Will it be another economic meltdown?
What happens if China's housing market collapses?

well, you know what the communist government fears the most? The social unrest! The housing market might collapse, but the mass foreclosures will never happen in China, the government simply won't allow that, the last thing they want to see is the homeless people protesting on the street. Unlike wall street/US only cares about the rich people, the Chinese government worries the poor and does take care of them when things gone bad, this might be an unintended "benefit" of living under communist government.
