Mario Lopez, 48, Says ‘Age Ain't Nothin' But a Number‘

At 48, Mario Lopez is feeling stronger than ever. The actor and television host celebrated his birthday on October 10 with a sweat session at the gym. And, according to his latest Instagram post of a photo taken post-workout, it looked pretty intense.

In the post, Lopez also opened up about aging. "48 years old today. Feeling strong, still," he said in the video. "Did like six rounds of sparring with these fools … That's what's up. Age ain't nothing but a number. Let's do this. Have a great day."

Both fans and celebrities flooded the post with birthday messages for the actor, including his wife Courtney Lopez who wrote, "I have the sexiest husband. Happy birthday baby. Love you more than you know. ♥️🎉🎁🥊."

Mark Wahlberg also added a string of emojis, ""🙌❤️🙌." And fan after fan commented on how great the Lopez looks, with one writing "Omg 48 🔥🔥🔥🔥."

It's clear that fitness is important to Lopez, and that he has a pretty intense workout routine. The actor previously opened up to Bodybuilding.com about what he does to stay in such amazing shape as he ages.

"Staying healthy is a top-of-mind thing for me. It's woven into my DNA," he said. The actor was inspired to stay active after playing sports as a kid. "I just feel I'm at my best at work and at play when I'm taking care of myself physically."

Today, he loves to box—like in his latest Instagram—lift weights, and run for cardio. Hitting the gym six days a week, Lopez likes to focus on key body parts such as his chest, arms, and back. "From one day to the next, you might find me in the squat rack working legs or in the middle of the ring sparring or swimming laps in the pool," he said.

"Each day I look for a challenge and get after it," he continued. "And I'm never satisfied, I think that helps. I always want to improve and get better."

Over the years, the actor said that the most important thing he changed about his fitness routine was that he became more educated about his body and how to best work various muscles. "About five years ago, I was introduced to fitness expert and author Jimmy Peña. Not only is Peña one of my best friends, he's taught me so much about training and nutrition," he said.

Overall, the actor stays motivated by doing workouts that he actually enjoys. "Find something you love to do and fight to improve each day. If you love to play at it, you'll work hard at it," he said.

We couldn't have said it better ourselves. Happy birthday, Mario!

His face looks sweetened

by Anonymousreply 2October 12, 2021 12:10 AM

A nip and a tuck doesn't hurt either.

Right, Mario?

by Anonymousreply 3October 12, 2021 12:11 AM

I am his nemesis.

by Anonymousreply 4October 12, 2021 12:12 AM

Go easy on those facial fillers, Mario

by Anonymousreply 5October 12, 2021 12:14 AM

He's such a phony.

by Anonymousreply 7October 12, 2021 12:19 AM

Fake ass breeder

by Anonymousreply 8October 12, 2021 12:21 AM

He and Mark-Paul Gosselaar were the only reason I watched Saved by the Bell. That and the laughable writing and cheese factor. Ironic the creators were fundamentalist Christians who pushed the anti-marijuana PSAs and other moralistic garbage. They certainly sexualized the hell out of this teen cast.

by Anonymousreply 9October 12, 2021 12:31 AM

Is he wearing a mask in that pic?

by Anonymousreply 10October 12, 2021 12:35 AM

Having gone through that phase, I only have to say that Mario's attitude was the underlying them of "The Sopranos."

by Anonymousreply 11October 12, 2021 12:38 AM

Looks like they lasered way too deep

by Anonymousreply 12October 12, 2021 12:38 AM

Yes, Mario.

Age is a number.

And yours is 48.

The only real question is whether that's with or without herpes, cosmetic work and chronic thirst. Well, actually there's no question about the last.

by Anonymousreply 13October 12, 2021 12:39 AM

R6 so true. I used to think he was hot, but now all I see is a personality as plastic as his face.

by Anonymousreply 14October 12, 2021 12:42 AM

Exactly, R13.

Miss Lopez is just humble bragging.

She knows that she looks decent for her age.

Then again, most 48 year old men don't have regular "touch-ups" like Miss Lopez does, either.

by Anonymousreply 15October 12, 2021 12:43 AM

Didnt he cheat on one of his wives on their honeymoon? And I should listen to him because?

by Anonymousreply 16October 12, 2021 12:58 AM

Tell me that when you're 60, 65, 70, etc...

by Anonymousreply 17October 12, 2021 1:05 AM

He’s starting to look a little plastic, but I’d still hit it.

by Anonymousreply 18October 12, 2021 1:13 AM

Yes. That was Ali Landry.

Botox ain't nothin' but neurotoxic protein.

by Anonymousreply 23October 12, 2021 3:32 AM

He's a disingenous cheezeball

by Anonymousreply 24October 12, 2021 3:37 AM

He never did anything for me. I was always more of a Zack Morris fangurl.

by Anonymousreply 25October 12, 2021 3:40 AM

I worked in a theatre company quite a while ago and his current wife was in their production of WEST SIDE STORY playing 'Anita'. Her name then was Courtney Laine Mazza. They met during that last revival of A CHORUS LINE when he took over as 'Zach'.

by Anonymousreply 26October 12, 2021 3:43 AM

Shallow as fuck, but I'd still hit it.

by Anonymousreply 27October 12, 2021 3:45 AM

Mario creeps me the fuck out.

Too plastic and fake.

by Anonymousreply 28October 12, 2021 7:28 PM

Why is Mark Walhberg part of his circle?

H'wood pass-around party bottoms tend to stick together.

by Anonymousreply 32October 13, 2021 6:12 AM

He's such a loser.

Couldn't hack it as a real actor but was still thirsty for the attention, so he became the smirking insincere host of cheap TV shows because he was once attractive.

He's the Bert Convy of the 21st century.

by Anonymousreply 33October 13, 2021 6:33 AM

What did Bert Convy do to be relegated to Mario Lopez standing?

by Anonymousreply 34October 13, 2021 6:45 AM

He's gross.

by Anonymousreply 35October 13, 2021 7:15 AM

Big uncut cock on that one

by Anonymousreply 36October 15, 2021 8:10 AM

Looks like Mario's number is coming up OP

by Anonymousreply 37October 15, 2021 8:20 AM

A (straight) friend interviewed Mario. His takeaway: "Just as fake and self-absorbed as you'd think, except much more. What an asshole."

by Anonymousreply 38October 15, 2021 8:22 AM

I'm still sad that Screech died.

by Anonymousreply 39October 15, 2021 8:24 AM

[quote]Is he wearing a mask in that pic?

[quote]Mario creeps me the fuck out. / Too plastic and fake.

Even years ago when he looked more natural he looked unnatural, and something about ageing (which I generally appreciate in a man's looks) went the other way with him: the cherub face of youth just keep getting shinier and more glistening like some overripe fruit on Miss Havisham's table..."Don't dare touch it!" Instead of growing into mature looks he kept that Vaseline shiny face all these years, yet it's grown bigger and more Jocelyn Wildenstein-esque.

He used to have an impressive body, overdone but impressive, but that looks like an old turkey carcass stretched taut over a overly modelled base of plasticine.

And that most plastic of smiles and the On/Off charm switch....

Creepy, creepy, creepy.

by Anonymousreply 40October 15, 2021 8:28 AM

I thought he was a great host for the Miss Teenage America. I admire his hustle.

I also think he looks better in the video than normally. He’s not primped to the nth degree.

by Anonymousreply 41October 15, 2021 8:29 AM

The fact that he's a right wing asshole takes away from any physical appeal he has.

by Anonymousreply 42October 15, 2021 8:46 AM

mario = aging attention whore

by Anonymousreply 43October 15, 2021 10:00 AM

Remember when he finally bared his ass all of us had been fantasizing about for years, during a guest spot on Nip/Tuck? And it was much flabbier and unshapely that one would have expected from such a gym bunny. Yeah, I think he lost most of us after that.

by Anonymousreply 44October 15, 2021 11:55 AM

Mario looks a lot like that other overly nipped, tucked, and botoxed male - Ryan Seacrest.

They both have that shiny, waxy, plastic look.

I started loathing Mario when he joined the cast of ACL on broadway and insisted that a dancer who had better arms than his cover them up with a hoodie.

by Anonymousreply 46October 15, 2021 4:55 PM

Deep thinker, that Mario!

by Anonymousreply 47October 15, 2021 5:23 PM

He seems really desperate!

by Anonymousreply 48October 15, 2021 5:56 PM

Um, Mario, only guys with small dicks say "it ain't nothing but a number" LOL

by Anonymousreply 49October 21, 2021 8:13 AM

Is he a Pinoy now?

by Anonymousreply 50October 21, 2021 8:19 AM

He makes me moist as a snack cake down there!

by Anonymousreply 52October 21, 2021 8:36 AM

He's very wise for his age. Age ain't nothin' but a number. In a world of tee shirt philosophy, it's refreshing to be touched in such a profound way.

by Anonymousreply 53October 21, 2021 8:36 AM

He looked like he was 35 when he was 20 and now he looks like a pair of wax lips

by Anonymousreply 54October 21, 2021 9:06 AM

He's hawt.

by Anonymousreply 55October 21, 2021 9:34 AM

On Saved By The Bell. He was actually 16 in the first season but looked about 20 something. So did Elizabeth Berkley, who was 15 but looked womanly.

by Anonymousreply 56October 21, 2021 1:38 PM

He looks like he’s coated in a very thin sheen of lube.

It works!

by Anonymousreply 57October 21, 2021 1:50 PM

He looks good for 48.

Mark Paul Gosselear also looks good for his age.

by Anonymousreply 58October 21, 2021 2:03 PM

I think Mark-Paul looks better when he wears his natural hair color which is brown. He was sexy on Franklin & Bash. He did get weird looking in the last few seasons of Saved By The Bell, like he was taking steroids to compete with Mario's physique.

by Anonymousreply 59October 21, 2021 2:05 PM

Thomas Roberts is 10 times hotter, smarter, more muscular, nicer, stronger, and sexier.

by Anonymousreply 60October 21, 2021 2:06 PM

Hi, Mrs. Thomas Roberts Mom!

by Anonymousreply 61October 21, 2021 2:09 PM

Chris Hayes has been working out and his physique rivals Mario's.

by Anonymousreply 62October 21, 2021 4:51 PM

Those fillers and botox are starting to make him look like my lawn guy. Who's 50.
