Can we talk about the delicious Jaye P. Morgan? She's going to be 90 on 12/3/2021

Unbelievable how time has flown! She was the it girl and everyone's sexual fantasy especially in the 1970's. Her pussy was being munched 24/7 back then! Yummy!

Let's post gorgeous photos and videos of her. Anyone have some stories on her?

The IT Girl? Hardly.

She was on a couple of game shows for a few years, then disappeared.

by Anonymousreply 5October 13, 2021 5:59 AM

She had nice titays

by Anonymousreply 6October 13, 2021 6:06 AM

I used to get her confused with singer Jane Morgan, who's also still with us and is 97 years old. Jane Morgan had a marginally more successful career as a singer and was a replacement Mame on Broadway. She never had to flash her titays to get attention.

by Anonymousreply 7October 13, 2021 6:12 AM

Did anyone have her records?

I remember Jaye P. getting bleeped on The Gong Show on more than one occasion.

by Anonymousreply 9October 13, 2021 6:22 AM

Jaye did "Sugar Babies" with Eddie Bracken at the Palace in Cincinnati and no boobs were flashed.

by Anonymousreply 10October 13, 2021 6:24 AM

" I would have eaten her out!"

by Anonymousreply 11October 13, 2021 6:26 AM

R10, Eddie's boobs were too shriveled by that time.

by Anonymousreply 12October 13, 2021 6:26 AM

Strong start to her singing career in the 1950s and then it peters out. She had some laughs along the way. Nice work if you can get it.

by Anonymousreply 13October 13, 2021 6:29 AM

OP, have you been reminded of her by the Jaclyn P. Moore thread?

by Anonymousreply 14October 13, 2021 6:34 AM

She sang to the opening theme to NBC's 1975 three-week wonder Fay, starring DL fave Lee Grant.

Are you an idiot OP or being sarcastic. The only decade JPMorgan might have been an IT GIRL was the 50s.

by Anonymousreply 18October 13, 2021 10:53 AM

That theme song alone was enough reason to cancel that sitcom.

by Anonymousreply 19October 13, 2021 10:58 AM

The Gong Show, the most bizarre half hour on 70s TV (and that is saying a lot) was the first and last place I’d heard of this woman.

by Anonymousreply 20October 13, 2021 11:00 AM

The anti-talent shows of the more recent decades.

by Anonymousreply 21October 13, 2021 1:26 PM

by Anonymousreply 22October 13, 2021 1:55 PM

I didn't know much about her other than her Gong Show stuff....but she did a record in 1975 with then-new producer David Foster and it was re-issued a few years ago to a lot of critical acclaim.

Lots of then-contemporary sounds, and a cover of "Can't Hide Love" done before Earth Wind and Fire's version.

I always liked her and prefer her recording of "A Song for You" even to Leon Russell's.

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 26October 13, 2021 3:21 PM

Dusty covered Closet Man and I guess the producer stole shamelessly from Jaye P's version.

Dusty's is a bit less of a sort of "tropical" sound and a bit more straight (no pun intended) disco, but otherwise it's very similar.

by Anonymousreply 27October 13, 2021 3:30 PM

Everyone who talks about how terrible current culture is needs to watch some Gong Show clips.

They were hitting Gene Gene in the head for "entertainment value," for fuck's sake.

Several hours later, Hopkins called police to say that a man had entered his apartment and tried to rob him. Upon arrival, police found Lockin's body on the floor of Hopkins' apartment. by Anonymousreply 99October 14, 2021 12:38 AM

R96, She was a moderately successful singer in the 1950s who reinvented herself in the 1970s as a crass attention-seeker who wasn't nearly as funny as she thought she was. Sort of like Brett Somers, except Brett never flashed her boobs.

by Anonymousreply 103October 14, 2021 12:59 AM

r102 in the **Why did we start letting Russians into our country?** thread:

"Why did we start letting Muslims into our country?

They have been enemies of the US forever, and then all of a sudden, we started letting them come here.

Since then, they've spied, lied, connived, cheated, and scammed their way into American society. And of course the largest terrorist attack in US history.

The only reason I can think of, is because they're not white.

If they were any other group of people in this world, they would have been banned because of their disgusting-ness. It's white guilt liberals and cultural relativists that have allowed this.

Muslims are filth and trash. They don't belong here.

Yet watch any news show, and they getting into this country in record numbers.

No wonder Trump won."

I've always said that the drugs are the only possible explanation for the hideous fashions of the '70s.

by Anonymousreply 121October 14, 2021 5:02 PM

R120: You can say that in any decade. For example, Clifton Webb would have been out of place in the 70s (gay in plain sight in the wrong way). Liberace wouldn't have had a career now. His museum closed up pretty quickly.

by Anonymousreply 122October 14, 2021 5:03 PM

She's working that wedge haircut and those hoops. Love it. I only knew her from the Gong Show and had no idea that the bulk of her career was in the 50s as a chanteuse. The 70s album is a treasure, one of David Foster's first big projects. His career took off, but this album went nowhere. Her voice was perfect for that music. I wish she would have had a real comeback. She reinvented herself for the era.

by Anonymousreply 140May 20, 2022 2:37 AM

R127 that's the clip I was looking for, it's one of the saddest most desperate things you'll ever see. Cheap, tacky arrangements and she's got a camera crew there to shoot her big club comeback and from those reaction shots you can see the audience is NOT having it. The band doesn't care either.

R80 she and Kaye were mutual muff divers for a long time. That album they did together has a dykes-on-bikes cover.

Not sure if/when Kaye went exclusive with Myfanwy (whom she never publicly acknowledged as her life partner) for gash-grinding purposes, but that's who Kaye was with at the end.
