I know this will be and strange response, but I'm almost fascinated to see what an opposing viewpoint in this case would look like?

The conspiracy theorist in me feels this is an opening for slavery to be not so bad since black Americans have it better than modern people in Africa, or an opening that gays are somehow defective.
