi and identifies in third person as "they". Both are 22. She is also going through her idealistic phase, quit wearing bras and shaving her pits and wants the world to sing kumbaya. She has her first job out of college with a psych degree as a teacher's assistant. She told her parents she doesn't like it now because work is interfering with her hobbies. She is an only child and has been spoiled rotten.
I hope this is a phase or is this fairly common for that generation? We are all rolling our eyes at her now and her parents are thinking "that's how the world works child and, yes, work interferes with your preferred activities".

He's tall, beefy Latino with a hipster beard. Not my type and I'm too old, you perv.

"Only-child niece" is a deal breaker, OP.
If there's no nephew involved, WE DON'T CARE.

Nothing wrong with being bi. I'm more concerned with thinking "work interferes with my hobbies." Pysch degree? TA? rolls eyes. GROW THE F UP

Yes, R5. Her job is more than she thought it would be and she's mad that she can't go hang out by the river and tube every day.

She’ll be married with kids within 10 years of course.

I’m not sure what the conflict is that OP wants resolved. Or is this just kind of a “Dear Diary” type post?
